    Re: 05/10/08 CS's Chat

    Good Morning!

I was just at Photobucket and I had to change my password. Then I left the site and now when I want to get back in, it won't let me. Guess I'll have to do without graphics for now.

We had snow this morning and the temp was 30º. I am not sure we will ever get spring and summer. It is supposed to get up in the 40's today and they promise 60's for tomorrow. This is the first time that I can remember that we had snow this late in the year. Weird weather this year.

Not much going on around here. We were going to go to Minot to visit DH's mother, but his sister has to work the weekend so we will try to get there next weekend. We may go to the casino this afternoon in Devils Lake. Otherwise, just go to work for excitement.

DSonIL is getting stronger every day. He was able to go to church last Sunday and was happy about that. Of course, they live next door to their church, so it was not a long trip. DD has asked me to babysit her girls in a couple of weeks while she has to go to Atlanta for work related seminars. Will have to make final plans soon.

Tippy, you asked about the wagon train. I think that it is still done every summer. They do different trails and areas each year.

Guess I had better get on with the housework. There is always something to do!

Hugs and Prayers for all CS's. Hope all those who are ailing get well soon.

    Darlene

I did it!!!  Finally got into Photo Bucket using my usual name.   They highly suggested that I get a new password so I made one up and then wrote it down.  Now--maybe I'm back in business.

Got my groceries bought so I can do some baking this weekend.  Haven't had a homemade cookie for ages and I think I need one.

Cilla, you have mail--Hope you enjoyed your day with the kiddies and birds.

    Gotta go for now.

Good afternoon from No. Il.   Don't know where the time  has gone this week, but I don't seem to get on here, usually read most of the posts, but not all.

DS is out mowing, so I've had to run to the gas station for him.  Any of you seen these new gas cans with the funnel and a lever for a handle?  Sure is different than the ones that Norm has used all these years.  So far there are about 40 lots for him to mow, way down from the approx. 300 that Norm had at one time.  Of course there are now about 2100 homes out of 2400 lots, so that sure makes a difference.  When we built, I could see the lake from here, but not any more.

Got a call from youngest DD a bit ago, seems that we are going to have a cookout tomorrow evening at oldest DD's and the girls are going to take me out for breakfast before church, so guess I'll be on the go all day.

I'm slowly getting my act together for my trip next weekend.  I'm going to get off here and start going thru the bag of pictures I found a bit ago.  I'm sure that the cousins will be interested in some of them.

Another mowing call, got to find DS and give him the new addresses.  Take care all.  Pat

    A late howdy for today.

I've been on the run and am heading off to DGD's 6th BD party next.

ZORA~~I have taken pics of the "Little House" cake and wondered if you want me to email them to you as I don't know how to post them here.

Hope everyone is doing better today. (((ROSIE & DAISY))) You know my heart is with you!!!

Bird report today: The Indigo buntings and hummers are back!!!  I think it's complete now as we seem to have everything that summers here.

Opps, I'm being paged to leave. Have a great day!

    Tippy

My fridge is fixed - it needed a new fan..  I had the same thing done some years ago but now it cost $40 more!

My 4 pots of geraniums plus one in the bird bath are in place in the yard but I will wait to plant tomatoes.

I finally got warm by turning the heat up to 81.  It is 95 in Fla. today.  Tonite my #2 son and wife are bringing pizza from our favorite place as I said I'd rather have that than a fancy restaurant for M's Day - and will have a cookout at their house tomorrow.

Wed. I goto a new pain dr, and today rec'd 4 pages to fill out, including the info that if I get pain meds from 2 doctors it is a felony!  Don't want to do that cuz stripes going around are not becoming to my figure.  I don't want strong pills, anyway.  Nancy B

Waving from rural Alberta, Canada. Temperature thingy not working AGAIN, but it's a beautiful afternoon...somewhere between 14 and 16*C. Partly cloudy. The farmers are busy putting fertilizer on their land. DH has been delivering anhydrous ammonia to some farmers and others are speading the dry fertilizer.

Our garden is still too wet to rototill, so potatoes will have to wait. I forgot to pick up garden seeds today. Oh well, there's still time.

I was chuckling about the lost sock posting. You know, Tippy, I've been buying matching sock pairs for many years, so that when one is shot, there's always another sock to match. I have about 4 different styles/colors. There's only the odd time I end up with a single sock...and it makes a great dusting sock. Call me frugal (in that department, anyways).

I wish we'd have a town wide garage or rummage sale HERE. Love those things! The new season of garage sales have just started up. I still have to drive quite a ways to get to them as we're out of town, but if there's enough on, it's more worthwhile, especially with gas prices nowadays.

My floor should be dry enough to put kitchen chairs back around the table. I'll be baking some cookies and loaf cakes after this. DH needs some extras for his lunch, as his days this month will be long ones, with lots of OT

So I'm flying out of here again, Lots of smiles and hugs and best wishes to all.

    Hi, CS.

We had visitors all day. We had a good time, and enjoyed a cook-out for dinner. They just left and are headed home. They have a good three or four hour drive.

TIPPY, the visitors were from "up Nort".

See you all in the morning.

    Re: 05/10/08 CS's Chat

    Hi, everyone,

Anne got home this morning and is very tired. I’m still amazed that the hospital let her go home three days after the surgery. Hope she has a quick, comfortable recovery.

TJ bought himself a van and is coming back tomorrow. It will take him about 7.5 or 8 hours to get home but the roads are good.

Mabel, the shingles are not gone. Actually it’s no longer called shingles. I think shingles refers to the rash. Now it’s called Post Herpetic Neuralgia, and while the shingles part can be brought on by stress, this part is just the damage done by it, and no longer affected by stress. Haven’t heard from the neurologist yet, but I better hear soon because this is driving me crazy.

I’m also getting busy getting rid of all the ‘stuff’ in my house. It’s a struggle ‘cause I’m such a packrat.  I can’t look at the whole house or I’d give up, so I just take a few square feet at a time and sort them out before moving on to the next few square feet. Baby steps. It’s taken me a long time to collect all this junk, so it will take a while to get rid of it. Oh, and I’m NEVER allowed to step into a kitchen store or a kitchen department for the rest of my days! I’d give the best chefs of the world a run for their money in the kitchen gadget department.

Cilla, you really need to take care of yourself. You seem to be back to the same running around you did before your heart attack.

Hugs and good thoughts to everyone.

    Goodnight.

    Grace
