HL Topic of the Week 5/5 to 5/11 :)

Welcome to Jen's virtual bridal shower/bachelorette party   :)      Let's do all that we can to make Jen's final countdown week to her wedding a fun one!     I know it's a little early, but what the heck, these have OJ in them    :)

And since we shouldn't all drink on a empty stomach

Maybe some entertainment will drop by later   :)

Jen, I wish you and Dusta all the best, it's been so much fun watching you prepare for your big day    :)     Sending calming thoughts and big hugs to you!

Good morning to everyone.   In typical New England fashion, it rained for 99% of Jake's vacation, but this morning, the sun is out and it will be 70º today.    We took him out to lunch and to ride his bike yesterday, he's getting really good at it.    I did ok with my eating all weekend.    I'm headed back to the gym today, and maybe when Tim leaves for work I can chase Jake around the yard for a while.

Need to get him out of bed and back into the routine    :)    Will be back in a little while!

    :)

Good morning.  Happy to join the bachelorette party.  Here's our entertainment, he also agreed to me my date!  ~  LOL

Saturday from 10-10:30 I busily scrapbooked 18 pages.  Sunday was almost a crash and burn, because of the icky weather, but after a nap, I rallied and cleaned out my closets and drawers and put my winter clothes away.  I sure hope Jolene's right about the 70 degree weather, because all my wool sweaters are tucked away.

I did take a walk yesterday, it started warming up around 5 p.m., and I was sweating by the time I got back to the house!  DH got his exercise in by chipping away at ledge that is cropping up inside the barn floor.  (If rocks were gold, we'd be millionaires).

Ol' Prince bought his motorcycle.  He informed me on Saturday night.  I promptly took a sleeping pill and went to bed.  OMG.

Lil' Prince is waiting on the title for his "new" truck.  It will take at least 2 weeks, Augusta is not known for it's speedy competence.  Meanwhile, mommy has to share her Chevy.  I've been getting all kinds of graduation schedules, etc. in the mail from the school.  I guess that means I can safely send out his graduation party invitations, although I may email the guidance counselor just to make sure!  LOL

Change of plans for my 50th party.  We were going to go to a restaurant, but can't find one that I want to go to that will actually take reservations!  The beach restaurants are like that....first come, first served.  So DH is planning a BBQ, and doing all the work....I was nervous when he suggested it, figuring I'd be cleaning and cooking for MY party.  But he's got potato salad, macaroni salad, chicken and burgers planned; got my mom to bring her Florida salad, my sister's bringing chips, etc., and his sister is brining crackers/cheese.  The other sister is bringing beer, I guess!  I'll go to the liquor store.....Cosmos are calling me!

As of Saturday, I was down 12 lbs. I did try on the graduation dress.  It's suck-it-in city, let me tell ya.  I have 6 more weeks, and I will need every moment of that 6 weeks in order to make sure that dress slides on.  Fingers crossed.  I will have to walk every day, that's for sure.

Well, work is calling me.  I'll try to check in later!

And Jen.....you don't know what true happiness is until you get married.  Then it's too late!  ha ha

    PammieJ.

     Morning!

CONGRATULATIONS JEN~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   We're so excited for you Big Smile

Pammie - congrats on the weight loss (((hugs)))  Did you get an email from me? I had your work address, not sure if it was correct or sometimes my email will get caught in the filter in places such as your's :-)  If you didn't, please let me know.

Jolene - how ya doin' chickie?  I hope this week is better for you. Have a good time at the gym (((hugs)))

Muril - how is Miss Nancy doing?

Dusta - how are you? Did  you get out on the bike this weekend? How is Mel feeling?

Well. We had an exciting weekend. Sort of. I'm going to start backward because friday was the exciting part LOL!!! yesterday we worked in the yard almost all day. I"m so sore, but it was nice to be out. Dh did most of the work, of course LOL!!! But I did what I could, even though I'm slow as mollasses lately. We hit 83 at our house, although that wasn't the "official" temp of the day.  Saturday we got everything done in the nursery, I'll have pics to ya'll hopfully by the weekend. Have to wait for dh to download & resize them from his camera. Friday - great day :-)  first - my weight is up, but that's expected. So far I've gained 21 lbs, 26 if you count the 5 I lost in my first few months then got back. Second - they set a date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Woohoo!!!!

I tend to go between excited & frozen with terror....

I've had a few braxton hicks. Good Lord - it gets worse than that?!?!? She's been super active lately - can't sleep for anything, lots of hip joint pain and overall uncomfortableness (is that a word?!?) . but it's the final few weeks, and overall I've had a really good pregnancy, so I can't complain. Although I want to LOL!!!

hope everyone has a great day!!

Hi all!  Boy its been a LONG time!  Had to stop in & toss Jen some wishes.   :)  Was gonna "bring" a cake but couldn't figure out how to get the darn thing on here!  lol

The best piece of advice I got when I got married was "everybody tells you marriage is 50/50 but it isn't.  It takes 100% of both sides!  Sometimes it'll be 50/50, sometimes it'll be 60/40, or WORSE, but you BOTH have to be willing to give 100% at all times."

OK, enough serious stuff!  Where did that entertainment go?  Pammmmmmm, are you hiding out with him somewhere?  lol

Best wishes Jen!  Hope your week won't be TOO stressful!  Maybe you need to go for a massage tonight.  :)

     Hugs to everyone!  Leana

Jen and Dustin, congraulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Know this is going to be a busy time. Is Dustin having to be busy too?

Dawn that is great that they have set a date. One thing about being 61, I have forgotten all the stuff of being pregnant. The only thing I remember is the son born in August, I nearly froze dh to death. I would sleep without cover and he had blankets.

    Hi everyone.

Dawn, WOW!  Can't believe I've been gone so long - you're getting so close!  I remember the wk before my 1st child was born waking up in the middle of the night & thinking "OMG, WHAT HAVE I DONE?!?!?!  My life is NEVER going to be the same EVER again!!"  Talk about panic!  But you get over that panic quickly when you hold that squirming, crying, soft little bundle in your arms.  :)  Of course, you get it again when they become teenagers.  lol  Hope the next several weeks go smoothly.

     Hugs, Leana

Congrats Jen!   I brought the cheesecakes!   I am so excited for you!  :)

Jolene, I will take a vodka and oj to get going so I can get my cardio in. It is that TOM and lo and behold I am not down this week as I expected so think I may just stay off the scales until a more pleasant time. lol

    Morning Jet!

Pam, Love your date! :)  Yeah on the loss!  We had a lovely time at the water babtisimal service yesterday and on to a cookout at my sister's.  There was loads of good food including NY style cheescake topped with strawberries, "Not yo Momma's banana pudding", and more. I did pretty well, considering. :)  They also had assorted salads, hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled lime/garlic chicken skewers and such. Really good. I had no bread and not much of the carb salads so think I did ok. :)  Only sampled a couple of desserts. I took the Brocccoli Salad and "Gooey Apple Cake" (Thanks Leana!)which was a different version(look at last weeks post) and it turned out just as delicious!

Dawn, Miss Nancy is doing much better and her DDIL came yesterday to stay with her until this Wednesday so I am off today! Yeah. :)

Leana, that's ok, I think I brought enough cakes for the both of us! lol :)   The church service yesterday was very country and nice- they asked Mom and me to sing(thanks a lot Bonnie for informing them, lol) and we did- Mom played the guitar and we sang an old standby we used to sing at our little country church called "Just for a Day".

Dusta, Wish I could have found the rhubarb. Oh well, it will be a good dessert for "next time." Like we need desserts. lol

    Hi Michele!

Debi, did you get your run in before the rain? :)

Off for B'fast and cardio.  :)

    Hugs,

Me again!  Comin' up for air after the "date" with what's-his-name!  heh heh.

Dawn, got your email.  I had to wade through my spam filter and the emails asking me if I need a bigger p$nis, but I found it...so check your inbox.  Big Smile

Leana, where ya been, girl?  Nice to see you again.

Muril, sounds like a nice weekend. That gooey apple cake is Leana's recipe, right?  I've got that in my recipe box, so I'll have to get it out for my staff meeting this month.

Jen, those butterflies won't go away till you say "I do", then you can relax and have a fun party!  Thanks for the scuzi...I will use it on the 10th when DH is having my cookout.  The drinks sound good, did you use diet MD?

Pam, yes, the recipe is Leana's and very good! Everyone loves it!  I left some of it at my sister's and brought some home too. Wish I had time to take some to Miss Nancy and her DIL, I know Nancy loved it the last time.  The cake has a cheesecake topping so it is a given that I love it! :)

Ok, really off to exercise now. I had some natural yogurt with a little honey. :)
