    Attn: Friday "Night Owls"....

    Glitter Graphics

Good evening "night owls"!  Sorry for the confusion last night with the double posts.  I didn't think that the first one had gone through and so I posted another one.

It rained all day today and was actually a little chilly as well.  It's supposed to clear up and we should have a nice Mother's Day weekend.  So what did everyone do today?

Hi Kim!  Just finished the dishes!  I'm watching the last 20 minutes of Ghost Whisperer, then I'll be back.  All I did today was fight with Cox Cable and clean the dinette!  LOL

    Hey Kim,

I've been working!!  Somehow I got the job of picture taker for our club doings., probably cause I take care of the web page.  Anyway, we had an eat out today, I took pictures and then when we got home had to put the write up and pictures in the web.  Then had to download and print the pictures for the Activity Director.  She likes to post them on the Bulletin Board for the ones who don't have puters or didn't go along.

So Did you have a boring day again-work, game-dinner?

Well I sure hope that you won the fight!  How is Gary feeling today?

I'm not sure if I told you, but I visited with Granny for a while last week.  She looks so tired!   Her mind is still very sharp.....she somehow manages to keep track of all of us!  God bless her!!

Hi Beth!  How was your dinner out with the gang?  Sounds like a lot of work....taking pictures and posting them.  You're a sweetheart to do that for your neighborhood.

Yes, it was another "boring" day.....work, no-game and dinner.  LOL!  There's a tournament scheduled tomorrow but I'm not sure how that's going to work out.....it rained all day and the fields must be pretty wet....although tomorrow is supposed to be sunny, not sure if the fields will have a chance to dry out.

Kim,  I'm assuming your Grandpa isn't living anymore.  How old is your Granny?  I always felt that I really didn't have grandparents.  My paternal ones died when I was a very small child and the maternal ones moved from Mn to the West coast when I was about 8 or 9.  They came back to visit once in awhile but not often.

No, Kim, I didn't win the fight--it was over a $7 late fee--we never got the bill from them, and they won't remove the late fee!  I told them that as soon as my contract is up, I'm going to go with another provider if that is the kind of customer service I can expect.  Oh, how I wish I had had a Granny like yours.  I only had one grandparent that I knew, and she was no picnic, believe me!

Hi Beth!  I see you snuck in here!  Thanks again for the heads up on the cake bars!

Bonnie, they have the cutest cupbakes in a magazine I get, I think it is Women's Day.  They look like all sorts of kinds of dogs.  But you would have to have plenty of time to do them.  I don't know how many you need either.

I don't think cupcakes would work as well as cookies, because people just want something to grab and eat with one hand!  I don't know how many I'll need, either, as the last time, we had 3 sign up and had about 50 show with about 38 units donated.  This time we have 12 signed up, but are able to take more--we'll see what we end up with!  Lorraine also send me a recipe for some peanut butter thingies that look real easy and quick.

How much time do you have to bake?  I have a recipe for overnite cookies that aren't hard to do.  You could make them on Sat. and bake them on Sun.  You mix them up, form into a row of dough about 2 inches wide and about 1 1/2 or 2 inches high and as long as you feel like.  Put in fridge overnite or several hours and then slice and bake.  I would have to go look up the recipe if you are interested.  Wish I could do your baking for you as I like to bake.

Beth - my grandpop died 30 years ago....I was a senior in high school.  Granny is 92 and beginning to show the years.  But she's still so loving and nurturing.  I was lucky to have a relationship with all of my grandparents.....I lost three of them ten years apart......'78, '88 and '98.  We still have Granny!

Bonnie - the cake bars are great.....I made a couple of different kinds for a bake sale last month.  The best part is....they're soooo easy!!

I think I'll just do some cake bars and the peanut butter ones Lorraine sent me and maybe some chocolate chips--that will be more than enough.

I have to go to my local grocery store tomorrow to pick up a few boxes of cake mix as they have them on sale for .99 each.  Need to make a pan or two for Wed coffee hour.  Might just make one pan and a batch of cookies instead.

I think the cake bars would go over real well at the blood drive.

I'll probably do all the baking on Sunday, as all I have that day is church in the morning, and maybe taking MIL out for dinner, depending on how DH feels.  Tomorrow we are hoping to go to the local outlet mall to get new sneakers--Rebok is having their AAA or AARP sale--we always stock up during that sale!
