    Coffee Good Morning Everyone!!!   Coffee

Coffee  It didn't take me long to gulp down that first cup of coffee!! Gosh, it tastes so good!!!  Coffee

Coffee  Good Morning Michelle!! Busy night?? You must be too pooped to pop!!   I don't know if you saw this yesterday, but STP 90, from True Value Hardware stores really cleans tile and cigerette smoke stains.  I used it to clean my walls and ceiling tiles and it did a great job.  You only use a tablespoon to a gallon of water, but I tell you, it is heaven scent cleaning real dirty walls, etc.

Coffee  Doris, isn't that the pits how rhubarb, grapefruit effects a persons meds.  I don't have an over abundance of rhubarb...thank God.  We are tring to plant the garden around Ron's Coumadin diet, so he can get alot of fresh veggies.  His diet is just too high in carbs...IMO.

Coffee  Alice, sorry your appointment with the "diabetic nurse" was not up to what you wanted or needed.  How disappointing for you.  I am glad you liked the recipe for the mushroom puffs. I might make them too.  I am tring to get myself back on track with eating and need to lose about 10 pounds from quitting smoking.  I guess the weight gain of 10 pounds isn't too bad, but that 10 pound gain has my knees hurting again.

Coffee  Nancy, I hope you are rested up from your busy day at the hospital.   I think stress makes a person tired.  Hope you feel better today.

Coffee  It is supposed to rain today, so I guess I will try and catch up on the house cleaning. I need to mail my BBQ swap package today or tomorrow, so will do that too between the rain drops.   I want to put my exercise bike out on the back porch to use.  I just have a hard time riding the bike in the basement where there is no TV and where I used to smoke.  I think if I put the bike out on the porch, I will ride it more.

Coffee  Wishing you ALL a GREAT Day!!

    Coffee  Hugs to ALL!!!

Hauke – It sounds like Heather and her group will be very busy.  I did hear about the volcano and that's why I was asking where they were.  I'm glad they are safe and out of the way from it.

Carol – I'm sorry to hear about your A1C.  It can be so frustrating.  Congratulations on the weight loss and the good BP reading.  If I go gambling, it will be one in Rising Sun, near Cincinnati.  There are two.  I can't ever remember the names.  But if one looks really crowded, I go to the other one.  They are just down the road from each other.

Mary – I'm glad you got your onions planted.  That will be nice to have them on hand when they are ready.  That's a good idea to put the bike on the back porch.  My sister has a recumbent bike that she really likes.

Nancy – Sometimes a quiet day is good, especially after such a busy day the day before.  Yes, finding the surprises in the freezer is always "interesting".

Doris – What bad hours for your son to work.  Fortunately, our tornado sirens are tested about 11:00 in the morning, so I'm usually up at that time.  Otherwise, I would be freaked out, I think.  I'm thinking I'll work in the yard today myself, if it's not raining.

Alice – I'm sorry things didn't work out at the nurse/dietician.  I've gone twice and both times I've seen both a nurse and a dietician.  I think you need to see both as they both have good information to offer.

Michele - *waving as you fly by*

My sis-in-law was in charge of a flower/plant sale at school yesterday.  So I went and looked.  They had some very nice plants.  I got a hanging basket, a salmon colored begonia.  It is so beautiful.  It was really windy yesterday so I just put it on a protected corner of my porch.  But if the rain stops today, I'll actually hang it from a shepherd's hook.

The road is wet here this morning, so I might go to the church gym to walk or maybe I'll carry an umbrella.  I much prefer walking outside.

    Morning...

    I'm up with the birds...

no wait.... its still so dark the birds aren't even up yet - so I'm here singing by myself.  I'll have to sing real quiet as I don't want to wake Rebecca.   LOL

Had a message from Heather last night.  She called to say she was in her hotel room, sitting on the balcony, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.  She then said "I knew you'd be jealous so I had to call and tell you where I was - also to say I'm having a blast"

Kids!  YUP  Now I want to go to the ocean!

ROBIN----  JILL.....  can I come visit!   LOL

Actually I think Robin is in England right now.  I remember her saying she was heading there in early May.  Hope she has a great time.

My son leaves for England in two days.  WOW the time sure does fly.  He's been talking of this trip to Europe for a year and an half at least... and now he's packing his bags.  He's off to London for a wedding, then to Germany to reconnect with friends and relatives, then to Spain to check out the hot girls on the beaches  (OK, that's his language not mine), then Ireland to connect with the friends and family of one of the other fellas he's traveling with... returning to London to fly home.  There are three of them traveling together -   each in charge of one leg of the trip.  He had the German connections to he's the German tour guide, one fella is from Ireland and he's the tour guide there and the third loves Spain.   To me it sounds like quite the trip.  There are definite benefits to being single at his age - I was married with 2 kids then and could not have dreamed of a trip like this.

Aaahh to be young again.   I would live life differently if I had known at 30 what I know at 55.  Especially what I've learned about myself.

But that can't be... I guess that's why they talk of the wisdom of the elders... if only the young would listen.

I think the younger generation will live differently.  For example, most kids won't "listen" to mom or dad or grandparents... but if someone else says the same thing, suddenly it's true.  I find that so true with my kids.  For example, as I've been learning about nutrition and natural health products the past 10 years, I'd tell my kids or they see me buy a products.  Well, it was always "What ever mom"  implying I was "strange and weird to believe that".   Now they call or come home and lecture me and Rebecca on the horrors of this or that... (same things I told them 8 years ago) ... but now its the truth - Why?  Well she read some report on the Internet or saw something on TV...   But I better never say "I told you that 5 years ago" or I'd be in real trouble.

So I let them discover for themselves and try very hard to keep my mouth shut.  I don't always succeed and end up inserting foot and twisting hard.  Then I feel like a real ditz.

My aren't I philosophical at 5 in the morning.   LOL

I've a a drink, no not coffee, and I think I'll try going back to bed.  It it simply too early to be up for good.   LOL

Good Morning Girls,  Yes it is really me, my computer is still giving me problems but I found a new way to get into TOH so hope it lets me write a note before kicking me off.

I am doing well and getting stronger by the day.

I have stopped losing weight so need a kick in the pants in that area but at least I am not gaining, I went through my closet and put away big clothes and now may have to go clothes shopping, don't you hate when that happens???   SURE!!  LOL

Hauke I know what you mean about reflecting back about things in your life you might change and my big thing is that I made bad choices reguarding men in my life but you know if I had of done things differant I wouldn't have my kids so maybe they weren't wrong and you know I done the best I knew how at the time and did have some great times along the way that sometimes out weigh the bad.

We are finally having spring weather and I have gotten out and walked, not as oftin as I should but some is better than none.

I had better cut this short and hope I can get in again by the back door or what ever brought me here.     Marge

    Morning... again.

I'm up again - well have been a while.  Definitely feel more rested.  Now I guess it's a little late for breakfast, so I think I'll go make that coffee and and have a brunch breakfast lunch.  By the time I get something cooked, it will be lunch time so I guess I better call it that.  I will admit, I am hungry.  LOL

Marge, it's so good to see you.  Sorry you're computer's being such a pain.  But at least you're no longer in pain and that's great.  That you get to go clothes shopping is even better.  Spokane, here comes Marge - Get those sales ready!

Ok... now I seriously need some coffee.  SYAL

    Hi Everyone!!!

Zonebrat, sorry to hear that you lost your furbaby!!  I know how hard something like that is.  We all love our animals, they are part of the family.  It is so sad,  when we lose them.   Glad to hear your DH's ulcer is healing.

Marge, good to hear from you and happy to hear about having to buy some new clothes. That always perks you up.  I am glad to hear that you are feeling better too.  I hope you get straightened out with the computer so you can visit more often.

Joyce, the little grocery store here in town has some really pretty plants.  She has alot of Begonia's, all different pretty colors.  I have been tempted to go down and buy one.   I love flowers and plants, so this is a "bad" time of year for me.....I want every plant I see.  LOL   Have you gotten the Wii hooked up yet? I am sure you will like it.

Carol, glad to hear about your weight loss and good BP reading.   Your A1C will be better next time.

Hauke, glad you are feeling more rested!!!  No singing with the birds for you this morning!! LOL

Michelle, if you peek in, I hope you are doing okay. I am sure you are real busy now with moving and working your buns off.

I made a Rhubarb Custard today.  I could hardly wait till it came out of the oven.  It was so good too.  Ron had his blood tested today, for the coumadin, and I made the pie right after the nurse took his blood.  He can't eat much, but he did get a good taste. I sure can not have that much pie around, because I would eat it and not be able to leave it alone.

Doris, is your DH allowd to eat Cranberries??  Some say on the coumadin diet, you can have cranberries and some say that you can not have them.  So far we have stayed away from the cranberries, but I miss them and hate  to eat them when Ron can not have them.  I think Cranberry's are high in vitamin K too....but not real sure.

Wishing you ALL a GREAT Evening!!!!  Wink

    Hugs,

Howdy neighbors........Wink  Mary, I just looked it up, Cranberries don't have much vitamin K at all, so go to it!!  I'm glad, I buy those 6 packs of "Diet Ocean Spray" cranberry juice beverage at Wal Mart, they are each 10 ounce bottles and only 10 calories and 2 gr. sugar in each bottle!!  dh got those drinks when he was in the hospital, so I looked for them and was so glad to be able to buy them for us at home.  I take a couple of bottles with me wherever we go, in this tote bag I take, that has all of dh's sheets of meds, medical history, med diary, etc.  I also carry those small bottles of water like they have at the hospital too.  These bottles of cranberry juice are a godsend, they sweeten with Splenda.  I like them too, but I save them for dh.   I will look up rhubarb, come to think of it, but will still ask about it on Tuesday.

hauke, arn't teenagers something??  lol  I had to laugh that Heather called you up to tell you where she was at that moment!!!   Plus, as a Mom, some fear had to clutch your throat when you knew it was her at first, since she was to call only if there was a need.  Phew, been there, done that!!   My younger son was like that, heck, he IS like that still sometimes.  lol

That Begonia sounds beautiful Joyce.  We can't grow/keep something like that here.  When I worked at the nursery, they kept them inside the room where the cash register was, and out of the wind.   I took one home, had to put it in the plant window in the kitchen so it would live for awhile.   The other kinds of begonias we can keep in the shade on the deck, but they are only alive for maybe 4 months.  And the deer can't be around them either.   Sigh.

We leave early tomorrow to go down to pick up dh's Mother.  Or whatever.   It's funny how there can be two Indian casinos in one city like that though.   Each has a new hotel too, we stayed in one and it was wonderful.   The room had the nicest beds, we slept like kings the first night, usually dh and I don't sleep well in a motel the first night.  No matter the "mood", lol.   And this room was only $79 a night too.

Waving a hello to you all, I have to suddenly shut down, thunder and lightning beginning!!   Good Night!!

    Doris
