    Homemade Fat Free Evaporated Milk

    Use Fat Free Powdered Milk but use 1/2 the water called for .

    Have you ever tried this in a pumpkin pie recipe that calls for evaporated milk?

     Me too...and my mother's been using it in anything that calls for evap for at least 50 years!

    You mean if the recipe calls for 1 cup evap. milk, you would use 1/2 cup water? And it isn't runny?

    On your container of powdered fat free milk, It gives the amount of water to reconstitute it to make a quart of  liquid  fat free milk, To make a pint of equivalent fat free evaporated milk use the amount of powdered milk to make a quart but  use half the water called for.Then you use this cup for cup in your recipe.
