I'm up, couldn't sleep any more and could have slept in today.  :(  Ed is still resting but has a man coming just before we leave to look over then give an estimate on pouring and finishing concrete for slab.  Had 2 others come recently.  This will be last.  Ginger called last night and they had a good trip to Dallas.  Talked with Scott and they are getting things ready for puppy, which they get Monday afternoon.  Won't be back on until Sunday late or MOnday.  Not sure when we'll get home.

Hope you all have a good weekend and Happy Mother's Day to the Mom's.

Margie, happy birthday to James. That is close for a tornado. Hope you don't have any damage.

That tornado I was in when I was going to school in Winston-Salem was scary. It didn't actually hurt the school, but it took the porch off a building right across the street from my dorm room and it caused quite a bit of damage to a church across the street from the other side of the camput, maybe 3 blocks from the dorm. We were in the dorm basement for a few hours. It was pretty scary and my poor roommate had a paper due the next day and it got wrinkled. If it was me, I would have told the profs that it had gotten wrinkled in the tornado watch and I bet they would have understood. But being the perfectionist she was, she had to retype the whole thing. This was in the days of manual and electric typewriters and nobody had PC's. It wouldn't matter now, but it sure did then. I used to hate writing papers with footnotes in those days. Kids today sure have it easy for term paper writing with all sorts of things online and all the word processing programs that make writing papers so easy.

Patti, have fun rummaging. Love sales like that. I may have to try that next. Yard sales here are the pits compared to what they used to be. Here it is all craigs list or thrift stores. Its kind of dangerous to have yard sales here now and that's why most people won't have them. Good way to be robbed unfortunately. Especially if you list that you have lots of furniture or something and they figure you have lots of cash on hand. Miss that small town kind of thing. Gregg and I used to love to go yard saling when we first got married. Found lots of great things, too. My dad would spend hours every Saturday yard saling. You could come up with the most obscure thing that you wanted and he would always find one somewhere in good shape for a couple of bucks.

Wow, I seem to be nostalgic today. I love the flowers at Lowe's too. Would like to plant some bushes by the driveway at other house but don't think that will be for awhile. Friend will be working on fence poles today and getting them cemented into ground and pulling short ones up. I have to go to other house after work until A/C is fixed and while I am there measure that broken window. Don't know if I will be able to get to Lowe's in Peoria to get a glass pane cut or not. Last time the A/C people didn't come until almost 7 and when you got to sleep at 8:30 or 9:30, not a good thing to go to Lowe's after 7 pm. But I at least want to get it in by Sunday if at all possible.

Jill, what kind of puppy are S & K getting? Do they know? Tell them to keep lots of bones and chew toys around. Biscuit and Freddie destroyed a couple of good pieces of furniture when they were puppies. I still use it, but two corners on the bottom are chewed off the entertainment center and they tore a big hole in the side of the recliner. I need to repair the recliner if I can ever find similar material.

Have a good day everybody. Deb, did you find out if Jackson is staying tonight or not?

Sounds like lots of you are getting rain. That sounds nice. During the late spring/early summer we often go 5 or 6 months without rain. Don't think we have had any since early March, don't really expect any until mid to late July when monsoon season hits. Wish I could send some of you some of my sunshine and you send me some of your rain (LOL) I might not be on until much later. If some of you aren't able to post on the weekend, wanted to wish you happy Mothers day

Margie, just saw some of the damage in parts of NC near you.  My goodness, hope you didn't get any of that kind of damage.  Apparenlty many without power too.

Sherry, they are getting a golden doodle, the smaller size.   Here is a pic from 2 weeks ago.

    to all my June friends!

Cloudy & cool here this AM, wishing it would warm back up, but the forecast doesn't look too promising in that department. Sad Don, Danielle & the team almost froze during practice last evening; it was chilly, damp & windy.
Running the girls to school in a little while, then will get busy on my chores. Have a little laundry & need to clean bathrooms, then will get back to my list. Sat down last night and made my grad party "grocery" list, and almost had a stroke; I'm sure that will come when I hit the checkout counter, LOL!!
Oooo, almost forgot - we got Shelly's senior pictures yesterday, so I will be sharing them as soon as I get them scanned into the 'puter! We will be putting her announcments all together and into the mail this weekend!!

Margie, hope you didn't have any storm damage, how scary for all of you! Hope you had fun looking at Lowe's. Happy Happy Birthday to James!!!

Patti, goodness, you're almost ready for a nap already, LOL!! Good luck "sale-ing", and hope the rain stays away!! Love the cartoon, LOL!!!

Jill, sounds like me, almost always up early when I can sleep in. Sad Big hugs & congrats to Holly; hope you have a safe trip & enjoy your weekend!! Happy Mother's Day to you!! Puppy is adorable!!

((Cherie)), hope your day goes well! When do you leave?

((Sherry)), hope you have a good day!!

Jessica, how nice to be so welcomed into bf's family!! Hope you have a great weekend!!

Well girls, I need to run; hope to stop in later. Hope everyone has a great day & weekend!!

    hugs, Lisa

Good Morning Ladies. Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday. WE're having heavy rain today, and from reading everyone's posts this morning, looks like most of us are having the same type of weather. DH is disappointed with the rain, we were hoping to go to a car cruise tonight. I think we're having rain tomorrow morning too, hopefully it will clear up because dh wants to go to a different car cruise late tomorrow afternoon.

So far I'm having my usual morning routine. I plan on doing some cleaning today, supper for tonight will be tuna casserole, and a salad.

Happy Birthday to James. hope it's a special birthday. Marge, enjoy supper with James parents too.

Jessica, I never heard of orange muffins, they sound delicious! Enjoy your weekend in Florida. You are very blessed to have such a special relationship with your soon to be MIL. My family is very close, but DH's family is the complete opposite. That was very hard for me to get used to when I was dating dh. By the time we were married I was used to it, but I don't think I'll ever understand it!

Sherry, Thats quite a story about the tornado while you were in college. It's so true about the advantages kids have these days with computers. it's good to have such knowledge about the computer. DH and I enjoy the computer and we're both good at different aspects of it. While i was in highschool my father bought me a typewriter for Christmas!  Boy, did I love it! That was over thirty years ago!! I also had a typing class in highschool. I think almost everyone learned to type then. How things have changed!!

I'll close for now. it's getting time for breakfast. HELLO to everyone. Enjoy your day!

Re: June Cleaver Club Friday 5/9/08

Good morning.  Thank you all for the kind words about our beloved pet.  We celebrated Mother's Day last weekend.  On the spur of the moment we drove to upper Michigan for dinner at one of our favorite resturants.  It was a lot of fun.  We had tried to get hold of some friends that live in that area, but unfortuantly they weren't home.

Margie, happy b-day to James!  Have fun at his folks tonight.  I love the siggy, when I get together with my friends from up north we sit for hours sipping coffee & chit chatting.  Glad you are ok after those nasty storms.

Patti, love your siggy too, so true isn't it.  Have fun rummaging today.  I told the kids if we see any rummage sales on the way to visit my dad we could stop.  Ds is outgrowing his bike and I hope we can find a decent one at a sale this summer like we did for dd last year.

Jill, the puppy is cute.  Since we had Cleo put down the kids want to get another dog, and I am open to that idea, just not right now.  With the cost of everything going up, up, up, now isn't the time for us to invest in another pup.  It isn't like we are dogless, we do have Boone Dawg, he may not be the smartest dog in the neighborhood,  but he is lovable.

Sherry, the story of your dogs reminded me of our Boone Dawg.  We left for church one day and ended up being gone about 4 hours.  While we were gone he had taken the cushions off the davenport & loveseat, there were holes in 3 of them.  He had tugged on the recliner till he had it in the middle of the living room & it was fully reclined.  It also had holes in it.  The chair pads on the kitchen chairs had holes in them and one of my shoes was no longer wearable.  It seems that if we are gone only a couple of hours he is ok with that, but anything longer and he has to be in the kennel or crate.  We had left toys out for him, but I guess they weren't as appealing as the furniture.  We love him anyway.

Well, I'd better get busy.  Lots to do before heading off to see my dad.  Enjoy your day.

    Becky
