The Rose Room *** Tuesday, May 13, 2008***

Morning all. I'm here - very tired but here. I had a meeting at work yesterday at 1130 - real bad time for night workers!!! Anyway, since I had to come over anyway, I brought a load of stuff over. After the meeting I unloaded it, went home and went back to bed. I slept until I came in to work last night. I had intended to bring another load over with me last night but that didn't happen LOL. I'm thinking today I'll pack up some more stuff and maybe bring a load over this afternoon or early evening. Then reload before coming in tonite. I'm off tomorrow (Thank Goodness!!!!!) and am planning on bringing over the bed and tv. That way I'll be here for my 4 day weekend I'm working. A LOT less running, saving gas and getting acclimated to the new house is what Taffy and I need. I'll also get a chance to unpack, list what else I need then get that over here. Then I can focus on cleaning out the other house and be done with it all!!!! Whew, will that be a huge weight off the shoulders.

My diet has been bad, bad, bad the last few weeks. I'm not getting in the calories I need to stay healthy and that along with working so much has me dragging. It'll look good on the A1C I'll have done in June as my sugars have been looking good - sometimes a bit low, but it'll be a "false good" so I'll have to be honest with the MD and tell him not to get excited if the A1C is down/good.

I promise to work harder at eating better and getting more rest. I'm feeling the effects and am paying attention to the warning signs of exhaustion. As I said, as soon as I get my bed over here I'll stop running for a couple weeks and get a bit more rest and proper nutrition.

I love looking at the pics ya all have posted!! Makes me feel so much more a part of your lives. I can't wait until technology has found it's way into my life so I can share more with ya all. Thanks so much for being willing to share!!!!

Well, gotta go move around and put a fresh pot of coffee on. Have a great day everyone. Stay safe and watch out for that sunburn!! LOL.

    Love and lots of Fuzzies!!!

    Good morning

IM sounds like you got alot done!!

I put up some pictures of Skylar last night, I'm going to take them down when I get home from work. She's grown, but still tiny!!

Here's the free recipe from Gooseberry Patch

    Basil-Mushroom Pizza

    2 T. butter
    1 c. portabella mushrooms, sliced
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    12-inch Italian pizza crust

    3 T. olive oil
    1 c. spinach, sliced into 1/2-inch strips
    1/2 c. fresh basil, chopped
    8-oz. pkg. shredded mozzarella cheese

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and garlic; sauté just until tender, about 5 minutes. Place pizza crust on an ungreased baking sheet; brush with olive oil. Sprinkle spinach evenly over pizza crust, followed by basil, mozzarella and mushroom mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and edges of pizza are crisp. Makes 4 servings.

    Good Morning!!

Wow, IM I can see why you are exhausted....you have been busy!! Take care of yourself FIRST!!!  You will be all settled in before you know it!

No time for the Elliptical this morning....I have to get in the shower and get Lily to the groomer before work!

Last nights meeting was so much fun...a little too much wine...but fun!! I slept like crap, but that was my own fault...again too much wine!! I feel good this morning, so I am ready to conquer the day....before I eventually crash!!

I have some cleaning and laundry to do when I get home......hubby has a guy coming over that may build us a screen door....it has to be custom made since our door frames are 8ft. tall.

I will be back this afternoon!!!!!

Good Morning - the sun is shining, but don't think it will last - Suppost to be a couple of days of rain again.

I've enjoyed all of the pictures this week too - - a good looking group of kids here!

Need to deliver the salad this morning before I go to work, so that means less time to chat.

Hope everyone has a good day.

How did you like the dancing last night? I don't want any of them to go!

    Good morning everyone.

Kelly's mission: We are combining the bathroom and laundry room today. Take your bathroom rugs, all the fuzzy stuff on your toilet, and the towels that are just for show and wash them. While you are in the laundry room grab an old rag or washcloth and wipe down the lid of the washing machine and dryer. While the rugs are in the washer sweep the bathroom floor and wash it. When the rugs are finished put them back in your wonderful smelling bathroom.

IM - You have to take care of yourself first.  Taffy is depending on you along with your church, work, and your mom and NSDD.  It was nice of NSDD to take you to brunch for Mothers Day.  Maybe now your mom can see more of what you had to put up with.  You never know what someone else is dealing with till you walk a mile in their shoes.

Tango - The pizza sounds good.  Thanks, I'll have to try it.  Skylar is growing up.  She may still be a peanut but she has lost the baby look.

Pat and Jane are off and running.  Waving Hi   Smile

    Where are our MIA's???

I still have a pile of papers to go through. News papers mostly. I did get to some of them last night. More laundry, bills to pay, and a grocery store run. My SIL picked up milk and bananas so I wouldn't have to run out yesterday. We always do that for one another.

Off to the shower/shampoo. I'll try to get back later.

    Have a great day.

    Dori

IM - Take it easy!  You definitely don't want to overdo it.  Everything will fall into place in time.

Tango - Loved the Skylar pics.  What a doll!

Jane - Enjoy the sun while you can...but not too much like I did!Embarrassed

Pat - I don't sleep well with too much wine either.  You would think it would be jsut the opposite!  It seems to kick my pre-menopause into high gear and I wake up with hot flashes.

I posted Sean's senior pic yesterday.  I can't believe that he is graduating in just over 4 weeks!

    Have a great day everyone!!!!

Hi all from a sick Rosie.  I went to a fishing tournament on Sunday and spent 2 hrs in the cold and rain and I've been paying for it ever since.  I actually had to call off work yesterday because I had a fever.  I think I might leave early today, too.

I can't believe Sean is graduating already. Where has the time gone?  How is Britt doing?

Skylar loks like she is seriously contemplating something.  she's cute.

Got to get back to work now.  Have a great day!

    Hi Rosies!

A quick check in as I'm out the door to work.  Feeling better today except for my back.  Have one spot that is just being a bugger!  Will keep taking the Advil and try not to do too much lifting today.

Pip, hope that you feel better quick!

Hugs to all.  Have a great Tuesday!~~~Laura

    Hi again.

Just a quick note. I have to go to DH's shop and take him to a meeting tonight.  Poor guy.  He wants to drive but I think he does understand why I've said I wish he wouldn't drive.  Soooooo I get to put a lot of miles behind the wheel.  Smile

Has anyone heard from Hab?  Just thinking about Emily and Skylar growing up and Sweetie will be 1 soon.  Even Hayden is getting big.

Better get going.  I told DH I'd be over about 4:15 and it's 4:11 now.  oops!

    Have a great evening.

Just picked Britt's car up from the shop.  They were honest and told me it would cost them much more to fix it than at a dealership, as they didn't have the tool necessary to simplify the repair on a Saturn.  Now we have to take it to the dealer...$650!  Ouch!

Looks like it will rain soon.

Re: The Rose Room *** Tuesday, May 13, 2008***

    Hi Roses!

Gee, I missed a couple of days and now I'm way behind.  And I got new specs.....yikes....thought I mite have to take out a loan to get them from the eyeglass place. Holy Cow!  I'm not liking the results either.  I had a HUGE change in my vision. Went from pretty good eyesite to now I'm near sited in one and far sited in the other.  I hate these glasses. The doctor said my brain doesn't know what to do (well, when did it ever!). And my eyes and brain have to adjust.  I either have to sit up close to the screen or far away.  I hope it doesn't take long cuze this is the pits!

The pictures of Skylar are amazing!  I can't  believe how little girlish instead of babyish she looks. I agree with Dori...she just has a more grown up look.  Beautiful little girl!

And that Sean!  All I can say is WOW!

Jeanne, I just knew St. Anthony wouldl help you in your endeavor to find your bracelet!  I reminded him that I haven't bothered him much over the last few months and we really needed him!  I just knew it would turn up!  Thank you Saint Anthony!

IM that was nice of your dd to take you to breakfast!  Sounds like you are way too busy with the moving and cleaning.  Hope you get situated really quick!

Laura, your mother's day gift sounded wonderful.  How thoughtful of them to put that together for you.  So thoughtful and loving!  Hope you feel better fast!

Dori it sounds like you had a wonderful vacation!  Congrats to your daughter on her degree!  Lets hope she get gainful employment soon!  I love that her boyfriend is talky!  I think that's a good sign!

I've had more than my share of awful sunburns, Dianae.  It seems it took me years to realize just how little sun it takes to get singed!  I'll bet you have a good start on a nice tan tho!

I can never sleep if I overindulge, Pat!  A doctor told me once that the sugar in alcohol is what keeps you awake. Not to mention that while you are sipping away your muscles are relaxing so when you go to bed your brain (the brain again) tells the body it's already rested.  Does that sound like a crock or what????

Had lunch with my gradeschool chum today then we took our coats in for storage and I wrote a check to them and he gave me a paid receipt.  When I got home I still had the check in my wallet.  If I was an unethical sort I could save some money but I'll call them tomorrow to let them know why they were short in the proverbial till.  I hope the young man who handled the transaction doesn't get in trouble.

Off to see what trouble I can stir up in the MESS HALL!

Well, DWTS went as I thought and expected it to.  I was sad, but knew it had to happen.

Kids were here for a quick supper after they meet with the pastor. They kinda of ate and ran, and that was okay - I wanted to watch Idol and Dancing.

I've been busy with the news the last couple of days - a couple of big stories locally.  Traggic accident in LaCrosse, Wi. of a medical helicoptor on Sun. and killed the 3 medical personal. How sad.

Then the big story, and I wouldn't be surprised if many of you hear or will hear about this one.  The largest kosher meat packing plant in the world was raided yesterday, and 390 illigal immigrants, mostly Mexican-although not all, were busy to a holding center to process.  This is about 15 miles from us.  There have been false ss no.'s and idenidty theft and of course, illegal boarder crossing. It is sad for those families and people, but they also knew the riskcrossing the boarder.  It's interesting watching it all unfold.  Some of them have been here for some time now, and have children.

Well, gotta go - catch you in the morning.

Ladies, I saw both articles online that Jane was referring to.

I started my new job today taking care of the lady.  She is a sweet person.  Nancy lost her husband in December and on the night of the funeral she fell and broke her pelvis.  She forgot to take her cordless phone into her bedroom and that is why she fell.  Apparently she scooted on her foot to get to the phone.  Nancy spent 5 months in a nursing home and in that time developed some complications.  She is now back in her own home and loving it.  I go to work at 10 am and get done at 3 pm.  I am still doing a couple of Shadow Shopper jobs at different times.  Most of them are open on Saturdays so I can do them then.  However, I can also do them before I go to work or afterwards.

I am doing okay.  It will take a few days to get us into a routine, but the job will be good.  I just did not like the gentleman as he was having hallucinations because of a medication.

Hope you all are having a good evening.  Hugs to all.
