I need high school graduation gift ideas

I need to buy a graduation gift for a girl.  She will be in a dorm room in the fall. I need gift ideas, please, in the $50 or so range.   Thanks.

I would just give her a 50.00 gift certificate. Much easier that way.

Towels, laundry bag, sheets, blanket, big pillows, desk lamp - anything she might need in the dorm room.  Most dorm beds these days are twin extra long - in fact, some places like LNT or BB&B consider those sheets seasonal and begin carrying them early in the summer for dorm living.

A gift certificate to a place like Bed Bath & Beyond would be great - they cover everything from the kitchen to the bathroom to bedroom to personal items.

But if you want to purchase an item instead of a gift certificate, how about:

*towels and washclothes

*pretty pillows for her bed

*bed linens

*a small vacuum cleaner (you can get them as low as $30 at WalMart)

*wall clock

*alarm clock

I had forgotten about the beds being extra long.  I like the linens and bedding idea and I like the gift certificate idea so I'm going with the suggestion of a GC to BB&B.  Kills two birds with one stone.  Thanks everyone!

The good thing about the gift certificate is that she can pick out her own colors and such. You will make her very happy!

We always give money for all occasions.  She probably can use the extra cash especially if she is going on to college.

I'd go with a certificate. I don't think my DDs would have wanted bedding for graduation. They had rather have something personal.

I've gotten 4 cards and I'm giving them all Wal-Mart gift cards.

I like the gift card idea too, especially if they're going away to college.

Last year when my son graduated, he received a fair amount of cash.  I wish people would have given him gift cards, he piddled most of it away over the summer.

You can also buy gift cards to the campus store of the college she's attending.
