what are your plans for summer????

here we are May 9...and summer is knocking at our door...so far spring has been "normal" here in AZ.....kinda nice!!!!! haven't hit 100 yet....came close last week I understand...we were gone...and where we were it was still snowing....that was nice....

so what are your big summer plans????

husband is at a softball draft today....getting the summer senior men's teams all set, he will manage mostly this summer as he is getting ready to have his gallbladder out (may 21)...and "shouldn't" play for about 5 weeks...hope he can stick to that...I am sure my sisters and I will do something for a weekend this summer and husband will be going to WY with a brother, joining another brother for a week or two....then end of August we will drive up to Vancouver, BC and take a cruise to Alaska with my sister and her husband...otherwise it's afternoons in the pool with a cold beverage, tethered to an unbrella and the radio tuned to the oldies station.....lots of grilling and salads for dinner...we will be hosting 4th of July....we can see 2 fireworks displays from our backyard....

so what great plans do you all have??????

Just a few things.  Sturgeon fishing on the Columbia on June 7; I'll be driving to California in July (rather than flying, I need to re-stock the liquor cabinet); August we're going to Seattle for a couple days, and then after Labor Day we're going to Nashville.

Mostly swimming with the GD and taking her to her karate classes. Hoping to see my new GS - don't know if I will be going there, or if they will be coming here. Gardening. Hanging out with my best buddy - my dog. Just loving summer.

Both kids play soccer and we will spend countless hours with practice & games on evenings and some weekends. We will take our annual 4th of July week & spend with my parents at their cabin in northern MN. We will take our annual trip to the boundary waters during the week between the end of summer soccer and the start of fall soccer. We will probably get a few weekends in to visit in-laws at their cabin too.

Pretty much the same things I did in the winter, with  yard work added to the list of things that must be done.Dd's coming home for a week when she finishes her qualifier exams (today and Mon.) Probably home on Wed. We will likely visit her a few times and maybe a weekend trip to the beach. She and I have talked about maybe a NY trip, but we don't know yet how much free time she will have this summer since she is working for a professor on a research project.Dh will have little, if any time off work this summer. Hope everyone finds time for some fun.

On the 23 of May I am flying to Illinois to visit my sisters, will stay there for 5 weeks. We will prob go to Iowa City area again, Amana Colonies, outlet mall while I am there. I get back home in time to celebrate my son's 4th of July birthday. Other than that, we will prob have granddaughter here a lot (I hope!) and since we have a pool and are very near to the Atlantic ocean, we will do all that fun swimming type stuff. Maybe we can take granddaughter to see the sea turtles lay their eggs. They come up right on our local beach just a block and a half away from our home.I don't think she's seen this as yet. I hope we also might make a trip down to the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area. I am praying for NO hurricanes this year.......Happy summer, everyone!

    Well, remember, you asked...

I am getting a boob job on the 28th, LOL. I have some complications from my breast reduction 5 years a go ( I was really taken too small) and they will do a lift and a few other things as well as add a small implant. I am thankful the insurance is paying for it. I also have to have hand surgery at some point this summer, but other than that...just working and swimming in our pool and enjoying a summer off from college classes. I also want to read a few books, and re-write my journals, I have kept a journal on DD mostly, and life in general since I became pregnant in 1992. I want to re-do them and transfer the hand written text to my computer and do some editing here and there.

DD is going to get her first job (either Dairy Queen, the wave pool or Kroger) and begin working on the 2008/2009 show choir performance routine. She'll be a fish in the pool and work on her tan and enjoy her 2 baby brothers. She just got back from a week at Disney World, so she kind of vacationed for all of us here.

No plans this summer as of yet.  Everything is so much up in the air with BIL and my DH's parents and Court.

Will probably just hit Tahoe and maybe down to Texas to see our friends for a couple of days. No big trips this year,  maybe next.

Kind of tired of the Cruises,  I told DH we should try a Land tour for a change.

Next summer will be fun tho,  as we will take Jellybean and her mom to Disneyland.  I told DD that we would not go until she was at least almost 4.

I don't know yet, we'll either be buying this house or looking for a new place to live.  *sigh* I was on my way home from my orthopedic surgeon's office when the realtor called and said the landlord was putting the house up for sale.  Surprise to me, I was just told we had entended our lease another year. I said can't he wait, i'm having surgery next week, now is not a good time for me to go house hunting lol. *sigh* oh well. DH said see what he wants for it so who knows. I rarely ever plan that far ahead anyway. In a good week, I'll know Thursday what I'm doing Saturday lol.

    Yes, I know I am a btch.
I have been a btch all my life. I am good at it.
It takes very little effort on my part, and I am used to it. Applying the same reasoning to you, I cannot understand your offense at being called stupid.

Hard to believe it is almost here, huh?  Let's see.  We are staying local this summer.  In a few weeks I will take GD (3) to swim lessons, in mid June we will have 2 grandkids from Missouri for about 11 days.  It will be fun!  We get to see the kids and don't have to put up with the parents!!!  (Win-win situation there.)  We will spend a lot of time with local grandkids swimming.  In Sept. going to Alaska with Shelley and spouses and hopefully meeting AK fisherchick in person!  Hopefully we will have a good monsoon season and get a lot of rain and lightning and thunder (no injuries to anyone, please) and just enjoy the time.  We will also be going to California to get to know 2 new grandsons who are 3 months and a newborn who is almost a week old!  I bet I will hit the beach when I'm over there as well!  Happy summer everyone.
