Good afternoon from a cool & cloudy Indiana, it's only 55 out there, will have to wear a jacket to the grocery.

DH off this morning to haul more corn, they have a contract to fill, at least he'll be home early as the elevator closes at 4:00,

Zora.........I'm with you on Jason winning DWTS, he's been my favorite since the beginning, not impressed with the other guy, will be ok if Kristie takes it.  That Jason is a hottie......LOL!

I made choc. chip cookies on Mon. so guess I've all ready celebrated the day, DH loves them & they're almost gone, guess I've had my fair share of them too.

Going to the grocery this afternoon, just got the house work done, will fill the car up with gas also, ugh, there goes all my money.  Will stop & get me a sandwich on the way home, don't want to cook.

Hope everybody has a great day.

A Good Afternoon to ALL:   Where did the morning go???????????????

We are having rain, just started a few minutes ago and is suppose to get worse as the day

goes on,,,,but we need it so cannot complain.

Had a beautiful blood red ++red bird in the seed plate this morning, sure glad the male let

her eat.  LOL  Not like the hummers.

Rosie,,,sure pray your MOM is better today but from experience, she will find places that

are black and blue that she did not know she had.....has been three weeks since my fall

    and mine are still there.

Margaret ++ I know I am the worse about commenting on our MIA's but please forgive us++

just cannot blame it on our AGE.   Sometimes I  think I am brain dead ++most of the time.

Today is suppose to be hair day but if this weather keeps up I may have to change the date

The trip to the Dr office and Publix almost did me in yesterday..

The Dr. changed my blood pressure pills again and another pres. for pain,,,I know I have

tried all the pain meds and none seem to help anymore.

I hate to be so negative all the time..  is not my nature. Guess I can blame that on AGE

    too.   LOL

Time for Liza's lunch, will check in later to catch up.

    (((HUGS and LOVE)))) to all

Good afternoon from a very windy location in Central Alberta.

I got to sleep in until 11 a.m. So that's about 1 p.m. for a lot of you. We are in Mountain Standard time, now Daylight Savings Time so, yes, there's time difference there. DH came and gave me my meds at 7:45, before he went to work and I basically rolled over and went back to sleep. Guess I needed the extra sleep.

So I was busy reading group postings and, whoosh...everything went black. How lovely...a power failure. It was another 1 1/2 hours before we got it back. Thankfully, we have a gas stove which I ignited with the help of a BBQ lighter. Who woulda thought, years ago, that this gal would EVER use a lighter, being scared to death of  lighting as much as a candle. Long handled BBQ lighters changed all that. No longer is the flame as close to the fingers. Hats off to whoever thought of these lighters.

Now I need to boogey into my raspberry patch to thin out the old canes. Hopefully the ground isn't too soggy yet that I sink down to China. If you hear me holler, please come and pull me outta there.

I just had "breakfast"...a couple of 6" long cucumbers dipped in plain yogurt with Watkins Salsa and Sour CreamDip Seasoning. I figured stirring it into sour cream would be too rich, so I tried it with plain yogurt...just as yummy. Ate the rest with a spoon. Wierd breakfast, I know, but I'll come in later for some carbs.

Need to run off now. Have a productive OR relaxing day!

    CHECKINGINHELLO.jpg picture by Mapanda

Hello and Good Afternoon to all of you.  I feel so embarrassed.  It seems like a lot of you thought you needed to apologize to me.  I did not expect that.  I just didn't think you had seen my post about P-Patty.  I spent most of the day with Zachary today, so I've had a good day, plus we have had sunshine for a change.

I'm not going to take time to reply to each one of you individually, but wanted to tell you about the recipe I posted on our forum.  This recipe was posted on the Recipe's forum this morning, but it sounds identical to the one that I was served at our card game last night.  It's really good if you like pimento cheese.  This sort of has the consistency of a cheese ball, but was not shaped into a ball.  It was served with snack crackers.  The only thing that Helen did differently was to substitute chopped green onions for the parsley.  One other thing I wanted to say about the recipe.  Do use the pecan chips in it.  It gives it a crunchy texture, and tastes good too.  But on the other hand, I rarely find a recipe using pecans that I don't like.

Well time for Jeopardy.  I might try to get back later tonight. (College championship).

I hope all of you have had a wonderful day, and will have a nice evening as well.

Hugs and prayers for all of you, including family members, and friends.

A PS to my previous post.

About the 19 year old mayor of Muskogee, Ok., he's still in college, but has transferred to a college close by, so he can also perform the duties of mayor.  He will be sworn in on Monday.  I wish him luck.

I am encouraged by my visit to a new pain dr. this afternoon.  He said there are things to try that haven't been done so next week I go in for shots near the bones in my lower spine, then keep a pain diary, and if there is any improvement, he does it again, and if that succeeds, he burns nerve endings near the bones.  I'm sure my explanation is not precisely medical, but it is nice to have a glimmer of hope as I told him I doubted if he could help me.  He is nearly 40but looks like a high school kid.  The nursetold me that they have  a lot of patients as a result of the other pain dr I went to being disliked by his attitude as I was.  He has 2,000 patients. - the new one, I mean.  Oh, yes, he agreed with me I have bursitis, and gave me a shot in the hip.

I got out of my sweats to go to the dr!  I still have not been warm since Fl, and it is only in the 50's most of the time, and that isn't enuf!  I'll look funny in July in a sweat shirt!  Nancy B

Good Evening All - well we're back into "summer" in the middle of May - hot, hot, hot.

Zora - love that thought for the day.  My fav chocolate chips are milk - I know, that's not pc - but I love them in cookies

Mabel - so very sorry to hear that Floyd is in a slump.  As others have suggested, maybe you could get someone in there to play some cards or something.  Around here, we have able seniors who volunteer to do just that sort of thing.  I hear you about the meds - I basically take nothing, because, if it has a possible side effect, I'm the one to get it.

Rosie - poor mom - she is (as others have said) gonna be sooooo sore.  But, OMG, make sure Walt feels no guilt.  Little Critter has had enough already - monsterous Hugs & Prayers going out for him.  Take care of yourself too, gal.

Tippy - don't it make ya wonder?  What a scare.  If that doesn't convince you to get another job   -------------------.  Thank goodness you're ok (again)

Beth - sometimes the bad news just makes you want to crawl into a hole.  Take care

Margaret E - love scones - thanks for the recipe (& for translating measurements).  Good show at Weight Watchers.  Will mail you in a day or so.

Cilla - don't think you're supposed to take Aleve w/the aspirin, but I think Advil might be ok.  But, don't take chances, girl.

Helen - one of the few thing I miss about up north is Trader Joe's!!!!!!

Lois - that machine sounds perfect for you - especially since DD would use it also.  I'm looking at patterns now for a child's quilt, and am taking your advice & looking for something simple w/just a center motif - nothing like what you do, but I gotta start somewhere!!!!!!!!!!

To all I missed & to all our MIA's, please know that I think of y'all every day.

Hello everyone, a few minutes to say hello.  Have been running around for Mom and taking her to various appointments.  I've noticed in the last few weeks that she's forgetting things more and repeating herself more often.  She's also sleeping way longer than she used to.  We found her sleeping on the couch this morning.  I guess she fell asleep waiting for something to upload on her webtv.  I guess it's to be expected, she is 92 years old.

Hope you all have a great weekend,

    Deej

Hi, another quickie from here.  Another change in plans.  DD's and DGD got together and I'm not going alone.  DGD is going with.  So I have a 14 year going with me--the little redhead's big sis.  She's out in the garage really cleaning out the van.  It hasn't been done since Sept.  I'll be heading out early, but will be home Sun nite.  She's missing one day of school, but finals are next week so she has to be back.  I'll go to Denver another time. Talk to you Sun.  Pat

This morning is the best I have felt since I got home the 4th, pain wise..  Don't know if it was the bursitis shot yesterday or the excitement of feeling hope for the procedure next Wed.  Wish you would keep me in your prayers that this will work .

I will be seeing Pat and her granddaughter this weekend, and I am thrilled - first one of you I will have seen live!  Since I don't know when she is arriving, I can't make plans for a possible meal.  Timing is everything!  I feel so UP this morning!  Nancy B
