    5/10 Grannie Neighborhood

    Good Morning...

I'm up early...can't tell I'm anxious or anything, can you??LOL  I got a message from DS yesterday that he had left around 1 pm his time (mountain)....so I figure he might be rolling in sometime around noon or so today.  I'm not sure if he was going to stop for the night since he was driving alone, but knowing him he'll drive straight through...about a 20 hr. drive.

Also, today is the annual garden club plant sale.  So I've loaded my wagon in the car and will be there at least a 1/2 hour early since they sell out very fast.  Last year I got there early and was 3rd in line.  Got a good pick of what I wanted.

I put pics of my "new bedroom re-do" on a separate thread for those that might like to see.

Coffee, tea and juice are out on the table....come help yourselves.

Good Morning Cjayh And All To Come ...

Cjayh ... I'm like you today ... anxiously waiting for DS Brian and Trish to come in around 1 o'clock as we will have the family gathered to celebrate today! I was thinking the same thing about getting some plants from a really nice garden spot but don't want to fight the crowds so I'll wait until the beginning of the week. They bring in new plants all the time so hope I will have my turn at a good selection! The bedroom looks great!Yes

LINY ... Saw that you stopped in for a visit last night. I've heard of Brookwood Hall and it's history sounds so interesting .... now I see the connection with LI ..... nice that your DH can reminisce with an old friend and I'm sure your desserts will be a hit.

Going to sip on my coffee and think about which direction I should head first!

John is coming over to spend the day with me and just hang out,  maybe take a walk around the lake.

Last night my dog rolled in something just rotten and had to give  her a double bath she was so bad, she like the bath when its in the lake, just throw the toy she gets wet, wash her up and throw the toy a few more times for rinsing ,lol.  Well I think I will have a cup of coffee and relax.

     Have a great day everyone.

Good morning. Well we finally got the clouds that they were talking about. But, they have lowered the amount of rain that they way we are to get.

Cjayh saw the room and I think it looks very nice. You did get it all done by the time you wanted.

I remember your plant sales from other years and you always seem to get some nice plants at good prices. Good luck this year.

Ma the weather hasn't been helping the nursery centers around here. They are just get most of their stuff now. Have fun with DS and family.

Lakemom the lake does make a good bath tub for the dog. Hope she smells better now.

Don't know what is planned for today. Worked in the back yard a lot yesterday so that is done (as far as I want to go right now anyhow).

Hope everyone has a great day,.

    Hugs and prayers for all.

Lakemom Phewyyyy! That lake sounds like a good way to bathe a stinky dog. You seem to have a nice relaxing day planned with your guyWink I looked in a couple of garden centers this week but didn't see much there. They are prob filled to overflowing with flowers now! I'll get my things later.

Alby somedays it's good not to have a plan  just do whatever you want toBig Smile

    Good Morning everyone.

CJ, I saw your pics and the room looks so clean and fresh and the quilt and pillows describe your home.   Hope you find some nice plants today at a good price.

Marilyn, enjoy the family celebration today.

Rita, that sounds like a very easy way to bathe your dog.

Alby, DS3 was delivering plants and shrubbery to gardening centers all over Iowa and MN this past week.  He had been doing it a few weeks ago to WM and other places. So plants are still coming in.  I think it is funny to hear someone say a certain place has such extra nice plants and yet they all come in on the same truck load and are dropped off at a number of separate garden centers, including WM.

Cloudy and overcast right now. Prediction was for rain, heavy at times. But haven't heard it this morning, so hopefully it will change. DH didn't feel good yesterday, so didn't do any heavy outside work. I did clean one bed and did a little other odds and ends, so really need to get back out at it!

OOPS there's Apple coming in as I'm leaving. Grannies are busy ladies and you're right up there with the busiest ones! Food is always a good topic at our chat time.

Good morning from a cool dreary end of the GN. Kind of hard to get moving this morning.

Buddy got up before 6 this morning but it's DH's turn to take care of "business", so I rolled back over and tried to get back to sleep. Now the stinkers are napping. They should sleep in and skip the nap. hehe

The usual Saturday chores but won't be able to hang anything outside unless i don't want anything to dry. Not much for rain, but enough to make me use the dryer.

Last night's posts about all the goodies, made me gain another 5 pounds. Well, I'll blame it on that anyway. hehe

Tomorrow after dinner we will drive to a neighboring town and get some flowers. DS's friend is working at a flower shop and will give me a 45% discount. Can't beat that. Most will be hanging pots for now, the weather is just too unpredictable to take a chance with my ground plants just yet.

Good luck CJ, i hope you find all that you want.

I've gotta try and get something started here, so will have to say TTYAL. And have a wonderful day.

Good morning, it's sunny today! not real warm temps but I hope to get outside for a while at least.

Wow! last nights posts were great!  LINY,  I'm so glad you were able to visit! wished I would have stayed longer to visit with you and the other grannies!!

GRAMMY  May be a quilt day for you huh?  I'm still just looking at mine and need to get to Joanns to get the material to finish it.  Then it'll be "now how do I do this?"  LOL

APPLE  Now you're just too talented! covers for the outside furniture??  I need to move you here and make you my "bestus friend ever."  LOl

ALBY  I'm hoping DH and I can work outside here.  We have a small pond we want to get in.  Hope your day is a good one.

LAKEMOM  P-U!!  stinky dog!  LOL  Kasha did that at my sisters one time and I mean it was "rank".  Nobody wanted to be near her! but she's not a swimmer so that meant hands on bath.  P-U  big time!

MA  What an exciting day for you and the whole weekend will be special! enjoy all of it!

CJ Thanks for sharing the picture.  Very very nice looking room.  You also enjoy the weekend with DS!  I hope he get there soon.  Have fun picking out your flowers.

Applek, Brrr that is to cold for me to put laundry out, your hands must have been freezing.

Grammyoh, she love getting a bath that way, and it is a lot better outside then trying to do it inside.  John love coming over and sitting on the deck and visiting with my neighbors.

Well I better get myself ready before he gets here.

     Good Morning Grannies...

A quick stop in again....  Thank you all for the hugs. I sure needed them yesterday! One more to go and, hopefully, done for a long time!

Liny it was great to see you here....  hope all is doing what is supposed to be doing....

We actually have sun today!  But the weatherman says it is to cloud up, but no rain. I need some sun for a whole day! It is a bit on the chilly side, too.

Today is "Pole Day" at the Indy track. Very busy around here. DD called last night and was already complaining about the traffic on the main highway near her home.

When we visited my uncle back home, his dog was stinky. We gave him a bath in the lake but it didn't help. We gave him a bath in the yard and it didn't help. Finally, we took him to the vet and he had picked up a bacterial/microbiol infection from rolling in something. A dose of some meds and he was fine. But, WOW, did he stink!

I checked in last night, but it was too late. Sorry I missed everybody...again.

    Re: 5/10 Grannie Neighborhood

Good Morning Ladies -  A quick stop for today - I've been up for awhile, doing some 5's-Haven't even read the paper yet, although it was here!  Still have yesterdays to read too.  Last night, I went to the club for fish with one of the gals from the old neighborhood, as her DH was out of time.  He's an accountant, so after tax season, he usually does a  camping trip with the boys and then a fishing trip-so we usually get together and dine or shop or both.  GF's DM is coming over today and we are doing the mints.  I offered to do them from the get-go, but she didn't want them, since she didn't like them, but her DM has convienced her to have them-and she agreeed, as long as she didn't have to be involved with them-So now she asked me to help - - -

Lily, I think the difference in the nice plants all coming off the same truck, is in how they take care of them after they get to the garden centers.  Some of them do a much better job of that then others.  I stopped after work yesterday, and got 2 baskets for my front porch.  I got the deep purple little petunias.  They look nice against the light yellow siding.  I had them last year too.  I had GC's from Christmas and also cash for Mothers Day to use for these and still have some left.  I will go back and get some purple wave petunias to put in the little bench planter that DH built for DM, and I brought home again.  I will wait a bit, but knew the baskets would be picked over after MD.  These people raise their own, and do a nice job with them.

Gotta go - - CJ, enjoy-sounds like a special weekend for you.
