    Flyladies Report - 5/12 - 5/18/08

    Good Morning everyone.

Zone 3, Main Bathroom and another room.  This week that other room will be the Laundry Room.

The Bathroom:  Clean around the backside and the sides of our toilets.  Wipe down all the surfaces.

Laundry Room:Today we are going to declutter all of the laundry supplies that we have hanging around.  Toss whatever you do not use or do not like.  This also means to toss all of those empty boxes and bottles that pile up.

    Linda - Happy belated Anniversary.

Alphy - Glad to hear you got home safely.  Best that you do split up the trip like you did.  To much driving gets stressful.  You missed a 97 degree day in AZ yesterday.  Don't know about Sat. because we left early to go to the Grand Canyon.  It was nice and cool there.  DD drove the 400 + miles there and her BF did most of the driving to get us home.

All in All we had a very nice little vacation.  We had a tour of LV, did some gambleing, then got to Phx. and went right to the Hooding ceremony.   The Hood is a symbol of earning a Masters degree.  Not worn on the head but it hangs down the back of the gown and shows the school colors.  When that was over DD brought us to a Ghost town, Goldfield, AZ.  Maybe Alphy knows of it?  History lesson!  Makes you very glad you didn't have to live back in those days.  Then the graduation ceremony was the next day.  I'm so glad it was just graduation from ASU's College of Education.  There must have been close to 600 graduates.  Then the Grand Canyon on Sat. and an antique mall on Sun.  Yes I did find something small to bring home.  Actually it's a gift for a friend.  Last Christmas I gave her individual salt dishes and I know she has been looking for the little spoons.  She did find a few so I looked for and found a few but only got one.  Its stirling silver and so tiny but cost $20.00!

The bags are mostly unpacked and put away or in laundry!  Oh we also brought home a very large suitcase of DD's clothes.  I have to hang them up for her.  She still will have a car full of stuff when she moves!  Better go attend to the laundry.  The dryer is calling.  Third tub going in next.

Have a wonderful day.  I'll try to stop in later.

    Dori

    Good morning everyone.

Kelly's mission:  We are combining the bathroom and laundry room today.  Take your bathroom rugs, all the fuzzy stuff on your toilet, and the towels that are just for show and wash them.  While you are in the laundry room grab an old rag or washcloth and wipe down the lid of the washing machine and dryer.  While the rugs are in the washer sweep the bathroom floor and wash it.  When the rugs are finished put them back in your wonderful smelling bathroom.

Yes Linda, 97 degrees.  I'm not ready for that heat yet but Phoenix is in the desert so that's pretty much what I expected.  Stick out tongue  Good luck to your dd on her finals this week.

I still have a pile of papers to go through.  News papers mostly.  I did get to some of them last night.  More laundry, bills to pay, and a grocery store run.  My SIL picked up milk and bananas so I wouldn't have to run out yesterday.  We always do that for one another.

Off to the shower/shampoo.  I'll try to get back later.  Hope some more of our group stop in sometime.

    Have a great day.

    Good morning everyone,

I washed my br rug last week and wiped down the washer and dryer over the weekend so don't have much to do. It's garbage day tom. so I should get the garbage and recycling together.

This is the 2nd time I started this because there's so much to touch with the mouse I accidently touch something and I loose what I'm writing. Angry I don't remember all what I was saying, but here it goes...

I recieved an ecard today from J.,  A Happy Mother's Day ecard. He sent me recent pictures of his adopted son and his older one. They look quite cute together and r they getting big. I'm glad he remembered me.

I go to the thyroid dr. tom. and I got to get it together and face her. She wanted me to have a radiation treatment. She didn't explain it very well and scared the H out of me so I just cancelled. I've got some ?'s to ask and right now I'm drawing a blank. Just hope I can think of some and write them down so I can find out some answers that I've been thinking.

Dori, thanks, she has her last final Thurs. and than I can really do the garden. I couldn't finish it yesterday because I couldn't pound in the teepee. I tried green beens on the poles last year, but didn't have a great crop because of hardly no rain, so thought I'd give it another try.

I still have to finish the laundry and sweep the floors so I better get going for now. It's such a nice morning and this afternoon it's suppose to rain out again so I better get going. Take care. Big Smile

Dori, glad you, too, are home safe....97 is hot, I don't care how dry they say it is...but we could use a bit of it here.  I don't like turning the electric blanket on at night!

Linda, good luck at the Dr., and keep us informed.

I am off to play bridge this afternoon.  We pretty much have everything put away.  Now need to go through some clothing and see what I can do without!  Wild salmon from our freezer, thawed and ready to grill (if it doesn't rain) or bake tonight...also green bean bundles, which look so nice, and are so easy.

will check in later...now I will enable this, so I see when someone has come on.

grr.....why, so often, does error report come up when I try to send something on this site?  Then it shuts it down, and I have to go back to start all over again.

    Hi again.

Just a quick note. I have to go to DH's shop and take him to a meeting tonight.  Poor guy.  He wants to drive but I think he does understand why I've said I wish he wouldn't drive.  Soooooo I get to put a lot of miles behind the wheel.  Smile

Alphy - I wish whatever gremlins are bugging your computers would just go someplace else.  At least your post got on this time.  I've had that error page come up too and the post did go through.

Linda - Nice that J thought of you with the card and is keeping in touch.

Better get going.  I told DH I'd be over about 4:15 and it's 4:07 now.  oops!

    Have a great evening.

    Hi,

Got the dishes done, all the garbage and recycling out the door now I do have 1 more thing and that's to clean kitty litter. That should be out by tom. also.

Dd is at work, ds#2 and gf r at the movies, and ds#1 left also. Dh should be home shortly and should make the chicken etc. for supper.

alphy, good to see u made it ok. It's cool up in the twin cities also. I put on my slippers and they warm up my feet and I'm good. I do like winters but the cold I could do with out. lol

Dori, u r busy. Can't your dh drive any more?? It would help alot.

Bil called today and he's the one still in AZ. He told me it's hot but they have a breeze where they r at. He said it helps alot.

I better get franny in gear and get busy.

    Everyone have a great evening.

    Good morning everyone.

Kelly's Mission:  For the Bathroom:  Clean the mirror and the sink.

Laundry room:  Clean out your lint filter and double check the dryer hose.  Also look underneath your dryer.  Built up lint is a leading cause of house fires.

Linda - I agree with you about the cold!  At least we can layer clothing and wear warm slippers or boots but we can't take off to much in the summer.  Wink   DH still has his license and wants to drive but with the Parkinson's slowing him down I would rather he didn't.  His reaction time is slower and even his thinking has slowed down.  He still has all his mental abilities but it just takes him longer now to answer a question or remember where he put something or where we store things.  Looks like you got a lot done yesterday.

We went to DH's meeting last night.  Small turnout so although it's a club that I'm not a member of I sat with the men and had dinner after the meeting.  Had a very nice meal.  Tonight DH has another meeting, usually much bigger group, with cake and coffee after.  I called one of the other wives and she might be joining me....keeping me company while the men have the meeting.  I usually bring a magazine to that meeting.

Off to take care of the laundry then call my SIL.  She is having vision problems and I want to find out what the Dr. said about it yesterday.

    Have a great day.

    Good morning everyone,

I finally got the last load in the dryer. It usually takes a day, sometime 2.

I haven't gone to the dr. yet. Have to bring dgs, so I hope I'll hold my temper while I'm there.

He's taking a nap before we go and so should I.

I finally bought a brush to clean out my dryer. It works well. We do the hose in the Spring and fall. Haven't done it yet so we better get at it.

I understand about u driving. Don't blame u. When my Dad was getting up there I worried about him. He went slow and easy towards the end. Now I have to worry about Mom.  Luckily she lives in a small town.  They can drive easy there. Mom doesn't like to drive in the cities anymore so don't see her here often. Actually I don't blame her, I don't like to drive down here much either.

Well, I think I will lay down before I go. Will chat later. Take care. Big Smile

Hi Dori and Linda.  Dori, didn't realize your hubby was bad enough that he shouldn't drive.  I think I have told you, we have so very many people in our little town of 3000, with Parkinson's.  It is a horrible disease, and some day...they will find a cure, don't we hope?  My brother had ALS....also a crippling disease.

Linda, be sure to let us know about your Dr appointment!

yesterday I checked in on recipes...the low carb group, they seem to be nice people too.  I have low carbed it since it was first popular, and I don't mind it at all.  Can't always find low carb foods anymore...like yogurt, which I like....so have to make your own things.

    I had better get busy.

    Re: Flyladies Report - 5/12 - 5/18/08

    Hello Everyone,

It's been a hectic week for me.  My assistant is on vacation this week.  I have been going in at 7:00AM  and working till 4:30 every day.  I have been getting a lot of help from our IT Manager and the secretary in our other division.  They've been great.  This is where the cross training comes in handy!  He ran my payroll and is doing the deposits and doing the Fedex and UPS shipments on the computer.  She's doing all the filing, answering the phone, also doing shipments.  It's leaving me free to handle the receivables and payables.  It's kind of nice to get back into the nitty gritty of stuff she usually takes care of.  Keeps me sharp.

I had to take an hour and go to the doctor today.  I have been hacking and coughing for about three weeks now.  Came to the conclusion that my asthma is out of control.  The doctor put me on Prednisone (a steroid).  My DD thinks it's cool that her Mom is on steroids.  Not the same thing as the ballplayers at all!  I hope it kicks this crud out of me.

Oh, my Flylady stuff?  It's been quite a challenge around here.  We now have the bathroom demolition done.  The tile man came yesterday and laid the tile floor.  He grouted it today.  The floor is beautiful!  We have a lot of work to do just selecting the cabinetry and fixtures, etc.  It's so hard to find time to get together and do this stuff.  Since we're working with an interior decorator we are buying everything from her and she does business with wholesale places that are open business hours (like the ones I work).  Some things we will get by running to Menards or Home Depot, but the major stuff we're getting from her.

DD not feeling good today.  She hurled her Sloppy Joe dinner a little while ago.  Kind of unusual for her.  Think I'll rummage and see if we have anything on hand for upset stomachs.

Glad you had a good trip, Dori.  I'd love to go back to AZ!

    Good morning everyone.

Kelly's Mission, Bathroom:  Clean out the bathtub.

Laundry Room:  Empty the trash can and replace the bag.

Linda - Yes, we all want to know how you make out at the doctor's appointment.

Alphy - We have a lot of traffic here.... almost like living in the city.  DH is still doing a lot but he has slowed down too.  If he were to have an accident...........

Cookie - AZ is beautiful but I don't think I'd want to live there.  To far from all our family and friends.

Sounds like everyone has been busy.  Spring will do that to us.  Smile  Yesterday I got a call from DH to PU parts and bring them to the shop.  After that I went food shopping and never got home till 3:45!  Easy dinner, thank goodness.  Gotta love leftovers!

Gotta run.  Going out for breakfast and some shopping with my friend.  She got home from her vacation while I was in AZ and this is possibly the last time I see her till the fall.  She has a house at the NJ shore and spends her summers there.

Have a great day.  I'll try to be back.

Dori, you are right about spring doing that to you!  I washed some windows yesterday, not my most favorite job, but when I get started I don't mind.

Cookie, good to "see" you checking in.

Nothing special on the agenda today, not that I don't have things to do and to put away.

Beautiful weather right now...can't say that for the rest of the world, can we?

    Hi,

Am back from the dr. Now she says there is a 3rd way to treat me and that's medication. I can't really believe it. But the next time I have to see her I'm going to tell her I'd rather try the medicine than the radiation pill that scared the h out of me.

Dd is done with her finals and she went out with her bf last night. He came over and I just saw his shadow and I just about burst out laughing, held it back, but he walks like a monkey. Not that I'm putting down monkeys...hee, hee, ha, ha,ha. Can't help myself, but I'm chuckling yet.

Got an invitation for my godson's wedding, it's the end of June. Can't believe he's marriage material, lol. I love him don't get me wrong, but he was such a character, can't believe he's getting married. Got 3 invitations also. I asked for an extra one, for J and his family. Don't want to crowd him or anything, but thought it was a great time to meet all the rest of the relatives. Just wish that there was a reunion or something that was going on. The other one was for my dm. I can't believe that they don't have her address. I had to quick call her and tell her. So she doesn't think she won't get one.

Am going to sweep the floors and get things straightened out. Haven't finished the garden yet also so it maybe a good time to finish, dd is home and won't have any distractions.

Everyone have a great day. Big Smile

    Linda
