DOWN WITH POUNDS - May 5th to May 18th

Okay Ladies, let's post our goals, challenges, successes, ideas, recipes . . . and let's be the "Biggest Losers."   I've given us another week before the next thread.

Hope everyone has a terrific week.  I'm up to a weight I don't even want to admit to but I will - its 196.  I'm really going to try.  I am perilously close to my all time high. jeanie

last year I did some posting to this site the fell off the wagon so to speak.  Well I really need to get back to watching what I eat.  This morning the scale said 239!!!! I'm 5 11 so I can carry some extra pounds but not that much.  My goal is 190.  but I'm going away next month and would like to be 220 but anything under 230 would be an improvement.  I have so many wonderful clothes if I could only loss 30 pounds and some really really great clothes if I got under 200.  I'm going to try to drink lots of water, stay away from pepsi (this is going to be very hard) and eat well balanced meals.  I was going to post my weight yesterday but never got around to it.

    Good luck to all

    Lynn

    Keep at it.

Hi Everyone, I have been having trouble post, only on the BB --- sometimes my posts just disappear, and it takes me forever to get back.

I guess you could say I am "hovering"  at 206 / 207   -  today it was 207, but I am very conscious of what I do and what I eat.    I started out at 213, but now that the weather is getting better, I will try to get some walking done.  No sweets, cakes, cookies, but I don't have a problem with them.

My husband took a bicycle out of the shed, and I looked at it, and wonder if I can try.   I have  Ostio arthritus problems in both knees, but I guess it is worth a try.     If I can loose 10 lbs, that is my immediate goal.

I will try to drink more water, that is another of failings.

My grand-daughter is getting married in August, so that is another incentive for me.

Just knowing that I will be posting at least once here, keeps me "at it"

Good luck to us all with our goals.

    Heidi.

is there room for one more??

been struggling here, after what seemed a really long winter, i've gained ten pounds on the other ten i still had to lose! :(  but i am almost back up to full swing with my workouts.  if i can just keep this up then i know it wont take too long (even if i only lost the ten from this winter i would just be tickled!)

Welcome Cookie  the door is always open   -  always room for one more!!!

I know the frustration, my goal is to loose 10 lbs, but it is a long haul.

I think Water and Exercise are the two things we need to focus on   -   Look who is talking  (have a hard time drinking the water & the Exercise ???] - but I have good intentions and that's what counts.

    Welcome c_oo_kie . . . we're all in this together!

    Sorry I didn't report in on Monday - no excuses.  I did weigh myself . . . I can't remember if I lost 4 or 6 OUNCES . . . but since last week I stayed the same, it's an improvement.

Like Heidi, I have problems getting the water drink and the exercises in.  I have mowed my walking path around the trees though, and hope to get more walking in.

My first immediate goal was to lose 8-10 pounds before DSs graduation . . . since graduation is May 25th, I doubt that's going to happen.  But anything is better than nothing - right?

Okay ladies . . . let's all walk away from our computers now and drink a glass of water!

    morning folks!  :)

well i didnt gain any weight--- that is a start right???

excersise really isnt the issue, if my week goes well, i can get in three to five workouts (M, W, Fr are treadmill days, two to three miles, and then T, and TH are my video days, i have get ripped by Jari Love right now and i love them! really hard but man you feel like you've done something!!)

now water is another issue... unless i can count my coffee during the day :)  LOL  but figured that since i dont drink pop or anything else, a little coffee wont hurt.

i'n really interested to see, if i can keep up this pace comfortably, what my weight will be by next week.... sure would be nice to see some results!  something, just something, to keep me motivated!

Everything here is the same.  But I do think I learned a new trick to get a little tiny arm workout in the kitchen while I cook.  A while back I bought a big pepper grinder and didn't buy any ground up pepper. So everytime I need to pepper the food I have to turn that grinder and it actually makes my arms work a bit.  I have other spices in grinders too, so if I want the spice, and I do, I have to work for it a little.  Just thought I'd share my little discovery.

Didn't get a chance to post yesterday morning, so here I am again.  204.5 so it looks like my system has approved of all the Fish and Chicken suppers.

That's 1 1/2 lbs down, heading for the 199 hopefull.      I was stuck at 206, 207, it seemed forever.

    Hope everyone is doing O.K.

    Heidi.

    It's me . . . late again!

No worries . . . nothing really to report.  I'm holding my weight from last week (Darn it!).

Honestly, I haven't put much effort in this past week, and it shows.  Somehow, I HAVE to convince myself to take time to walk . . . to drink water . . . and to take time to fix decent meals instead of snacking all day.  GUILTY as charged!

To all of you who are feelling successful . . . YOU GO GIRLS!!  To those of us who were a bit disappointed . . . today starts a new day . . . let's get with it!!

Sorry Ladies. It's been a long time since I posted anything on my weight. I am saddened to say that i have fallen off the wagon and rolled down the hill, right into a vat of cellulite it seems. i need to start over completely.

I am hoping that with school out in a few weeks, i can start concentrating on getting up early in the morning to walk, since I already get up and take my sons to school every day. I love to wak but can never find the time. With school out, I can use that time to get into the habit of walking and lose all the wight I put back on.

Re: DOWN WITH POUNDS - May 5th to May 18th

well, i've been (on the whole) behaving myself pretty good.  except for mothers day, i got to have pizza and ice cream cake :) mmmm

but other than that, i have been living off of salads, and working out every day (monday to friday) and i just havent seen anything move on the scale.  in fact, not even the ounce part... so not to use a lame excuse but i truly do wonder if my scale is not broken.  so i have been pretty bummed out about the weight thing--- that is why i havent posted yet this week.  but i know in my heart, that if i just keep plugging along, i should see results in my jeans, if not on the scale... and that is all that really matters right??? how a person looks and feels, than just numbers.

the worst part about it all, is that i am finding myself obsessed with what that scale says... and find myself getting extremely guilty about what i eat --- even if it is healthy.  and the more i think about the foods i shouldnt be eating, the more hungry i feel. sigh. like a wicked cycle i am in.  i've even had to stop watching tv at certain times (especially at night) because of all the junk food commercials......

sorry to dump on here folks, but this has really been getting me down this week.... and this is NOT what this is supposed to be about!  it's supposed to be about feeling good and healthy.... just have to snap out of this funk i guess.... i know i am doing the right things, and the results are bound to start showing soon... just would be nice if it was sooner for the confindence booster i need right now.

Re: DOWN WITH POUNDS - May 5th to May 18th

This weight gain has to end right here and now!!! I actually touched a level I don't even want to mention but today with a sigh of relief I can say I'm 198.

Heidi just called - today she has met her 10 lb goal - at 202 – this is great news. For those of you who do not know, Heidi is my Sister (we were born 9 years apart). Our height and body type are quite similar – although I’m shorter – gaining weight is easy for us – and as for losing – well, of course that is possible too but not easy LOL.  I've been meaning to replace the chair in my office - the pad came off the armrest and there is a metal edge where the arm pad should be. Where am I going with this? Well, about a half hour ago I sat down and the edge caught on the seat of my pants and ripped the bottom out of them - here’s the story about those pants.  Everything I have is too tight for me now so I bought these larger trousers a week ago - an 18 petite (I didn't bother to try them on). I told myself I had to have something comfortable to wear, walk, work around the house, shove on in the morning etc.  Now I've ripped the #%*&s out of them - this weight just wasn't meant to be for me I guess. So I’m not going to replace them – guess the weight will just have to come off. jeanie
