    Cheese scones

    Here is the recipe you wanted.

    1lb (450g) self-rasing flour,sifted                                            8oz (225g) Cheddar cheese or other

     1 tspn salt                                                                          strong cheese, grated

    4oz (100g) margarine, softened                                            8 tbspns milk

    1 tspn mixed dried herbs                                                     8 tbspns water

    Preheat the oven to gas mark 7 (425degF/220degC) Grease a baking tray. Mix together the flour & salt & rub in the margarine. Add the herbs & 6oz (175g) of the cheese. Add the milk & water & mix to soft dough. On a floured board, roll out to a thickness of 1in (2.5cm) & cut into rounds using a 2 1/2 in (6cm) cutter. Place on prepared tray, top each scone with a little of the remaining grated cheese & bake for 10 mins. until golden. Remove from oven & lift onto a wire rack to cool slightly. Serve warm or cold with butter.

    I love scones, but have never tried a savory kind.  This one sounds really good.  Thanks for posting it.
