    Coupons, and samples

Did you know that if you contact your favorite companies that many of them will send you a coupon for a free product or cents off. Yes, just visit the website of your favorite companies (food and household products)------ check the back or side of any package for a website. Use the "contact us" button and most of them have a form that you just fill out with your name, address, and COMPLIMENT. Some companies you can ask for coupons and or recipes, and some of them, just prefer you to say how much you like their product. (for example the S.C. Johnson company sends better coupons if you DON"T ask for coupons).

Try it and the least they can say is NO, and your just out a few minutes of your time. But I've recieved a few lately in the mail for totally free products.

     Some are:

    Sunny D

    Saran wrap

    Country crock margarine and side

    Dannon Yogurt

and as I've said I always do the sample route too at www.mysavings.com

Thanks for writing I did know this, I have been using coupons for years and I always call and tell the company how much I like or dislike their product and they always send me a coupon or two. Like Jif peanut butter or Oreo's.  I just found Dannon Yogurt and love it... I am now on a low carb, no sugar eating plan.  So I am changeing my ways of eating... thanks for the info. Cokelady

    Re: Coupons, and samples

Just thinking about how many millions of coupons the manufacturers of food print every week:

1 the companies have to pay for printing the coupons,

2  they have to pay the newspapers or ISP providers to distribute them

3   they pay the stores for processing them.

So, it stands to reason that the food you get for those coupons must be awful cheap to make if they can afford to be so generous to give all those coupons. Makes me think how much cheaper it is to make your own at home.  Not to mention home made does not have all the preservatives, salt in it and does not cost for bottkes or other packaging that winds up in the garbage.

To me coupons are sucker bait for prepared foods.

I think that these companies know that if they spare a few coupons (for free products or generous amounts off) that they will probably gain the trust of the person using the coupon.

For example I recieved an E-mail this morning from the Campbell's Soup company thanking my for my kind words and they are thanking me by sending a coupon for a complimentary product. Now I can make chicken noodle soup at home, but I'm probably going to use some kind of canned chicken broth....

I also got a simular letter from the Bayer company for complimenting them on Flinstones Vitamins. They are sending a booklet of coupons for all their products.

And I guess next week my kids will be having Dannon Yogurt because we have a coupon for free Dannon, instead of going to the Yoplait display at the store.

Not necessarily.  I chased my tail on the Gillette website trying to get a coupon.  I even called a phone number and only got automated info which didn't relate to what I wanted.  I feel frustrated right now.  I had a coupon and got it out, put it in my cart, under a post it note thinking it would stay.  Somewhere I lost it.  I even back tracked thinking I could find it.  Someone must have picked it up to use it.

I'm sorry Morning Dove that you lost your coupon after taking time to get it.  I recently recieved 2 shick quatro razors (one in my name one in my DH's FREE) the offer is over now, but its the second time I've gotten it, so I'll let you know next time I see the deal.

    Re: Coupons, and samples

I called the Shasta soda people today because I had 3 cans in my most recenty 12 pack that did not open properly.  One I opened with a can opener and the other I poked out the top with a screwdriver.  The third one I knew wasn't going to open and I took it from my daughter before she broke off the tab and was able to get it to work.  Anyway, they are going to send me a postage paid box for one unopened can and the most recent can that wouldn't open so they can research the problem.  In exchange for my trouble, they are sending me a coupon for 2 free 12 packs.  Their diet soda is one of the few I can drink as it does not have any aspartame (I'm allergic).  I also received 3 $3 off on my choice of products offered by the company that makes airwick products.  I purchased a case of cascade complete gel tabs and 2 of them were punctured in one of the 32 count bags.  I called and they sent me 2 coupons for ANY size package free.  I always compliment the companies even when I am calling in a complaint.  I have found they tend to send extra with a compliment instead of just the complaint.
