    What's Cookin' May 13, 2008 (9:00 a.m.)

Didn't see anyone starting this. It is a dreary day here looks like rain . They are saying 20% chance so will see. Did mowing yesterday so that is done. Have to run to town to get groceries today. Think I will wait until this afternoon. Going to go pick the rhubarb and make some jam with strawberries. Will get it all washed and get the needed things in town.

Will have a maidrite for lunch and grilled chicken breast for supper. Will have hashbrowns and veggie.

DH has a late Dr. app. so will eat later tonight. Needs to get his cholestral pill and see what to do with all the acid in his stomach. See what meds to take. He gave him sample last time is $150!! This medicine is out of sight.

    Have a good day

Morning All. Cloudy this morning, 30% chance of rain today, suppose to be 80 by this weekend, it sure will be nice to see the sunshine. Got some laundry to do today, was hoping to hang it on the line, no chance of that today.

I have enought left overs from the BBQ last night to have for lunch, for dinner tonight I'll fix chicken (baked) mac and cheese and squash, there's a couple pieces of birthday cake left so we'll splurge and have that for dessert. Enjoy your day. Judy

We are expected to get rain, hail and thunderstorms tonight.  If I can find a break in them, I will put some chicken on the grill, if not, I guess we will have meatloaf, mashed potatoes for DH and a salad for me.

    Have a great day!

Good Morning. I am home from work today, so I had the opportunity to post, which I haven't been able to lately. We're going to have stuffed shells with ricotta, along with red and white sauce. Salads on the side, along with crusty sourdough bread topped with creamy asiago cheese and broiled. Dessert will be fruit.

Marlene, I haven't made maidrites in ages, sounds like a yummy idea for some night this week. Thanks for the idea. Meds sure take a bite out of you these days, DH and I are on several, but he does have a pretty good plan, thank goodness.

Tonight DH will have leftover pasta with turkey sausage and baby spinach, I had it in my trusty freezer.

I will have chicken noodle soup and oyster crackers, tummy's just this side of fritzy so don't want to put anything too heavy in it tonight. Think I'll make some jello, too. Take care.

Has Bosox been around? Seems like I haven't seen a post from her in a few days. Hope all is going OK for her. She has a lot to deal with.

    MAID RITE HAMBURGER
    1 lb. hamburger
    2 tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. pepper
    4 tbsp. dill pickle juice
Mix sugar, pepper and juice in a small bowl. Steam hamburger in water alone for 1/2 hour. Then drain good and add sugar, pepper and pickle juice. Steam buns, put hamburger on buns. Then add salt, mustard, diced onions and pickles.

Hi--Been a little lax for a couple of days.  Nice day today though.  It's just like touting a huge snow storm for days and days and then it moves out to sea.  They were predicting a double rainstorm, wind, etc.  We got practially none of it and have had a couple of beautiful days.

Went to lunch with some friends today so no cooking tonite.

We are still having up and down days.  I am sure this will ease, but never compleely disappear.  Not an easy road......

I haven't had a maidrite in years, we don't have one here,  Do you  or anyone have a recipe.  I thought they were the best things EVER, even better than juicy burgers.
