friends!  Was on earlier and read all the posts, but when I tried to post, the server was down.

Chilly & damp here this AM, supposed to stay this way all day. I'd like to get outside, but have plenty to keep me busy inside. Shane came over last night, is staying with us for couple days and is going to help me with a couple projects; I'm working on washing walls & woodwork, and have a little painting to do. Only have my niece today, so will get lots done.
Took the girls to school this Am, since Shelly is helping with kindergarten registration today & tomorrow, and needed to be at the elementary a little early. Not sure about supper yet, but will be making something with ham or chicken, and will be early as Danielle has practice.

((((Margie)))) I'm so sorry about your weedeater, just don't know what's wrong with people anymore. Sad How sweet of James to get you a swing; hope Daniel gets it put together so you can enjoy it!! Hope your neck feels better soon; I hate when that happens.

Patti, hope weather turns out nice & you find some good deals at the rummage sales!!

Shirley, bet the girls had lots of fun modeling their dresses! I have fond memories of the 2 prom dresses my mom made for me when I was in HS; they were both fairly plain styles, with simple lines, but she is a wonderful seamstress and they were beautiful!! Sending prayers for your DB.

Deb, hope it doesn't rain all day for you; have a good visit with your mom & the boys!

Jill, hope the wind dies down. Glad you have the day off to run your errands; wishing you a safe trip! Glad to hear Kristine's DF's surgery went well. Kids went to the game; it drizzled off & on most of the day, but Danielle didn't mind and had a fun time!! Hope you didn't hurt yourself when you slipped!

(((((Becky))))) so sorry about your dog; our pets are sure an important part of our families. Glad you have such good memories of her. Nice to have you back, hope your pc behaves!!

Kathleen, was nice of you to spend the day working at school, bet the posters look great!! Glad Tommy wasn't hurt in his game; some kids are really out to win. So glad Ray is supporting you against MIL, but hope it all works out. Have been in your shoes many a time. Sad

Ok, off to get busy again! Hope everyone has a great day!!

    hugs, Lisa

Margie, so sorry about the weedeater. You will love your swing. We bought one one year and used to sit out on the front porch with it and sit and swing every night that I was off at the post office during nice weather, after nursing shifts and things. I think Gregg used it just about every night except during the summer when it was too hot. Don't know what happened to it. I guess it must have been stolen. Someday would like to get another one and put on concrete slab out by the pool. I don't know why people steal, but a lot of the time here it is for drug money. Hope it isn't one of that creep's friends.

Shirley, glad Kassies dress is done. Nothing wrong with plain. Just a classic like Kassie :-) Praying for DB. Its so hard when the doc you like is out and the associate is not too nice. Gregg had that happen a few times too, though most of the associates were also nice. The lung doctor had one that Gregg didn't like but the other two were ok.

Jill, that is something about all that wind. Do you guys normally get as much wind in the spring as you have this year? Have a good trip.

Patti, hope you find some good buys at the rummage sale.

Deb, sure sounds like lots of you are getting rain. We didn't get any the other day that I know of. I'm hoping to get a swim in after the interview, depends on what happens after the interview.

Also depends on how tooth feels after root canal.

Becky, sorry about your furbaby. My dogs ARE my kids (LOL)

Kathleen, sorry for all the mess with the MIL, but glad that Ray is so supportive of you :-)

Cherie, hope you have a nice vacation. I am doing a load of laundry so I will have something decent to wear to the interview. My supply of decent summer clothes leaves a lot to be desired. Mostly shorts and sleeveless tops, which is fine as long as I don't have to dress up too much

Might take the easy way out and wear scrubs. We'll see. That is always an option with nursing interviews and they are so comfortable.

Re: June Cleaver Club Thursday 5/8/08

Good morning.  What a day!  I've been up every hour on the hour last night.  Either with acid reflux (ate tacos way too late last night) the dreaded bathroom problem or a splitting headache.  I'd rather be asleep right now, but I need to stay up, it's got to be better than what I went through all night.

The kids dad called last night screaming at me about something Kate wrote on his girlfriends myspace.  I asked him if he read the whole thing and he said he did.  Well, if he did, he would've seen that the gf started the ugliness.  Kate read me everything they both wrote and I support Kate 100% on what she said.  It's stuff that was building up inside her and she needed to get it out.  I guess the gf is taking her 2 girls and the one they have together and moving to CT to be by her ex and her mom.  She said she was tired of people that lived down here that couldn't hold a job (my ex).  I could've told her that 3 1/2 years ago!! He has supposedly gotten a job driving a big rig cross country.  He'll be living in that.    So then he called again this morning and left an ugly message the said for Kate to call him immediately, or else, he said that he wouldn't be living with her or us (thank God he didn't think I'd take him back!).  That's all she needs right now.  Anyway, he called last night and was yelling at me about her.  I asked him why he was blaming her.  I told him that he is never there to support either of his kids.  He said well I bought them a Christmas gift Surprise.  I blew it at him and told him that wasn't support.  Support is when his son asks for a dollar for a soda with his friends, or ten dollars to go to a movie, or new shoes, socks or underwear or roof over his head.  That's support.  Then he wonders why Andy doesn't want to see him.  I'm not sure what Kate did on myspace after I went to bed.  It must've been good for him to blow up like that!  I'll definately find out when she gets up.

We leave on vacation the 15th at 6am.  Kate was not going with us, she was staying with her dad.  Not any more.  So, she's going.  I tried to get an appt. with mental health dept to get her something mild to take while she's preg to help her moods.  Of course they can't get me an appt until the 29th.  I'm going to try her old doc and see if he can give her something.  Other than that, we'll have to deal with her ugliness, which isn't too often, but bad when it happens.

Margie, so sorry someone has stolen from you.  The nerve of some people.  I love porch swings!  What a lovely gift.

I need to go and make some calls.

Hugs and love .... sorry to vent today.

    Cherie

Morning all!  We didn't get the rain we expected last night, just gentle showers, not the 1-2 inches which was great!  My day is going ok.  Making lessons and filling out paperwork online for dh. dh is cooking dinner so it will be a surprise.  we need to have leftovers, but he's not real big on them.

Margie-I'm sorry about the weedeater.  I just don't understand people.

Shirley-prayers for your db.  Proms are the best!

    Becky-sorry about the dog...Hugs

Cherie--wow...i'm sorry for all of kate's stress.  Hugs to you.

It goes back and forth from gentle rain to "spitting" rain.  LOL  Ed said he heard we could get up to 2" in the next couple of days.  Wind has died back a little but yes, Sherry, this is typical for us in the spring.  And since we live in the country and not in the woods and not bunches of trees around windier here than other places in town.   I got gas on Monday and gas has gone up $.09 since then.  Yesterday it went up 7 cents from am to afternoon.  YIKES!!!   Just glad our car gets good mileage

Cherie, so sorry to hear about hard time Kate's dad is giving her.  Hope you can find someone to give you a rx so your vacation will go a little better.   When do you leave?

Well, have to get things in line to pack later.  Crazy weather makes it harder to know what to bring without bringing my whole closet.  :)

    Good Afternoon!!

My computer is giving me fits so I am forced to use DH's laptop.  That said, this will be very short.  Been busy the past couple of days.  Went to DS' classroom as the parent volunteer yesterday.  Came home and was in so much pain I just took tylenol and slept.  If I don't hear from the doctor today, I'll be calling her tomorrow to find out about my x-rays. Today I have done 3 loads of laundry and have about 3 more maybe 4 to go.  I baked an apple pie and made up some applesauce (thanks again Margie for the blender recipes.  Exactly as I remembered my mom making).  I also ran to the store to get some more milk and brownie mix to make snack for the kids.  Gonna do those in about an hour (1:00 my time).  Now I am tired and taking a break.  My kitchen is almost cleaned up from the apple projects.  I figure about 10 more minutes and I'll be done.  Supper tonight will be grilled burgers, baked beans, salad and french fries (from scratch).

Margie, so sorry you're weedeater disappeared.  Frustrating I know.  I agree with you about the laziness/dishonesty of people.  Enjoy your swing. When I get that crick, I ice it down and do very slow gentle neck rolls first to the left then to the right. I follow that up with heat and pain reliever and then another round of ice.  Usually need to do it a couple of times.

Shirley (I hope I have the right person), will continue prayers for DB.

Cherie, good luck with all the issues with the ex and Kate.  They will work themselves out eventually.  Hang tough while you wait it out.  Maybe your vacation will be just the reset you all need.  Ultrasound picture was so neat to see -- thank you for sharig.

Jill, hope you are okay after your fall. I too have undecided weather.  Sunday was perfect.  Monday was cloudy and rainy on occasion.  Tuesday was cloudy.  Yesterday was cloudy and very windy at times.  Today it is chilly (mid-50's) and very cloudy.  We are supposed to get rain.  Tomorrow is supposed to be mostly clear and 62.  Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday are supposed to be rainy.  Spring in WA.

Can't remember anyone elses posts, so I will leave it at this.  Have a wonderful Thursday and Friday.

    Kim

If the kids are still alive at the end of the day, then I've done my job.

Re: June Cleaver Club Thursday 5/8/08

    Hi again,

The sun decided to come out after all, and it is not too hot, so very nice out.  I stopped at Lowes after I dropped the kids at school.  Wanted to look at their plants and veggies.  I ended up buying a zuke, some beans and a 6 pack of impatiens.  Also bought a new rose for the front walk way.  It is called Disneyland Rose - the official rose of Disneyland resort. The color is stunning, a cross between hot pink and a dark apricot.  When we get it planted I will take a picture.  Spent the rest of the morning doing work in the yard. I watered, swept the patio, planted the impatiens in pots to hang under the window of our shed/fort.  Also took out all the lettuce, washed and spun it dry - we have enough lettuce to have large salads every day for a month it seems!  Too bad it won't keep that long!!  Also took out what was left of our broccoli plants - trimmed it up, blanched it and stuck it in the freezer.  Have enough for 2 meals worth at least.

I have laundry going now.  Not sure what we are having for dinner, but I did make a pan of brownies to have for dessert.  That's more important anyway, right!?   LOL  Love the way the house smells when there are brownies baking.

I better get going.  The dryer just beeped.  Hope you all are having a wonderful afternoon.

    Kathleen

Hi everyone! Today I ran (seriously I drove) to Family Dollar to pick up a few things. This weekend we are go out of town to get more supplies to finish the bathroom. That means a trip to home depot. I swear my DH could spend hours in there just looking and ahhhing! I also want to go to the dollar tree. I just love that store. But it's amazing how much you can spend. Even though everything is a dollar it adds up real fast. I'm so proud of myself that I got all the tile in the bathroom tore up. I think DH and DS were a little surprised that I could do it all by myself. We are suppose to get heavy rains and maybe hail this afternoon. The last time we got hail it dented my car. I drive a 2 door 1972 monte carlo hardtop. It's showing the wear but is still a cool car. Of course DH put turbo mufflers on it so now it sounds really loud. Younger people look to see what young kid is driving it and them they see me! LOL

Margie, I understand exactly what you're saying about people stealing things. We've had our walking sprinkler stolen and lots of halloween decorations taken also. They even stole the center caps (hub caps) off my tires. These are hard to come by. It really breaks my heart cause we work hard to get what little we can afford.

Well, the interview went pretty well I think. They have not technically offered me the job because they have to tell the lady in HR that they want me...but they told me they want me and wanted to know when I can start. The lady in charge of the interviewing couldn't find her interview questions so she didn't ask them. And she didn't know what the scheduling things for a Tier 1 were or even exactly what a Tier 1 is, so I told her what I knew and she was sending an e-mail to the HR lady. This lady was just moving into her office and there were boxes of paper everywhere. A lot of my favorite nurses from when I was there are still there, but there are also lots of new ones. She wanted to know a little bit about me. The nurse who oriented me for 6 or 8 weeks when I was a new grad was there and marched me in there and said "we want her back" and the other lady helping interview was the charge nurse I had in rehab so she knows me well also. They have 6 day jobs opening. They are having trouble finding experienced nurses who want to work in rehab. I liked rehab, just didn't like working both jobs full time. They gave me a lei, they were having a party for Nurses Week Anyway the lady in charge said she had asked Linda (the other lady) if she remembered a Sherry Sheehan and if they would be interested in having her back as a Tier 1 float and Linda said "Absolutely". Anyway, the lady in HR is supposed to be calling me back tomorrow. I won't be around much tomorrow because I have to go to other house--they are supposed to be fixing A/C over there.

Friend took me to Black Angus to dinner. Went to Home Depot after that and got more fence poles and cement and dropped it off by other house. Somebody broke one of the back bedroom windows out with probably a BB gun, so I had to take a piece of cardboard and tape it up. So tomorrow after the A/C guy comes will have to go to Lowes and get a piece of glass cut for it and some glazing compound, put it in Saturday or Sunday and then let it dry a couple of weeks, then will have to paint over the glazing so it will match the rest of the house. That's why I need to get over there at least part of the nights so people will know someone is living there
