Hoos I am so sorry to hear about your niece. That is just awful. Prayer's out for the whole family.

We had such a great time yesterday riding. The weather was perfect for riding. When we got back we all headed up north to see the people that just got in from Mexico. Of course they stopped at the bar so all that rode with us went there. We had a great time visiting with them.

Today is just about kicking back.

Coffee is done.

We just walked in the door from church and the phone was ringing.

It was my credit card company, someone booked a flight to Maylasia on it.

This was the new credit card I just got replacing the one where I was getting all that stuff in the mail that I never ordered. I'm still dealing with that, now this.

Jane, I just got a phone call from Mary Beth to wish me a happy mother's day. She is in Cedar Rapids for a week, then Chicago and in June she goes to Egypt. This job really has her moving around. 

I just posted pictures from Tiffany's Formal last night.....they are in a seperate post!!

 Happy Mothers Day to each of you - I know most of us are mothers, but we all are daughters, so it should be a day for all of the women. I hope you all enjoy it and can do what ever your heart would like to do.

Maizey-Cedar Rapids is about 2 1/2 hours from me.  I am suppost to go their next Sunday for comfirmation, but not sure that I will.  What does she do.  I know lost of people there.

Hoos, I was sorry to hear of the sadness in your family.  Congratulations Jer -  WHere has that time gone to?  I was just thinking about that this morning as church today was also Sr. Sunday.  The Seniors do most of the service and some of them speak about the memories they have growing up in this congreation and what it means to them.. It's always an emotional Sunday.  I realized it was 17 years ago that DD was one of the speakers, and 10 that DS was a reader.  No wonder my body is creaking!

I've continued wht the tradition I started after Mom died - I still buy a card, and send it to someone different each year in her memory.. I tell them what I am doing and that we can both share some memories of her today.  This year, it went to a cousin of hers.

DS & GF called and invited me, along with her Mom to dinner this evening.  I am to be there at 4:00PM aand "could" I bring that baked corn with the macoroni in it?  It's thier new favorite dish.

Gotta go.

Thinking of each of your today and I hope you all enjoy it.

Hoos, I am so sorry about your niece.  I can't believe either that Jer is graduating!  Boy, time flies.  That's so funny about your looking at your old pictures.  I know what you mean about looking them at the time and wishing you could lose another ten pounds.  Oh, if we only had REALLY known!!! I wish I was a skinny now as then when I thought I was fat! What was I thinking?????

Jane, that is nice you're going out to dinner.  Have a great time. I love that you send a Mothers Day card. What a nice way to honor your mother!

Maizey, I'm also wondering what you dd does. Pharmasuticals?? I've been in Cedar Rapids. It's a nice small city. It was a biz trip too, but there was so much snow I couldn't get around that much to see anything!

Tango, how did you ever think to pull thread around the button! You're a genious! You no doubt saved yourself a bundle!  Good job!

I'm going to plant myself in front of the tv for the rest of the day.  I had such a busy week I deserve a day of nothingness!  Even have a chick flick to watch later.

Everyone just left a 1/2 hour ago. It was a great day!! Wonderful food and then we came back to our home for wine and fruit

I have a load in the washer now and then I think I will rest my butt in front of the tv with Roma :)

Jane, I remember you telling us about your Mother's Day card tradition last year :) What an excellent idea! I know you must brighten the card bearer day immensly... Have fun out tonight!!

We had 1.5" of rain today. It seems to be over now... They are promising sun tomorrrow and Tuesday... Oh and my heat still kicked on overnight. I have the thermastat set at 68, so if it dips below that it will kick on... Have not had the AC on yet, but I'm sure it won't be long ~~~

 Everyone just left here a short while ago; and it's time to unwind.

Those grandkids never get tired.

Mary Beth is in charge of all Egyptian students coming to the junior colleges in the Northwest. I'm not sure if it is just Egyptians or not; but she has a master's degree in Arabic studies from Georgetown and after that she spent a year at the American Univ in Cairo where all the classes were in Arabic. The reason why she is in Cedar Rapids is because the program is headquartered there.It's a State Department program.

I have a Reuben casserole in the oven.

We couldn't make it to  Lisa's house for a cookout for Mother's Day.

Valerie made me a Lemon Pound Cake.....my favorite.

I stole this from over in BYC!!

I've been using aluminum foil for more years than I care
to remember. Great stuff, but sometimes it can be a pain. You know, like
when you are in the middle of doing something and you try to pull some
foil out and the roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the
roll back in the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at
the wrong time.


Well, I would like to share this with you. Yesterday I
went to throw out an empty Reynolds foil box and for some reason I
turned it and looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it
said, "Press here to lock end". Right there on the end of the box is a
tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been
there? I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had
one, too. I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too! I
can't count the number of times the Saran warp roll has jumped out when
I was trying to cover something up.



I hope I'm not the only person that didn't know about this.
