Surprised I am the first one here this AM.  I have bacon cooking and toast ready so come on down and join me.

Have to work today at the office - not sure what I'll find after being off for so long.

Hugs and prayers for all those in need.

Good Morning Ladies - Bacon and toast sound like a good way to start the day - much better than my oatmeal!

Took a little longer to read my paper this morning - lots in it today - Yesterday in a near by town, over 300 were arrested and bused off of the work place in an imigration raid at a Jewish Kosher meat packing plant. While most of these probably are illegal, imagine being seperated from your spouse and kids - - I'm sure it will take a while to sore it all out.

MJ and IC Cook, I forgot to tell you that DS was telling me about the end of his bowling season -  His team and another one had to roll off for the championship, and the other team won the first game big, his team the second one, and then the third one got close, and his team ended up loosing by ONE point.

I need to leave a little early this morning to deliever the salad for the potato bake today.  Kids will be here tonight for dinner - I have a hot dish started.

Dancers were good last night - I don't want any to loose.

Good morning everyone and it's a beautiful sunny day! going to 70+ degrees.  I'm leaving for school in a while.

MIMIB  Thanks for the coffee and toast! always tastes good.

GREENBACK  It sounds like your DS had an unusually exciting bowling tournament.  How fun!!  I'm with you on the dancers.  Aren't they great?  I can't imagine my body moving like that!!  but then, they are a few (ah-hem  LOL) years younger than me.

    Time for something to eat.

I agree the dancers are all good and they have to be to make it this far. Pob time for Marissa to go but I sure hate to see her leave. Not much happening here today supposed to be the best day of the week for outside stuff. Might plant the things I bought Sun. BBL

Good morning. Looks like it could rain at any time. Gee, and we havn't had any for almost 2 days now.  At least the "S" word is finally not in the forcast. After today it's supposed to be nice again so it's a good day to get some stuff done.

Mimib bacon and toast and oj. Now that's a breakfast to get up for.

Jane sounds like DS really made the end of the season one to remember.

Stylist we have a "70" in our forcast too. But just not for a day or two.

Grammy loved your pictures. Forgot to ask who too the picture of you and those pretty pink birds?

Apple got your pictures too and she sure is turning into a young lady.

Fran prayers for you and Denny tomorrow. It's never any fun to have to have those tests.

Hope everyone has a good day. Sounds like a calm one planned here.

Yes Mimib you are really first. Coffee sounds good. Now lets hope you don't find any messes when you get to work.

Oh jane what a tense game that must be. We have lost games by one point but never the chanpionship. Tell him Congrats second place is darn good also. On one league we ended up in second this year and in one league I won't mention it. Needless to say it was not a good year on that league. So what is in your Casserole that you are fixing for dinner?

Stylist my body has never moved like that. I can't even dance. I have tried to learn but I seem to have a problem balanceing and coordination is truly lacking.

Grammy it is supposed to be the best day of the week here today also.  I guess I better work outside and see if my other lawn mower will run. I don't use the riding mower on this part of the yard I sure wish I could it would make the job easier. Maybe iwill get the bird bath out inever got it out last year. Withthe kids here and Jeffs stroke my summer got really messed up last year. Hoping for a better summer this year. Today my DH would be 70 oh wow hard to believe that so many years have passed since we met.

Apple do youhave good luck printing out pictures? Ihave tried but have not been happy withthe results. Even using the special paper. My three are all sleeping now. Lady of course is sleeping it is daylight LOL.

Time to do some more stuff I have been on the phone making and changeing Jeffs appointments already so hopefully that is done for today.

Good Morning.  Raw and windy outside with thunderstorms coming later. Won't be any work outside today again. Sad Only two weeks left on our burn permit, so really need to keep at it.  The forecast through the end of the week shows rain on and off and not very warm.

Mimi, bacon and toast is a good breakfast. Have a good day.

Jane, that was quite a thing in Postville. That was one (of many!) places DS3 worked for a short time. He and a friend rented an apt. there for about 4 months, when it first opened, but they found dead chicken smell wasn't a fun place to work! LOL

Stylist, have a good school day.

Grammy, won't be an outside day here. I haven't done a thing in my flower beds yet this year, except look.

    Hi Apple.

Alby, I haven't heard any 70s forecast here. Sad I'm about giving up for any warm weather.

MJ, why can't you use  your riding mower by your house?

Well, I have laundry to fold and iron today. Also Sunday evening, after chat, I sewed some of the lap robes I received together for a quilt top. I used the double knits and was that ever a job. They didn't line up very well, but I'm sure whomever gets it will be warm, at least!  I may try working with the cotton ones later and hope they will work better.

    Re: May 13 Grannie Neighborhood

Good morning Grannies. I am up, finally. Didn't wake up until 8:30. Feel like I have wasted 1/2 a day. Must have worked harder than I thought yesterday. Didn't quite finish the bedroom but will today. Need to run the Dyson in there really well.  Those dust bunnies, tricky little devils that they are, have migrated down the hall . Some have taken to the tabletops and tops of CofD. Must gather all of them so they don't multiply.. Surprise

Mimi---Is there any bacon left? Sounds good with the toast and coffee. I Always know where to go for bacon and toast. Wink

Greenback---Nice that the kids are coming for supper. Something in the crockpot for supper?

Stylist---Imagine you are already at school. Hope your morning goes well. Know you will have fun.

Grammy---Happy planting!  Saw that a neighbor near us had put out a pair of flamingos yesterday. They are pale pink. I think they must have had them out before and they faded. They are in a couple of planters on their deck. Lovely deck, all outfitted with gorgeous furniture and planters but you never see anyone on the deck. Think it is just for show. Sad!Sad

Apple---Loved the Katie pics. My they grow up so fast.

Alby---At least you have nice weather to come. Maybe you can get inside work done so you can enjoy those nice days when they get here.

MJ---Hope your other lawn mower works. I need to do some outside work but have too much to do inside.

Lily---Hope this day finds you getting lots done even if it means "Inside".

Well must get up and get back to my work. Need to throw a load into the washer and do up some dishes. DH isn't up yet so I can't get in the bedroom to work yet.   Prayers and hugs for those in need. Vicky, Liny and DH, Atv and DH, Marv, Debbie and anyone else who needs them.    BBL

    Good morning, grannies.

Ahhhhh! it will be a nice day.

MIMIB, yes, yes, bacon for me. It will go with my rhubarb sauce on toast, this morning.

JANE, same for me, I like all the dancers on DWTS.

STYLIST, when I watch the dancers, I didn't even realize a body can bend in so many ways. I have a feeling Marissa is leaving, tonight.

GRAMMY, same stuff here, a little inside work, a little outside work, and then a SSD.

KATHIE, no frozen fingers hanging clothes, today. Hemming pants is not my fav, either.

ALBY, our weatherman just said,"We are finally out of the snow season". Well, that's nice to hear for May. Did Albert get you back on schedule this morning?

MJ, you're just taking care of lots of things, today. The birds will love you and Jeff is happy he knows you.

LILY, you were brave using doubleknit for laprobes. Our quilting ladies won't use it at all.Too hard to keep the shape, like you said. My day is going to be great, but wondering if you're rain is coming.

    Perm this afternoon. BBL

    Re: May 13 Grannie Neighborhood

Good morning, GN friends.  Cloudy here in Missouri again today and severe storms forecast for late afternoon and evening--we don't need any more rain!  My first day back at work went OK and I'm going to my cardiologist today for the first checkup since my surgery.  I'm feeling well (for which I am so grateful) and I expect to get a good report.  Don't have time to reply to each post right now, but I love hearing about the activities each of you have planned.  Still catching up on the weekend posts, but I'll get them all read so I can keep getting to know my new friends better.

One thing to mention, I noticed Panera Bread mentioned in the weekend posts.  My DD#2 works for a school for special children in the summer (that's what her degree is in and where she someday wants to teach full time, but no openings yet).  One night a week the local Panera Bread donates all their leftovers to the school  DD is young and single so they assigned her to pick up the bread every Wednesday night at 8:30.  Good thing she has a small SUV (Mariner) because she often gets garbage bags full of bread and bagels and boxes of pastries and cookies.  When they get so much, they can't use it all so she gets to share with us.  Some of the bread is "different" (translated means I don't like it), but some is really good and not something I would usually buy because it is so expensive.  At Christmas time, they had lots of their holiday breads in her Wednesday night haul and that was a lot of fun to get to try so many things.

Prayers to all those in the GN in need, and thank you again for yours on my behalf.  Hope all of you have a great day.

    Re: May 13 Grannie Neighborhood

Well that was interesting I had the reply page up but it would not let me type tried to get rid of it and it posted. Actual representation of what is in my head LOL NOTHING.

Bonnie I think you snuck in when I was not looking.

Lily my yard has an odd shape lots of sharp angles and too much stuff in the way like the trees and the dog pen the house and the garage. Remember I live in town so that part is not that large and my rider does not turn that easily it just is to cumbersome . Using the walk behind mower is easier .

Suzi oh no putting all of the bunnies together will cause them to multiply LOL . Ihave two more lawn mowers so I think at least one will start. This is going to be a nasty job some of my grass is 18 inches tall at least.

Suzi I put my porch together evey year all nice and pretty and only the dogs use it. It is to much like being outdoors for me lol. Besides it is nice to have a room that does not get very dirty . Remember the old time parlor it was never used by the family LOL Company only.

Nancy he better be glad he knows me. I don't know how he would get anything done if I did not push it. His family sure doesn't.  Brings out the old social worker in me I guess LOL .

I have two quilts that were made back in the 70's and early 80's that are double knit. They are in bags upstairs and nobody wants to use them LOL . My MIL won them both in quilt raffles. I think she thought one for each girl well the girls think they are ugly and by golly I think they are right LOL.

Debbie good luck at the DR's I am sure you will get a good report judgeing by how you sound. I like those breads but you are right very expensive. Ok I am outta here like a bunny time is a flying by.

Oh news reporters are saying today gas is now 3.99 lordy lordy

    Re: May 13 Grannie Neighborhood

SSD time already! Breakfast is over, kitchen cleaned and swept, along with bathroom. Also ran the vacuum over the parlor (yes, I have one), dining room and den. Remember these are small rooms, so doesn't take long! So it looks presentable now. But the upstairs we won't mention!  Now to take care of the laundry basket!

Suzi, I don't think this will be a "lot done" day. No sunshine equates to no motivation!

Nancy, these are finished lap robes. They are from a neighboring town's nursing home which recently closed. Someone got several large cartons of them and we (our circle girls) are sewing four together to make large quilts for LWR. In the carton I received there were 7 double knit ones. We are overlapping the edges, but with the double knits, it was so stretchy that it was very difficult to pin and hold without stretching. I pinned them very closely, however, when I got to the end I still had some of the robe left over! Smile So had to do some cutting and hemming. DH said the center seam looked like an ocean wave! LOL But like I said, they will keep someone warm anyway!

Debbie, good luck with the drs. report.  We don't have any "classy" stores near us. Never saw or heard of panera bread. But maybe it is good, as I like "fancy" breads and might end up looking like the Pillsbury Doughboy!

MJ, that is the reason I will let DH mow the house yard. Lots of twisting and turning. I like the other parts where it is straighter mowing! I can put it on cruise and go!

I'm hoping Pat is feeling better. I miss her jolly comments every day.

It is up to 59*, but the wind makes it hard to work outside. It is really gusty again.
