Hi...I'm New!

Well shucks....I forgot to tell you that I collect gingerbread men!!!  I don't know how many I have (maybe 100 or more?), but my friends are always adding to my collection...especially at the Christmas holidays!  I have a couple cabinets full of different kinds....and then I leave some of them out all year round (the ones that don't look too "christmasy").  My kitchen is full of the little guys and it really cheers me up to see them "hanging" around....

My name is Kim and I am a SAHM.  I have two kids Dylan almost 9 and Caitlyn who is 10.  My husband, Joe, is in the Army and we are currently stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA.  We also have a 6 year old cairn terrier mix.  This is a wonderful group of ladies and I'm sure you'll find some wonderful support and recipes.

I am 50, I was married for almost 25 years. My DH passed away in August of 2005. we never managed to have kids (I had lots of miscarriages). I do have a brother in TN and another sort of adopted brother in IN. And I have 2 dogs and a cat. The cat is in heat right now. My first experience with a cat in heat. Anybody want a cat for a few weeks (LOL)?

I work full time at the post office and have for 23 years. I am also an RN. Worked at Banner Good Samaritan hospital for 8 years, took a year off the year my DH died, have been working registry for a little over a year on one of my days off at the post office. Am fed up with registry. Going back to Banner soon. Have orientation the first couple of weeks of June. I live in Phoenix AZ. I play piano and am the parish nurse at my church (both are voluntary) I love cooking, swimming, collecting things like Thomas Kincaid lighthouses and a few other things.

SherryS....sorry to hear about your DH.  That had to be a difficult time and I'm sure you still miss him.  I'm also sorry about your miscarriages.....it is nice to think that one day you will see your babies in heaven.

We have had our cats "fixed" but I have seen one in heat before....its rough-LOL

I see you like to volunteer at your church too.  I wish I could play the piano well enough to play in church.....I don't practice enough and then I get nervous! LOL
