Hi...I'm New!

Just wanted to take a moment to say hello....I'm new!  I love the layout of this great website and know I will enjoy the recipes as well as new friendships.  I've not had much of a chance to browse around this group yet but I loved the group description!

I'm a wife, mom, home-maker, and love to read, cross-stitch, and volunteer at my church.  I also love flowers (but am still learning about all the varieties) and enjoy cooking and baking.  Sometimes I get tired of it though....because I often fall back on the same old recipes week to week.  I'm trying to venture out into new things!

I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis about 6 years ago (at first they said it was Lupus....but later changed my diagnosis after my blood work began to show positive signs of RA).  I see my rheumatologist regularly and am currently getting ready to begin a new treatment.  I have been blessed since my disease has pretty much been under control with not too much medication so far.  I am able to lead a very active life, with only occassional flare-ups, where I have learned to back off and take it easy.

 Hi hun welcome to the group, I am kinda new too, these are awesome women!  I am Jessica 22 engaged housewife and student!  Going to school for accounting!  We have a pup named scruffy!  My guy is 24 in the Army, we are getting married in July on the 12th!  Welcome again hun!  You will love it here!  They are all wonderful and so sweet!  Hugs!

I'm a 51yo single mom with 2 at home.  Andy is almost 15 and Kate is 17.  Dan, my eldest is 29 and is married.  They've blessed me with my 2 grandkids, DJ is 10, Lynne is 6.  I work more than full time as an assistant manager for the largest retailer.  I love angels, birds and bird houses.  If I didn't work so much I'd enjoy nature walks, walks on the beach, traveling......... etc.  But right now I can only dream!  I've been with this lovely group of lady's for almost 4 years.  It's the best group around!  I live in SE/GA, so close to Florida that I can smell the funnel cakes thay make in the Magic Kingdom!  LOL, not really.... I dream about that, too!

I'm Jill.  I'm a wife, mother and part time home health nurse.  Been married almost 31 years to DH, have 3 children 29, 27 and 25.  My youngest just graduated from vet school this weekend and will be working in town, moved in with her oldest DS yesterday.  DS and his wife are getting a puppy today.  We live on teh Eastern shore MD in the country.   Love to cook, garden, read and am working on a quilt for my oldest.

Do you have a favorite author? I enjoy Danielle Steel, and Nora Roberts, but I'm open to just about anything. The only books I'm not really interested in is thriller type books.

Wow guys, what a great welcome wagon!  LOL  Thanks so much for all the great posts...it is wonderful to know other ladies out there.  Those of you who mentioned your precious pets made me realize that I have forgotten to tell you about mine (oops)!  Our family has 4 (yes, FOUR) cats....all are dearly loved and spoiled.  My twin daughters are such animal lovers, they would have several of every kind of animal if I'd let them.  Since we live in town, we have indoor cats (except for the oldest one, Maggie, who started outdoors at first and still likes to sneak out to chase the birds every once in a while....Maggie is 13!)

My daughters love animals so much that they are vegetarians, which has kept me on my toes with hunting down great recipes.  As far as reading goes, I love true crime best (such as Ann Rule) but also love inspirational fiction.  I really enjoyed the "Love Comes Softly" series (and the Hallmark movies, too).
