    Is America ready for this?

.In Larry King's recent interview with Jon Stewart, Larry brought up the
subject of the primaries and asked him if America is ready for a woman
    or a black president.

Jon looked at him quizzically and said, "This is such a non-question.
Did anyone ask us in 2000 if Americans were ready for a moron?"

That was the moment I gave up on this country Grelo.  Frankly, it deserves him.

I don't know.  First off, he was never elected in the first place...he was selected by The Supremes,  cronies of his dad's.  Second off, I really don't believe he was 'elected' the second time either...it was more like it was 'stolen.'   But, I'll admit the dumbing down of America (which seems to get more popular on a daily basis) has caused me to lose faith in my country women and men.   That does make me feel a little low.  I don't even recognize my country anymore since it's been FUBAR...and that makes me angry.

I sure hear you, Widdle. If we are to get our country back, we need to make being stupid uncool. I don't know when dumb became fashionable, but we need to ignore (I wanted to say "reject," but that seemed too extreme) the Paris Hiltons of the world and start glorifying people who actually do something positive.

    You go, Jon Stewart!

The dumbing down of America is extremely sad especially when you consider everyone has access to free primary & secondary education. Also, most everyone has access to the internet and TV -- both of which do have many ways to learn. Sadly, what is most attractive is stupidity.

"Reject" work's for me, Aashlee!  We are in an extremely dangerous place right now which calls for extreme measures to salvage what's left.  If anything.Sad   If we don't reject this 'dumb and dumber' mentality how can things possibly get any better?

Doesn't sound extreme to me either, it sounds right on!

I guess I want to reject the stupidity without rejecting my fellow countrymen. I guess what I want is to guide them, not leave them behind in the ditch. Patriotism is more than saluting a flag or reciting a pledge; it's making a commitment to one another. I want all of us to get better, be better, and prosper.

So, here's to intelligent people who have the smarts to help us all.

It's a non-question to me, too. People are people who should be judged by the content of their character.
