    Happy Mother's Day!

Got hanging plants for the patio and calls from DD#2 and DGC. Now, it will be a quiet afternoon. And, it is gray and rainy. Still waiting for May weather.

Hi all. Happy Mother's Day! Quiet one here today. Jason has the flu or something so he slept all day. Hayley gave me a flower in a cute little flowerpot that she painted at school. There was also a letter from her saying why I'm a good mom. It was sweet.

I hope you are all having a great day!

Cassie ~ Mommy to Hayley and Connor, wife to Jason, my third kid!!

    Good morning.

Just plain nothing yesterday. Both kids called and Lyle made dinner. Hamburger sandwich. He was going to take me out but darn I didn't want to get dressed.

Today is cleaning. Well some anyway. Hayley has a game tonight so will go to that.

Good morning!  Just a short note to say "hi" before I head off to work.  I didn't get home last night until about 8:30.  I worked late and then went to a PTO meeting at school that lasted way longer than one ever has before and then, I picked Taryn up and took her to the bookstore for a book that she HAD to have last night.  Whatever would she do in school today without one?  Tonight is her band program at school, so it's going to be another late night for us.  We'll have to eat on the run when we get home to get her back to school on time.

    Have a great day!

I don't know how to act, I actually have a few minutes to post.

Denise, you have helped raise a few children, so I hope you had a nice Sunday.  My arts and craft show was a big floppo. Just no traffic came through. They planned it on the same day as the Komen breast cancer run, and that is a big event here. I did sell, just not a lot, but made some contacts for future orders. There were three Stampin Up tables in one room, and one of them was proud of there stuff. Really over priced, and they sold not one thing. I don't know what they are thinking. Gas is almost $4.00 a gallon here, and they want $4.00 for a simple stamped card, not going to happen.

Well, I brought my chalks, and some stmaps, so I am going to play in between patients. Anyone wants me, come look in the darkroom, and a cloud of chalk dust.

    Happy Tuesday!!

Hope you all had a good mother's day.  My computer is still acting up, so I will post what I can when I can.  My element for the challenge seems to not be where I left it.  Guess I'll hunt it down.  Need to get busy with that.  Went to the doctor last week and finally got x-rays.  Yesterday I heard back.  I have degenerative joint disorder (osteo arthritis) in both knees.  I will be going to and orthopedic doctor as soon as I get the paperwork.  Unfortunately I can't be seen at the clinic on base.  Hopefully the paperwork will come in this week so I can get something scheduled.  According to my primary care doctor, I will be seen much sooner off post than I would be able to be seen on post.  Anyway, this is why the physical therapy has not helped me.  They aren't treating the real problem.  Time to run.  Got lots to do.

    Kim

If the kids are still alive at the end of the day, then I've done my job.

Oh man Kim, that stinks. At least now you know what the issue is and can go forward with a treatment. I hope they are able to get you what need, fast.

I was supposed to teach a class at the Y tonite. Spent most of yesterday cutting. They post-poned it today. Ugh. Now it will be in June. I am going to offer it at my crop this weekend though.

Seems all the kids got their snotty noses back. Ick! It was a nice break for a while when they dried up. Jason still doesn't feel well either.

Tayp, some people amaze me also on what they charge for cards and stuff. More amazing is the people who will actually pay HUGE amounts of money for cards and pages. I have seen some listings on ebay that are outrageous. Hundreds of dollors for a scrapbook layout. $50-60 for a card. Holy Cow!!

    Have a great day everyone.

Hello Everyone!  Glad you all enjoyed your weekend.

I have been having cable, internet and computer problems.  UGH.  Well, at least the computer is up and working and the Internet.

Jacob is hoe sick today.  His temp came and went and came again throughout the day today.  I wanted to go out to dinner to celebrate moms day and that Ryan did awsome at the dentist today.  Looks like we will not go - Jacob s temp came back again.

Nothing going on around these parts.  Hope you all are doing well.

    Good morning.

Yeah Cass now I get to take the class. She did a awesome job on the layouts. I love the paper.

Nothing new here. Just work and whatever. Was supposed to go to Hayley's game today but am having to go out two other times this week so think I will skip the game to save gas. Cass if you do need me there to help let me know.

Off to get ready for work.

    Re: MissLizzy's Scrappin'&Stampin' Group May 11-17

Here are some card making tips I found on line. Hope you can learn something new. I didn't know about using versamark with staining ink. I hate dirty looking stamps! I will be using that tip for sure. Enjoy, MrsCrickets

    1. Keep all the scrap paper. You can use them to punch out punchies. (punchies: what you punch out with your paper punches)

    2. Put a pack of Baby Wipe nearby to clean your rubber stamps in-between change of colors.

    3. Ink your stamp with Versamark ink before using Stazon, Brilliance inks or any other difficult to clean ink.

    4. Use washable inkpads when making cards with children. Children love to stamp on their hands and arms.

    5. Keep a notebook beside you on your bedside table to jot down card making ideas in the night.

    6. To make your masking tape less sticky, just stick it on your jeans or skirt first.

    7. Store your rubber stamps away from direct sunlight and heat.

    8. Dap a blob of repositionable adhesive on the back of card or elements that you want to attach to your main card blank. Move them around till you are sure about their placements.

    9. If you have to have beverages while working on your cards, place your drinks on a separate side table.

    10. Use poly bags to store your made cards especially if you have included some 3D embellishments.

    11. Use the back of the mousepad to stamp, emboss foil or to shape your paper or punchies.

    12. Make some everyday cards without any sayings. When you need a quick card for a birthday or to say "Thank You", just add the words.

    13. Dab a bit of glue on the end of the thread to stiften it before you thread your beads.

    14. Store your markers horizontally.

    15. Store your not so juicy inkpads upside down to let the ink sink to the top of the pads.

    16. Stamp some images on white cardstocks with black pigment ink and carry them in your purse with a small pack of color pencils. Color them during waiting time.

    17. Dip a brush in water and paint your shape on the paper, pull paper apart with your hands to give a lovely feathered edge to your shape.

    18. Lightly sand your shrink plastic first before stamping on it.

    19. Not sure what color card to use to layer your image on? Choose a color from the image.

    20. When folding your card stock, use one and a quarter inch wallpaper roller on the fold for a professional look. ~ contributed by Janice Seastream (U.S.A.)

    21. Put loose glitter/sparkle in a salt or pepper shaker for easy distribution. ~ contributed by Janice Swift (Australia)

    22. If the rubber on your rubber stamps are turning white, wipe a light coat of glycerin over the rubber to avoid ghosting. You can find glycerin at your local pharmacy.

    23. Shake your chalk re-inker by putting it in a sock and spin it!

    Re: MissLizzy's Scrappin'&Stampin' Group May 11-17

Great ideas, copying off. I found a drink holder that screws on the edge of a table, less worry about spills. I also found a large box, at WalMart that holds the hanging file folders. I can file my scraps away, in individual files, and organize by colors. As I scrap, I throw the pieces in a rubbermaid tub, then organize and file away. Keeps room neater.  I also found wooden cubes at the Dollar General, much cheaper than Target, or Michael's.

Any one else got any tips, or bargain finds?

    Re: MissLizzy's Scrappin'&Stampin' Group May 11-17

    Hi, everyone.

DH is off to a sports seminar, so I have a couple of hours alone. I will try and collect and organize my punches.

MRS CRICKETS, I, too, copied your hints and will share them with stamping friends at church.

PATRICE, I like the idea of the hanging folders. I did find clear plastic envelopes at the Dollar Tree. I use them for sorting or carrying my work for a night of stamping at a friends. I have a small open carry-all for my stamp pads, stamps and supplies, bought it at Michaels with a coupon. That way I don't have to lug my rolling cart.

When I do the OSW, I leave the words off until I need a card.

    Have a good day, everyone.

    Nancy Z.
