Margie, happy birthday to James. That is close for a tornado. Hope you don't have any damage.
That tornado I was in when I was going to school in Winston-Salem was scary. It didn't actually hurt the school, but it took the porch off a building right across the street from my dorm room and it caused quite a bit of damage to a church across the street from the other side of the camput, maybe 3 blocks from the dorm. We were in the dorm basement for a few hours. It was pretty scary and my poor roommate had a paper due the next day and it got wrinkled. If it was me, I would have told the profs that it had gotten wrinkled in the tornado watch and I bet they would have understood. But being the perfectionist she was, she had to retype the whole thing. This was in the days of manual and electric typewriters and nobody had PC's. It wouldn't matter now, but it sure did then. I used to hate writing papers with footnotes in those days. Kids today sure have it easy for term paper writing with all sorts of things online and all the word processing programs that make writing papers so easy.
Patti, have fun rummaging. Love sales like that. I may have to try that next. Yard sales here are the pits compared to what they used to be. Here it is all craigs list or thrift stores. Its kind of dangerous to have yard sales here now and that's why most people won't have them. Good way to be robbed unfortunately. Especially if you list that you have lots of furniture or something and they figure you have lots of cash on hand. Miss that small town kind of thing. Gregg and I used to love to go yard saling when we first got married. Found lots of great things, too. My dad would spend hours every Saturday yard saling. You could come up with the most obscure thing that you wanted and he would always find one somewhere in good shape for a couple of bucks.
Wow, I seem to be nostalgic today. I love the flowers at Lowe's too. Would like to plant some bushes by the driveway at other house but don't think that will be for awhile. Friend will be working on fence poles today and getting them cemented into ground and pulling short ones up. I have to go to other house after work until A/C is fixed and while I am there measure that broken window. Don't know if I will be able to get to Lowe's in Peoria to get a glass pane cut or not. Last time the A/C people didn't come until almost 7 and when you got to sleep at 8:30 or 9:30, not a good thing to go to Lowe's after 7 pm. But I at least want to get it in by Sunday if at all possible.
Jill, what kind of puppy are S & K getting? Do they know? Tell them to keep lots of bones and chew toys around. Biscuit and Freddie destroyed a couple of good pieces of furniture when they were puppies. I still use it, but two corners on the bottom are chewed off the entertainment center and they tore a big hole in the side of the recliner. I need to repair the recliner if I can ever find similar material.
Have a good day everybody. Deb, did you find out if Jackson is staying tonight or not?
Sounds like lots of you are getting rain. That sounds nice. During the late spring/early summer we often go 5 or 6 months without rain. Don't think we have had any since early March, don't really expect any until mid to late July when monsoon season hits. Wish I could send some of you some of my sunshine and you send me some of your rain (LOL) I might not be on until much later. If some of you aren't able to post on the weekend, wanted to wish you happy Mothers day
Sherry
