Hello to all of you.
I'm going to start my post off today with a excerpt from my post yesterday. I guess no one noticed I posted an update on PeppermintPatty, who hasn't posted in quite a while. I got worried about her because of all the tornadoes in Okla. and sent her an email, and she replied back. I thought some of you might be interested, but since no one mentioned it, I didn't know if you saw it or not.
From yesterday's post. (I don't know how to do the quotes with the boxes around them)
An update on P-Patty. I have been thinking about her a lot lately, and since there have been tornadoes in her area too, I sent her an email last night, and she sent me one this morning. She has been having some medical problems. A tornado hit in a small town about 15 miles from where she lives, and her oldest DD's husband's nephew lost a barn and a lot of cattle. She is in the process of adding a safe room to her house where she will not have to go outside to get into, should she be alone during a tornado. Her DD, Christie, had to to to Picher, Ok. (where the damage was last Sat.) to help out. I thought you all would like to know about her.
Here's an update on something I mentioned a while back, about the mayor election, in Muskogee, Ok. The 19 year old won the election over the 70 year old incumbent, who had been mayor for 3 terms. He won with 69% of the vote. (Editing) I just heard on the news that this is getting national attention, and he will be on Jay Leno's late night show in a week or two.
Mable, I'm glad that playing cards with friends brought up Floyd's morale. That will be something you can do regularly, if it cheers him up.
Rosie, if you want to learn a lot about the human body, that is a good exhibit to see. There were parts of it, that I think I was rushed through, but I'm sure I learned a lot. You can also buy a audio tour to guide you through it, but we didn't do that. You are allowed to go at your own speed, as long as you don't exit for any reason.
I haven't said anything about Irene for a while. She is as stubborn as Floyd sounds like he is. She really should be in a nursing home, instead of an apt. bldg. like this. She expects too much from her friends here, and if they keep catering to her, they might damage their own health. She has a sister (Helen) who lives here too, who is 5 years younger. Helen is a very skinny woman and her sister Irene is a lot heavier, but she is trying to take Irene to all her DR. appointments, and with cancer, she has a lot of appointments. Irene refuses to wear one of those alert things around her neck, that would allow her to call emergency, should she fall when she is alone. Keep them in your prayers.
Rosie, just saw you last post. Prayers for Critter, and for your mom. I didn't understand the address for the correspondence, but I can say prayers.
Hugs and Prayers for all my Senior Cookin' friends and their family members.
