    05/10/08 CS's Chat

                        Photobucket

    • I know it is not Mother’s Day yet that isn’t until Sunday.  I have something special for then, but this was so pretty I thought we could have two days this year.

    • Thought for the Day- Courtesy is doing unto others what you would like them to do unto you.-Unknown

    • Today is Eat What You Want Day. What would you like to have to eat today? Okay, great.....health permitting, go ahead and have any and all of your favorite foods and snacks. Because today is Eat What You Want Day.

    • Eat What You Want Day is definitely not a day for diets.  It is one single, solitary day in the year to go off your diet and eat something you really enjoy, Today, you can set aside your dietary "No-No" list. Today, you can splurge. Tomorrow, it's back to the diet. It is important to note that today is not intended to eat as much as you want. Rather, the goal is to eat something you otherwise wouldn't have. If you are watching carbs or calories, simply keep within your limits by eating just a small amount of that favorite treat.

    • Caution: People with allergies and/or medical conditions, may not be able to fully participate in this day. Simply said: Do not risk your health to participate in this day.

    • Filling the prayers basket and hugs basket!  Don’t forget to add lots of extra prayers for Russell’s fast recovery and hugs for NancyZ!  Also for Anne and her family!  Don’t forget the extra baskets!!

    • Special hugs and prayers for Cilla, Louise and Maury, Gat and Jeanette, Mabel and Floyd, Grace, Sally, Ruth, Anne, NancyZ and Russell.

    • Remember the group prayer! “Heavenly Father, we ask that you watch over and care for all Cookin’ Seniors and those they love as they go about their day!!”

    • One of the guys that ordered white rocks from us earlier and we mailed out Wed called tonight and he hadn’t gotten the chickens yet.  So we tore up the house looking for the mail carbons since they were shipped overnight.  We found them and it has the totally wrong zip on it, but I did a trace and they were in Little Rock so he should get them tomorrow.  His label has the wrong zip but the order is at work so I have no idea if Bob got it wrong or the guy did when he wrote it down.  I will find out tomorrow.

    • Glad to get an update on Rosie and Daisy.  Hope they both are doing better.

    • It is late and I gotta get to bed to get up early with Bob so just will fill up all the baskets with hugs and prayers for all and see ya tomorrow.

    • Hugs and prayers for all!!

    Good  Morning Everyone,

Nancy Z....good cards were not "in the cards" for me yesterday!

Floyd has decided to sell some of his saws, so the gal I volunteer for, and her husband came down last night to see what he had.     I learned that the wooden apple crates I put out in the trash were all antiques, no wonder they disappeared so fast.   Oh well, win some, loose some, they are out of our house!      I sent about 50 puzzles over to the church for their up-coming sale.  The VA won't take any puzzles unless they are new.   I'll bring some down to the Salvation Army, little by little I'll get rid of them.

Merle, congratulations on the lovely Mother's Day gifts!    And you also, Peg, how wonderful for you!

Grace, have the shingles begun to subside at all?

Wishing you all a wonderful day,

    Mabel

A male greater flamingo cares for a day-old chick at the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park on Wednesday, April 30 , 2008, in San Diego, Calif. Flamingos are raised in colonies where the fathers share equal responsibility with the mothers for making nests, incubating eggs and rearing the chicks.

Splotchy, blue clouds, tinged with a glowing peach color on the bottom has given way to the rising sun. They are now a glistening white with a pale blue background. A lone Mockingbird is perched on top of the telephone pole singing a myriad of songs.

Tippy--what a delightful view. I would love to see a variety of birds in my yard, but, alas, since the Mississippi Kites moved in a few short years ago--what little variety that visited my feeders have long since gone away.

    Good morning,

I tried to get into Photo Bucket and for some reason it won't let me. I'm now waiting for them to send me my password as they don't like the one I'm sure is right.

We have no plans for Mother's Day as the kids all live to far away. There probably will be cards coming today.

Making a grocery list and wrote down frozen coconut so I remember to look for it. Need to do some baking today.

Want to get to the store before the crowds do so will run for now and come back later to chat with all of you. I don't like crowded stores!!!

Morning! I’m getting ready for a “day trip”. My niece sold 10 lb bags of Vidalia onions at school (she’s in Pre-K) and we are going to pick them up (50 lbs!!!...10 for us and 40 for my Sis-IL’s sisters here)!! Dad is going with us…he’s been a “yo-yo” with this…but he just called and said he was coming with us. It’s 2 hrs each way so he will be tired when we get home but that is a good thing!! LOL The kids are beside themselves as they are getting “visitors”!!! They are so excited…they have baby birds in sister’s hanging basket!! So I’m sure we will have to see that and no telling what else!!!
Dad’s dr appt was yesterday. I was so pooped from walking all over the medical center and parking lot!! Plus 1000% humidity here…it was horrible…I stayed soaking wet all day…gross!! I am impressed so far with this dr. He said he wanted to help Dad. His primary just says "well, you are 85 yrs old"...what kind of junk is that???  He has to do a 24 urine test Sun. and do bloodwork on Mon. Then we go back 5/22. That week…Dad has a dental appt on Wed, Thurs this new dr followup and on Fri…it’s my cardio. I feel like I’m living in a doctor’s office these days…

Ok, gotta go finish getting ready…

Waving to ALL and filling the baskets with LOTS of hugs and prayers for all!!

Well pooh....can't get into Photobucket...what's up with that??? Will work on that later...!!!

    • Photobucket seems to be having problems.  I just got on and uploaded some new junk.  They want you to change your pass word.  Why I have no idea unless somebody hacked the site! So just change your password.

    • Hugs and prayers for all!!

Good morning from a cool Indiana, it's only 60 out there, the heat is still kicking on.

Doing mounds of laundry today.  How can two people dirty so many clothes.  Just got back from town, had to go to the drug store & post office, forgot to send my friend a Mothers Day card, had to get it in the mail.  Did some checkbook work.  Don't know where we're going for dinner this evening, all I know is I don't have to cook..........yea.

Zora.........the Mother's Day pictures are just beautiful, always enjoy your graphics.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
