    Good Morning..........

I got Dh off to work awhile ago and have gotten laundry going and a few other things done as well. This morning I have some cleaning to do then I'm going outside and clean up the car from the weekend then work in a couple of my flowerbeds -- Then this afternoon run an errand.

Today it's suppose to be sunny and temp in the low 70*s.   Sat. morning we had alittle bit of rain pass through the area then a few showers in the afternoon and temp around 70*. Yesterday was sunny and temp in the upper 60*s to 70*.

Friday night Jackson stayed all night and Sat. afteroon Dh and Jackson took a four wheeler ride -- Jackson loved that!  Yesterday Dh and I went to my mom's house in the afternoon.  My mom said that Jackson told her that he had a great time at our house. LOL...:)  We also had company Fri. evening for awhile as well. Sat. afternoon we visited with MIL & FIL for awhile as well.  Jackson said he is staying this Fri. night as well...We will see....

Today is Jeremy's birthday -- He's 3 yrs. old today.  Jackson's birthday is this coming Sat. -- He will be 4 yrs. old. Where has the time went???  DB & SIL are having the boys a birthday party on the 17 th -- I think that is when it is. I'll have to find out for sure tho.

I tried to look through Saturdays and Sundays post but I can't remember all of what I read. :/

Patti~ Glad you had a nice anniversary -- Your flowers are pretty.

*Waving* hello to everyone~~ Have a great day........

Good Monday morning.  A sunny but a bit cooler day today.  Only about 70.  Have laundry to do, go for chiro appt and then stop in and maybe work a few hours.  See if I'm needed.  Then food shopping then home.   We ended up going to Ginger's to help unload Holly's stuff.  It all fit in the bedroom, we arranged it a bit differently then she said to as desk, which is two parts, was a bit top heavy and could have fallen where it was.  She can fix it up as she wants when she gets there.  Today is the traditional, according to Holly, day when the seniors, her class stand in the parking lot at the vet school and rub in that they are done and the others aren't.  3rd year students are actually already 4th yr as they start a week before everyone ends to get all the rotations in.  So the FUN week begins.  Ginger heads off to OK this Wed for a week, visiting friends.  Supper tonight is stir fry.

Margie, sounds like you had a good visit with your parents.  Don't over do today, do a little today and a little tomorrow.

Deb, glad Jackson had such a good time at your house.  Happy Birthday to Jeremey.  Cake  You're right, time flies.

Hope you all have a great day.

Re: June Cleaver Club Monday 5/5/08

Hi all,,,Margie  you had a great day  yesterday...We went into Karens to take her a button for the back of kassies Dress ,  that is all she has to do, make a button hole and sew  it on, she had their DGS overnight and he did not sleep well and they were both exhausted, that is my DB and Karen,,,he keeps climbing out of his crib, and wants to party...they called his Daddy and he came over and got him and of course he fell asleep on his Daddys shoulder as he carried him off to the car...They took him to Hometown Buffet for the first time and he loved the jello, Karen said there were two little girls his age at the next table and he was performing for them, putting the jello pieces in  his mouth and they popping them out into his hand, he thought this was great fun...and the little girls were laughing at that great performance....he is sure a delight to my DB and SIL...

Kassie and I went shopping and boy I hate to keep bringing this up but my goodness the prices have more than doubled...coffee is 11.99 for Folgers, 9.99 for Maxwell house,  it seems everything is at least 1.00 more,  I bought the cereal that was 5 for 10.00 and two  small beef roasts that were cheaper than ground chuck, oh yes a chuck roast was 11.00 a stupid chuck roast,  I usually buy those for stew but it was cheaper to buy a small rump roast.  I am just so worried about others who are on social security only, how do they manage.  I went to Giant Eagle because they give  you gasoline credit and I got 50 cents off a gallion on our next gas purchase, I am taking my receipt to Walmart and compare the prices when I have time to compare...but Walmart is just as expensive,  I am going to Aldi's next time....can't wait to start a garden, I did buy some non food stuff and even that is outragious..shampoo and gulp hair color yikes I just might have to let the gray show...

Well sorry to be venting, it was a beautiful day anyway just being with Kassie...well take care    Shirley

Morning everybody. Margie, glad you are having another nice day. Don't overdo on the housework, break it into a couple days worth if you need to. got most of my laundry done. Tonight I am going to be busy with parish nurse stuff. Tomorrow am trying to work a registry day. Hope they have hours. If not, will be going to the Bible study. Church looks so nice with all the work that was done. They are older cabinets and he painted them a nice beige/cream color, but it looks so much better

Deb, you sound very busy with all the birthdays and things.

Jill, you sound really busy too. Glad you got most of Holly's things over to Ginger's house. Sounds like she is having a fun week. Hope Ginger has a good time in OK.

I'm having a very busy parish nurse week, tends to run this way at times, so might not be one many extra times today.

Looks like a nice start to the day.  Later on as the grass dries, I will go out and finish the trimming. Sam mowed last night.  I have laundry going and need to clean today too.

Guess I better go down to the freezer and see if I can think of something for supper. My mind is foggy yet this morning.  (Just having my first cup of coffee)

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes.  It really was a nice one this year.

Deb - Happy Birthday to Jeremy!!

I was looking at WalMarts hanging baskets, they look so sick, the weather here just hasn't been cooperative for growing.  They had them marked $10. , bout most of them I wouldn't even give $5.  Sad really, all the beautiful flowers dying. Hope the weather perks up here soon.

Patti, don't you love it when the kids can help with the lawn?  For quite a few years we just divided up the lawn and all three mowed.  Now it's the two of us again.  Do you ever make your own hanging baskets?   I save baskets from year to year, tho some have died by now, and buy plants and pot them myself.  My geraniums from last year overwintered on the porch, will see how they do.,  Just hung them out yesterday.  Did have them just sitting outside to harden them again.

sherry, hope you have a good day.  Praying the Lord will work out your work/nsg etc situation for you in way it is best for you.  What temps are you expecting this week?

Re: June Cleaver Club Monday 5/5/08

Good Morning,Lisa,Patti,Shirley,Deb and the rest to come.Hugs to you all

Deb-Happy 3rd Birthday to Jeremy wow it just seen like yesterday you was talking about him being borned.Where did the time go.

Kim_Here is you some applesauce recipes.

    APPLE SAUCE -1.

1 lb. of good cooking apples

    Sugar to taste.

Pare, core, and cut in pieces the apples, cook them in a few spoonfuls of water to prevent them burning; when quite soft rub the apple through a sieve, and sweeten the sauce to taste. Rubbing the sauce through a sieve ensures the sauce being free from pieces should the apple not pulp evenly.

    APPLE SAUCE -2.

When you wish to serve apple sauce with meat prepare it in this way:- Cook the apples until they are very tender, then stir them thoroughly so there will be no lumps at all; add the sugar and a little gelatin dissolved in warm water, a tablespoonful in a pint of sauce; pour the sauce into bowls, and when cold it will be stiff like jelly, and can be turned out on a plate.

    APPLE SAUCE -3.

1 lb. of apples, 1 gill of water, 1-1/2 oz. of sugar (or more, according to taste), 1/2 a teaspoonful of mixed spice. Pare and core the apples, cut them up, and cook them with the water until quite mashed up, add sugar and spice. Rub the apples through a sieve, re-heat, and serve. Can also be served cold.

    CIDER APPLE SAUCE

Boil four quarts of new cider until it is reduced to two quarts; then put into it enough pared and quartered apples to fill the kettle; let the whole stew over a moderate fire four hours; add cinnamon if liked. This sauce is very fine with almost any kind of meat.

    OLD FASHIONED APPLE SAUCE.

Pare and chop a dozen medium-sized apples, put them in a deep pudding-dish; sprinkle over them a heaping coffee cupful of sugar and one of water. Place them in the oven and bake slowly two hours or more, or until they are a deep red brown; quite as nice as preserves.

Re: June Cleaver Club Monday 5/5/08

Good Morning Ladies. Hope everyone is enjoying their Monday so far. It's going to be a beautiful day here in CT with temperatures in the high 70's. I'm having a good day so far, having my usual morning routine. I have laundry going in the machine, and I'm planning on cleaning the family room downstairs today. I had such a nice weekend. I posted yesterday how we had a mass for my parents yesterday, and my family all sat together. My youngest niece and her husband brought up the communion gifts. Yesterday afternoon I spent time with dh while he woked outside planting flowers. he bought marigilds, and african daisies. WE never had african daisies before, they're so pretty, a nice shad of purple. SAnyway, he planted them in two brick planters at the end of our front sidewlk. We also have a flower garden in the back yard where he planted the rest after putting down wood chips. I then helped put out all the resin animals we have to decorate our garden with. it looks beautiful. This morning I walked outside with dh whe he was leaving for work, and we admired all his hard work.  After supper last night we took a nice walk around the neighborhood. it wa a perfect Sunday, and since dh worked late every night last week, it was so nice spending time with him. After being outside so long yesterday, I was very disappointed that I didn't sleep well last night. I don't know what it was.but I couldn't shut my mind off. The next thing I knew, after tossing and truning most of the night was the alarm, going off. I hope I sleep better tonight.

Margie, Great minds think alike. WE had spaghetti for supper last night too. In fact, there is a little leftover so that's what I'm planning on having for lunch today. I know what you meran about keeping the house orderly. I had the same problem when my step sons lived with us. It's amazing what a "mess" a dog will make isn't it! Glad you had a nice visit with your parents too.

Deb, Sounds like you had a nice weekend. Looks like you'll be busy again today. Enjoy it.By the way, I LOVE your siggy !

Jill, Have a good dasy, and good luck with your appointment.

Lisa, Your in the same boat as me. Like I posted above, I didn't sleep well last night either. I'm surprised I don't feel tired this morning. I hope you get better sleep tonight, After a while it catches up with you!

Patti, I agree with what Jill said about saving the hanging baskets, to use at another time. Especially with prices going up the way they are. We save our baskets, and end up using them one time or another.

Shirley, isn't it scarey the way prices are going up? I don't think coffee is almost $12.00 here, but if it were, I'd wait for a sale. I've noticed at the grocery stores here, they put a limit on how many of a sale item you could buy.

Sherry, Hope you have a good day today.

Thats it for now. I haven't had breakfast yet, and I"m getting hungry. HELLO to anyone I may have missed. have a good day!

    Hi again!

Just checking in before I head outside and playing around while I run my virus scan.

I just finished vacuuming, dusting and doing the bathrooms.  On 3rd load of laundry.

Jill .....   Yes, I do save my baskets and do my own.  I have the black rod iron ones that you put the coconut grass shell in and then put the dirt and flowers in.   I also am cutting way back on flowers this year.  Just doing my 2  big planters and a couple hanging baskets.  I have the landscaping to do where the vent pipes (there are 8 of them) come up out of the ground from our new septic.  I want to dig up around them, lay down weedstop, plant a few bushes, maybe a few perennials and then cover the area with either stone or wood chips.  So, I need to save up for that.  That will be my chore after the garden is all in.  Also am wanting to do the area along back of shop, I had planted tulips in there in fall and few perennials last summer, but that's it.  I'd like to dig up around there also, put weedstop down, put a stone border all around and then fill with stone.

    Just heard washer stop...

Re: June Cleaver Club Monday 5/5/08

    Good Morning!!

Sounds like we all are doing about the same -- laundry and misc. household duties.  My DS is in his last pair of socks today, so I HAVE to do socks and underwear at the very least.  I have a little bit of kitchen mess from our Mexican dinner last night to deal with.  Since the laundry equipment is basically in the kitchen, I'll do up the dinner mess and keep an eye on the laundry at the same time.  I was given almost a full case of LARGE granny smith apples (about 1/2 pound each) and need to deal with those.  Then if time permits, I'll clean the bathrooms.  If not, they'll be waiting for me tomorrow.

DS wasn't feeling well this morning, but I sent him to school anyway.  He doesn't have a fever or anything.  I think it is Monday morning sickness.  He feels sick every Monday as he really does not enjoy going to school.  Both of my kids were slow going this morning.  I told them they could just go to bed half an hour earlier tonight (8:30).  We'll see if that doesn't help them get up tomorrow.  I then told them they'd go to bed a half hour earlier every night until we figured out what it would take for them to get up on time.  They aren't too thrilled about that.  Thankfully we only have a month plus a week to go of this school year.

Margie, thank you for the applesauce recipes. Not sure which way I'll do it.  Trying to decide which is the least work.  I wish I could find the recipe my mom used to do in her blender.  She doesn't have it anymore (I called her for ideas too).

Well, after looking at everything I need to do, I guess I better get to it.  Have a wonderful Monday everybody.

    Kim

If the kids are still alive at the end of the day, then I've done my job.
