I hope you all had a great weekend and nice Mother's Day!

I though this week would would post our favorite veggie recipes!

My garden is planted and I can not wait to taste the first lettuce of the season!

Mine is mostly a soup garden this year, next year will be another pickling garden.

So please, pop in to say Hi and share a recipe or 2.

Just getitng ready to take DD to work.

It is going to be a gorgeous day so I wll be outside for most of it. I need to finish weeding the front yard, top up all the bark mulch and finish scrubbing the fountain and get it up and running.

It was a nice weekend, I got tons of work done!!!!
We did not go to the gravel pit yeasterday, we have decdied to get on load of gravel delivered! So it will only be half the job, which is fine by me.

But I have to go for now,

Morning all!  Had a super mother's day.  Special concert at church was wonderful!  After that, we went to FIL's country club for lunch.  WE are the poor relations in the family, so we feel very privileged to eat at a country club!  It was fabulous, as usual.  DH and I went to see Iron Man, after our teen boys insisted it was the coolest movie ever.  I give it a 6.5.  It was entertaining, but  if you're not a fan of Marvel comics, I think you don't quite get it.

 Today, I'm tired.  My allergies are in rare form- and DD was not feeling well last night.  I may cancel school today and relax......

Good morning Redawana and Belinda, had a nice quiet Mothers Day here. DH bought us breakfast and after that we went for a walk. DD made me a beautiful card in school w/ her picture on it and gave me a plant. Had a honey do list for DH of things I didn't want to do, one of them was cleaning the gas grill. He did a great job and now it's sparkling clean.

Belinda, Everyone w/ allergy problems are suffering here as well. DH says his eyes feel as though they were rolled in dust.

I'm so aggravated w/ myself! I was cleaning the bathroom and accidently brok the cover to the toilet tank, it now has a big crack in it. Wait until DH sees it! I should've taken a nap first like I wanted to.

We don't have a garden (DH doesn't trust the soil) but we do get garden goodies from friends. Oh how I love this time of year.

Baby is sleeping so I'm going to rest too.

Good morning all

I am sorry I have been so MIA lately. So much is going on around here.

Mom had an episode or so the doctor thoght it was another stroke, but it turned out to be a severe case of the flu and a colon infection,that was the result of another blood clot. So Mom spent a few days in the hospital,she is now home and doing alot better. She had gotten so dehydrated from the colon infection( it had made her incontenate? ) that her mind was in an altered state. That was one of the reasons the dr. thought it was a stroke.

We went out of town last week to see the new parsonage and have a look at the new churches DH will be preaching at in June. We  got to meet alot of the church members both churches had a reception for us.

The people seem so nice and friendly. I think it will be a good move.

The parsonage?????? well it has good "bones" it just needs a little love and a lot of paint and a good scrubbing. It is bigger than our parsonage now , but the layout is not as good. The kitchen has new appliances but it needs new counters(chipped), and the cabinets are in bad shaped, missing hardware  too. The floor is just awfull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  But , it is large and I will work with it an do something not sure what. The furniture in the house is worn out.

We can not financially at this time buy our own furniture so it will have to do. I am going yard selling and consignment store shopping, moving sells too. I made find something( I usually do

Cyndi, it is so nice seeing you! Youw ill have to email me your need mailing address for the Recipe Swap. Or if you need to stop for a bit, with the move coming up,let me know. Well glad your mom did not have anoter stroke, hope she is feeling better everyday. Sounds like a nice move for you (the people)!!!! You know I would come and give a hand with painting or packing if I could. Have a good day!

I have so much to do, kind of feeling guilty sitting here, I will have to head out shortly. I am only half sore today! That crawling around on the ground really works the muscles! But my backyard is looking good so I can handle the sore muscles!

 Nancy- bummer on the tank lid!  I had to tell DS yesterday that I forgot to pay the phone bill last month and now we are due for 2 months-oooops!

 hi everyone,

 hope everyone's mother's day was great.   my son lives in western ny, so i didn't get to see him, but he did call.

i worked yesterday at the deli.  we were busy as usual and had 1 call off and 1 walk out so our boss had to come in...an hours drive for him.  he was so upset and he told me he  thought he was going to quit.  i haven't heard anything from the deli today so perhaps he has settled down.

i put on a pot of chili for supper but before that i made a new dish to me.  chicken adobo...a dish from the phillipines...a girl at work who is from there told me how to make it.  DH will never never eat it because it has an asian flovor which he dislikes, but since i like it...it's llunch for me for a few days.

 DH's daughter has finished her second year at university and is leaving for London nexr month to study abroad for 7 weeks.....to the tune of $9200.

 our garden is tilled and fertilized but not planted yet.  maybe next week when all of this rain ends.

Belinda I hope you and DD start to feel better quickly. I can tell DS's are fixing to act up he was sneezing alot this morning.

Cyndi I am glad it wasn't a stoke. Hope mom gets better quickly.

Redawna Is your weather any better this week? What did you think about the outcome last night on Survivor? And that one question? I think it kinda surprised everyone. Their looks sure do change inbetween the time on the island and when they tell the winner.

Mary Ouch for the pocketbook but what a wonderful chance to get to go and study in London.

I did have a nice Mother's day too. We went with DH's mom to their church and had lunch with them, then we came home and I went to my Aunt's. I had made her a strawberry shortcake from my uncle and we had cake and coffee. All in all it was a great day. Today I have spent the day cleaning. I took back a pair of shoes I bought because the strap broke, replaced them, got some colorful dessert cups and some much needed dish cloths.

This is the last week for oldest DS in school. We are counting down the days!! But 2 weeks left for youngest DS.

Hi Mary, so great to see you posting!!!!!! What is DD taking in London for studies? How exciting!

Well I am waiting for a BIG load of gravel!!!!!!! DH went and paid for it this morning. They will dump it on the driveway!!!!! I am so excited!!!!!!!!!! I have wanted this job done for the past 2 years but have had to wait for a few reasons so this is just great!

I will post a few pictures next so you can see where it is going and what I have been up to!

During:  All the fabric areas will be covered with the gravel.

And it is also going down the east and south sides of the garage and also down the north side of the house. It is going to look so nice with all that exposed dirt covered!!!! And I am laying down some industrial strength landscape fabric first so we will have minimal weeds when it is all done.

I have had a chill all day so I have been working inside. It is nice and sunny out but the breeze is making me extremely cold. I think it is from a lack of sleep, not getting enough rest lately. Most due to my sore muscles from crawling around the backyard for 12 hours. But it is so worth it.
