Hi again.....DRESSES are done...whooppppeeee    and Tom and Karen are comming out Friday night to see the kids off in the limo and set around the fire pit after they leave...several of the Mom and Dads are joining us too so that sounds like fun.   Tom and Karen play bocci ball tonight so I will drive in tomorrow night to pick up the valuable dresses. Got word my cousin's son in Fla. who plays base ball for UNF will be in summer ball in St. Cloud Minn. and will have games in Battle Creek Mi over the summer, that is a drivable distance for us, Scott and I drove to Columbus Ohio last year to see him play,  he will be homesick I am sure this summer so I sure hope we can manage to get to see at least one of the games....he is a super ball player and i keep telling hid Dad i can just see him in a Cleveland Indians uniform someday.  The whole team at UNF has to commit to play summer ball at some location.   His Grandma is my Moms only living sister and she is so proud of him and happy that we got a chance to see  him play last year.   too bad we live so far from them, and coward Shirley has such a fear of flying.   well now that the dresses are done I can breathe a little better.    I am such a worry wart....Shirley

Just a quick GOOD MORNING ALL!!

Been busy already this morning.  I didn't quite finish everything up yesterday as I got hit with a case of the sleepies in the afternoon.  Didn't even make the caserole for dinner.  We had leftover Mexican food instead or whatever you found in the fridge.  DD and DH had leftover Mexican, DS had pepperoni, cheese, Ritz, strawberries, and an apple.  I had a LARGE salad with a few Ritz.  Tonight will either be the casserole or hamburgers.  Whichever one we don't have tonight I'll make tomorrow.

I had a good laugh at my dog yesterday.  She gets up on the back of the couch like a cat and looks out the window into the yard all the time.  Yesterday, she saw a squirrel and started a low throat growl, followed by hyper barking.  I asked her if she wanted to go chase the squirrel (it was outside our fence) and she tripped over herself skidding on the tiled floor to get to the door.  She shot out the door, but did not bark at all, just kind of growled the whole way.  Then she looked up in the tree where the squirrel ran and snorted at it.  With a very proud look she trotted (looked just like a tiny horse) back to the house.  She is a 10 pound terrier mutt.  She just doesn't like anything in or near her yard.

Time to get busy again.  Lots to do.  Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday.

Thank you Margie for the blender applesauce recipes.  They look just like what I remember my mom making.

Well, registry only had ICU hours and I don't do ICU, so I think I will go do my mandatories, go to Lowes to buy fence poles and a couple bags of cement so charlie can put back fence up at other house with the chain link I bought a couple years ago, then go see what I can do to the office at other house and also try to find a larger registry to put online application at and see if I can get any extra hours that way. This registry is too small to get many hours in the summer. At least between the two of them that might tide me over until I can get to Banner. Not quitting the one I am at, just trying to supplement some hours. So hard to find part time nursing hours without committing myself to work every other Saturday (can't do that because of the post office hours) or working almost full time hours. Banner home health has evening openings, but they want me to work almost 40 hours a week, that is too much. Might check out hospice though. Haven't checked that yet. Post office really didn't have anything good posted and I just hate to leave CFS unless it is a dire emergency or they throw me out. Very few jobs except automation and that would limit how many nursing hours I can work.

Sent an e-mail to the pastor to see if I can borrow a couple of the old chairs from the church for the parish nurse office.I'm relatively certain that won't be a problem.

Sheila, which house do you like best?

Shirley, glad dresses are done. Neat about the guy that plays for UNF. Maybe he will get to play for the Indians. Too bad we can't go to an Indians-Dbacks game together, though that might be challenging to figure out where to sit (LOL). .

Re: June Cleaver Club Tuesday 5/6/08

Morning ladies!  Sorry I missed you all yesterday.  I woke up with a lovely case of the upchucks.  We had a nice weekend.  I attempted bread for the 2nd time and was pretty pleased with myself!  Hopefully, I will perfect it this summer on break.  Worked in the garden as well, planted tomatos, and replanted onions.  DD thought they needed to be picked!  LOL  Hubby is working on the house today.  We've had a massive leak under the house.  He thinks the drain on the washing machine is leaking.  So, he has to rip out the wet insulation  and repair that and then we get to buy new insulation.  Luckily, that's not too expensive.

Kathleen...my heart goes out to you.  I completely understand about "difficult" family members.  My dh is estranged from his father (looooooonng story).  His grandma can't understand why we don't spend time with her, and harasses us about it.  (she constantly asks us to go see his dad, when we do see them, she calls him on purpose so that dh has to talk to him.)

    Margie--your dream sounds awesome!  LOL

All the rest of the junes. Have a great tuesday!

Afternoon everyone.  Was able to stop in and get my hip xray done between pts and save a trip back there.   Then went to the office and did a bit of paper work needing done, came home and found cable not working again.   The box they gave us, this is the 2nd one and again not working.  Aggravating!!!!   Makes me wonder why we got it.   LOL

Deb did you get to visit with the boys?

Patti, have you ever planted 4 oclocks?  I have white and yellow an dput in pink this year.  They come back (like many many many) every year.  Takes up lots of room in my flower garden and really look lovely.   They bloom in the evening and all night.  White ones are luminescnet.  Is the thyroid ultrasound just to check out size?  I get one every year

SHirley, your Cinco de Mayo party sounds like it was a blast.  Glad Kassie's dress is done.  Loved reading about Jerry and his holding on so you couldn't push him.

Lisa, hope you can start having more energy.   I felt like that for over 2 weeks.  Just beginning to feel more like myself (whatever that is like LOL)   Hope your allergies soon stop acting up.  Love spring but hate the pollen.   At Ginger 's on Sunday, we were outside and soon my allergies were in full gear.  Someone near by has lilacs growing and boy could you smell them.

Jessica, congrats on the math grade.  Have you taken any accounting courses yet?   My oldest is a cpa.

Denise, ahh, spring cleaning.  Need to do it but just haven't started yet.  Need to get motivated to do it.

Belle, your garden sounds lovely.   Are you planting tomatoes etc yet?  Around here don't usually get my sweet potato plants until the end of may.  I did some of my own this year an dwill buy plants at Lowes for the rest.   Love pansies.

Sherry, Happy Nurses Day to you.  They don't celebrate it at our company.  Every place else I worked at did but this place just puts up a sign.  :)  Enjoy your evening at Bible study.   when do you hear more from Banner and whether you have a job and alos if you can work it out?

Jan, hope John's swelling goes down.  Is he elevating it and icing it?  How are you all doing?

Shelia, enjoy the time with your friend.  Are you going back to see any of the houses?  Loved them all.

Kathleen, sorry about your mil.   Hope things can get straightened out.  Do your  boys mind buying hot lunch?   Mine hated it.

Margie, looks like some yummy recipes.   Love your mom napping siggie.  :)  Needed that when kids were young.

Kim, hi.  Love those leftovers for days when anything gets in teh way of cooking.

Kara, hope you are feeling better today.  congrats on the bread.   Know how I felt when I first started making it.   You really feel a sense of accomplishment.

Laura, hope you are doing ok.  How are you feeling?

Well, need to get things ready for am.  Have an early pt, then finish up orders and charting then off to dentist.  Will "squeeze" in lunch with Ed.  :)

Good Afternoon! I haven't been feeling the best today. I have problems with the calf of my leg swelling. When it does it hurts. I do take meds for this. So today I've been laying low and elevating my leg. I think all of the stress I'm under doesn't help matters. Tomorrow DS gets his cap and gown. I just can't seem to get used to the idea he will be gone soon. sniff, sniff!!!! Tonight I'm making oven fried chicken, mashed potaoes, country gravy and cream corn for supper. Anyone want to come over and pig out?!!!!!!

Jill, I am playing phone tag with Banner. Rehab called the HR lady and said they are interested in interviewing me for a Tier 1 float (same thing I was on 6th floor only a different building and unit). I worked in Rehab when I was a new grad and I knew they would answer if they had any place to put me. I knew they had a full time day job open also, but didn't know if they would be willing to work with me on how many shifts a month, etc. I liked rehab, it was very busy (spinal cord injury unit, neuro rehab (stroke, brain tumor, traumatic brain injury), burn rehab, ortho rehab (knee and hip replacement and amputations and trauma), cardiac surgery complications rehab (mostly diabetics with infected CABG wounds or AAA wounds), and general med/surg rehab type stuff including gunshot wounds. Tons of dressing changes and trach care and feeding tubes, The reason I started floating was because I was tired of working 2 full time jobs and I couldn't get part time in rehab at that point in time. Will send another e-mail just in case she doesn't get the phone message. Rehab would be a good place to learn the computerized charting well because the patients have 3 hours of therapy a day so you can get lots of charting done while they are at therapy. Usually RN has 8 to 10 patients, but has an LPN to give most of the meds and do some of the dressing changes. Depending on which floor can have up to 8 or 10 stump dressing changes a day in addition to PEG care, and pin care on the ortho trauma patients and the halo patients (spinal cord injury). I know I probably lost all of you but Jill. Sorry about that.

Banner is usually loaded down with sweets on Nurses Day. A lot of it comes from the doctors groups. Usually Sees candy :-).

Hoping I can work out an interview soon and get through that in time to get my physical and stuff in in time to do the orientation at the beginning of June assuming that they offer me a Tier 1 position.

    Good Night!!

Just popping in really quick.  I ended the day by going to the doctor.  My knee pain (left knee only) has been so intense it is interfering with everything.  Saw yet another doctor, but this one actually heard and understood me when I said x-rays or MRI need to be done to determine what is really going on inside.  I am on my fourth set of therapy exercises which are doing absolutely nothing for my left knee.  Depending on what the x-rays show, she will either be setting me up with the orthopedic department or starting steroid shots into my knee.  I just hope I can get it resolved before my trip to Arizona this summer.  My knee starts throbbing just going the 5 miles to town.

I will be praying for you Sherry that all works out with Banner.

I took pain med so need to get to bed.

Well it's really late and I don't know how many of you will read this, but thought I'd check in anyway!!! Work is absolutely crazy busy and I don't have time to do anything!  They finally fired a guy who was worthless and I'm basically doing his job, but I'm sure for a lot less money. Oh well.

Wedding is in 31/2 weeks!! I just want it done right now! All these little things to stress over!! I'm going to encourage the other 2 to elope!! Just kidding, but I sure hope I get a few years break before another one gets married.

I think about  you guys all the time and send my love and hugs to everyone!! A few new people too I see!
