Rosie,   Hope you don't mind, but I snagged this and have it as background.  Oh, just checked it out, it's a bit out of proportion guess I'll have to try and figure it out.  Thank you.  Pat

A quick hi to all.  I spent too much time reading and now shouldn't sit here any longer.  The insurance man is coming out and I've got to get this table cleared off.  Hopefully, this will wrap up everything.

    Thanks Rosie for the cardinal!!!

Oh, the phone has started to ring off the hook.  I'll talk at you later.  Pat

Just got back from taking Floyd up to his primary care Dr.   It was rough, he is much weaker than the last time he went, ane much more depressed.   His Dr. wants him to see a psychiatrist but he refuses to even hear about one.   So our hands are tied.

I tried to be cheerful today, I really did, but sometimes circumstances get in the way.

    • Little prayers needed please..Walt, Mom and Scott went to pick up Sam at the vets.  Mom fell coming out of the office and has a "gash" over her eye (Walt didn't indicate what size).  They are heading to the emergency clinic to have it checked.
    • While talking to him the house phone rang and it was Sandi, she and Critter were on the way to the ER in Houston.  He was having radiating pains from his surgerical site from when they closed the lesion on his spine...neurosurgeon wanted to look at it.

    Re: 05/14/08 CS' Chat

    Hello to all of you.

I'm going to start my post off today with a excerpt from my post yesterday.  I guess no one noticed I posted an update on PeppermintPatty, who hasn't posted in quite a while.  I got worried about her because of all the tornadoes in Okla. and sent her an email, and she replied back.  I thought some of you might be interested, but since no one mentioned it, I didn't know if you saw it or not.

From yesterday's post.  (I don't know how to do the quotes with the boxes around them)

An update on P-Patty.  I have been thinking about her a lot lately, and since there have been tornadoes in her area too, I sent her an email last night, and she sent me one this morning.  She has been having some medical problems.  A tornado hit in a small town about 15 miles from where she lives, and her oldest DD's husband's nephew lost a barn and a lot of cattle.  She is in the process of adding a safe room to her house where she will not have to go outside to get into, should she be alone during a tornado.  Her DD, Christie, had to to to Picher, Ok. (where the damage was last Sat.) to help out.  I thought you all would like to know about her.

Here's an update on something I mentioned a while back, about the mayor election, in Muskogee, Ok.  The 19 year old won the election over the 70 year old incumbent, who had been mayor for 3 terms.  He won with 69% of the vote.  (Editing)  I just heard on the news that this is getting national attention, and he will be on Jay Leno's late night show in a week or two.

Mable, I'm glad that playing cards with friends brought up Floyd's morale.  That will be something you can do regularly, if it cheers him up.

Rosie, if you want to learn a lot about the human body, that is a good exhibit to see.  There were parts of it, that I think I was rushed through, but I'm sure I learned a lot.  You can also buy a audio tour to guide you through it, but we didn't do that. You are allowed to go at your own speed, as long as you don't exit for any reason.

I haven't said anything about Irene for a while.  She is as stubborn as Floyd sounds like he is.  She really should be in a nursing home, instead of an apt. bldg. like this.  She expects too much from her friends here, and if they keep catering to her, they might damage their own health.  She has a sister (Helen) who lives here too, who is 5 years younger. Helen is a very skinny woman and her sister Irene is a lot heavier, but she is trying to take Irene to all her DR. appointments, and with cancer, she has a lot of appointments. Irene refuses to wear one of those alert things around her neck, that would allow her to call emergency, should she fall when she is alone. Keep them in your prayers.

Rosie, just saw you last post.  Prayers for Critter, and for your mom.  I didn't understand the address for the correspondence, but I can say prayers.

Hugs and Prayers for all my Senior Cookin' friends and their family members.

(((MABEL))), I'm so sotty for your stress...been there, done that, and it hurts to think of you going through it.  I think of you every day.  Floyd I know this is hard for you, too.

MARGARET, thank you for the update on PAT R...I think of her often, even though I don't often mention it in posts.

ROSIE, thinking only good thoughts for your Mom and Critter.

    Re: 05/14/08 CS' Chat

Mom got home about an hour ago, looking like she had been hit in the face with a two by four.  She missed a step or slipped on a step and went face down "I didn't even crumble I just went splat!"  Her nose, her eye, between her eyes, both knees, and I'm sure a few places she will know about in the morning.  Got good care when she fell, two vets and three vet techs...LOL.  What an animal she is!!  Now if Walt can get past his immense guilt feelings (of course he was putting her woozy dog into the truck, she has been walking on her own for probably 85 years, and he couldn't have caught her anyway).  Feel so sorry for him.  Still no word from Sandi on Critter.  Will check in in the morning....I'm heading to the couch!

Good grief...Too much excitement and not the good kind today.

MARGARET~~I'm glad you let us know about Peppermint Patty. I do miss her and I know she tried to stay connected when she was up to it.

I'm also sorry to hear about your neighbor and friend.

ROSIE~~You mom will probably look even worse in the morning and your right about her feeling all the spots that took a beating in that fall.

You do know x-rays are cheaper done at the vet. ???

Critter will be back on my prayer list pronto! Please keep us posted.

Throwing YOU a lifeline also, friend.

MABEL~~Not a good day for you and Floyd. I guess if he won't see someone there really isn't anything you do. Did the doc offer anti-depressants?

I'm off to get my PJs on and hit the couch.

Rosie, so sorry about your Mom’s fall. Bless her heart…she will be sore & stiff tomorrow. And I understand Walt’s guilt trip…but stuff happens…bless his heart, too.  And lots of prayers for Critter…hope you hear something soon. Sending you hugs and prayers, too…hang in there, friend.

Margaret, I don’t really know PPatty but I remember the name. I don’t think it was anyone’s intention to slight her…I know I can’t remember everything I readTongue Tied…so you’ll have to forgive us…thanks for updating us.
