Foul-up with Stimulus checks

I heard on GMA news this morning there has been a 'computer glitch' and 15,000 of the direct deposit checks have been deposited into the wrong banks accounts!   They didn't say how they were going to correct this.  Apparently CNN is reporting the same thing.

With our bloody luck, ours is one of them!

A guy that works with DH said that he saw on the IRS website in small letters on the bottom that says " checks can be delayed up to 2 weeks".......... I havn't checked for my self

But we were expecting ours last week and didn't get it, also heard that if you used a program like turbo tax that direct depostite was put into third party banks for your tax return, however on these rebates they will be MAILED to you.

Guess in this case I'm glad we have to wait, we will get a paper check, haven't gotten a refund in years so they don't have our checking acct #.  Now do you suppose they will screw those up as well?

Be sure to keep checking your banks.  We did Turbo Tax and had to pay.  We found our check has been sitting in the bank for a few weeks.  Only way to know is to check your account or wait until your statement comes showing it.

This past Saturday we got a letter (the second one mind you!!) saying your stimulus check should be to you by May 9...Saturday was the 10th.  if you don't receive your check in the next SIX weeks, contact the number below...blah blah.  It's now the 15th, still no check, but we've got to wait another 5 weeks before calling this lame number.  And exactly how much did all these uesless letters cost in tax dollars to remind us that we haven't gotten our checks yet???

That's another thing.  Most people seem to have received a letter from the IRS stating they will receive a rebate - but we haven't!  Turbo Tax told us that based on our return we should receive $1200.

Well I know that this week we got ours. I would not wait the 6 weeks to call. The worst they can say is they do not know.

Ours was mailed last Friday and its still not here. I want to stimulate the economy,but the dang postal service wont let me!!

I'm on the IRS website right now and there's absolutely nothing like that on it.  Don't know where he got that information.

In fact, there's nothing on the website that says anything about any "glitch" in the system resulting in a delay of payments. 

DS has gotten his. We haven't checked our bank in the last few days. We got a statement, but, it was up till the 7th, and our check was suppose to come on the 9th.

Mine was direct deposited, as was DSM's 

Both of us got letters informing us we were receiving the deposit 6 days after we received the deposit.  The deposits came two day before the IRS site said they would. 

I think Benjamin Linus is running the IRS.

 Here is the schedule now for the checks.. if you direct deposited and did NOT pay with a credit card this is the schedule for CHECKS to be mailed to you.

Here is information that I got from Turbo Tax today regarding stimulus checks.

I believe the dates you just posted are the OLD ones.  Because that is showing them to not start mailing them out till yesterday,but some people have already received their paper checks days before that.

Another foul up they reported on TV yesterday....The extra $300 per child.....some people who were suppose to get it didn't...

They are rechecking and going to send what is due you sometimes in July, if you were suppose to get the extra $300.
