    Re: Grannies Neighborhood 05/04/08

My, My, this day has just wizzed by - - I went to the WC shortly after it opened at noon, then came home and had a sandwich, and sat down with some papers to read, and wait for DD's call that she was home - The call never came, she forgot! I finially had to call her. Talked to a friend, and then SIL, and a gift was delived, from someone that couldn't make it yesterday - I was going to go over to DS's anyway late this PM, and get the cooler I left plugged in in their garage yesterday.  We went home before them, and I don't have a key, so took it along.

Now I have the garbage out, and just had another sandwich and piece of cake. Never got my nap in.  Still have somethings to do, so not staying tonight.

Kathie, I have an old Betty Crocker cookbook, too. I got it for a shower gift in 1957. And, I still use many of the recipes.

Hi Lily so glad you got here.

Nancy we used to go to Sunday night church also when I was a child. My grandparents changed churches often so it is hard to remember what denominations the churches were. Grandpa would change churches whenever he no longer agreed with the teachings of the minister. He always knew he was the one thinking correctly lol . Loved him dearly but he could be narrow minded big time.

Stylist, glad you enjoyed your vacation. Doesn't sound like the kind I would enjoy one bit. Different strokes for different folks, you know! Smile But aren't you retired, so how can your vacation "end" tomorrow?

Chenille bedspreads? I received 3 white with colored flowers for shower/wedding gifts. I still have a really heavy, beautiful white on white one that my Mother gave me for Christmas a few years later. Actually it is cream colored, not white.

We didn't do a thing outside all day. It was just too windy. Blew more dead limbs out of our trees.  Sure hope it isn't as windy tomorrow.

Hello Girls. Just got home from Church. Actually went for coffee with some friends to catch up. They owned the place where I worked many years ago. I was part of the kitchen help. We always enjoy visiting with them.

Lily---I love the prayer shawl you sent me when I was getting over surgery. It hangs on my bed (headboard) and I see it every night when I go to bed. Reminds me of you and all the other Grannies. I am reminded to pray for all of you.  After all it is a Prayer Shawl.  Wink

Someone mentioned that I get upset with this site being slow. It isn't slow for me as much as for some others. Only getting the reply post to come up. So I have that figured out. I bring up about 10 reply pages and minimize them. When I want to respond I just pull it up. Goes much faster that way. As I get short on them, just click up several more, so always have one ready.
