way OT: what were we thinking?

22 year old DD moved home, and we are cleaning out her bedroom.  What were we thinking with these beanie babies?  How did I ( and I know some of you too, time to confess) get sucked into that craziness??  I understand the McDonald's ones, as we live less then 1/2 block away and the happy meal babies were cute.

Now we are trying to reduce and reuse.  I think we will box them up and store, she will probably have a time when she might need them to give away as gifts or tokens when she is working with young children,

But seriously, what were we thinking??  They are "worth" about a quarter at a garage sale!!!

I wonder that about a lot of things! WHAT was I thinking, lol....BB aren't worth much anywhere.  Luckily I was able to avoid temptation and only have about five of them.

BUT I have both grown-up DS's collecting cards for hockey, Disney, Desert Storm, Magic, etc. etc........good grief, they're just cardboard cards and we got sucked into it!

You started my day off with a giggle and a grin! I honestly don’t think we were thinking! I know when the Ty people said they weren’t making them anymore and came out with *The End* (black bear) I knew “ding~ding” I’m done….and when I’m done ~ this Chick is REALLY done!

I gave one to my lawyer (it was his last trial before he retired) he loved it and I never looked at them again….I would check into the price if you have and rare one. I have one that’s still worth a pretty penny ~ It’s  Quackers with NO wings. I didn’t even know what “Beanie Babies” were when I bought that at a garage sale for a quarter ~ he’s only gone down about $20 dollars ~ and remember ~ it’s like fashion about every five years things come back in popularity….good grief! I see kids wearing cloths I wore before we left Colorado…it’s a hoot!

LC, we have a ton of them but I plan on saving them. Someday, like baseball cards or my old metal lunch box, they will be valuable again.Smile I have a metal lunch box that is now worth $300.00. I didn't promote my kids buying them or getting them as gifts but since we have them I hope they will be worth something someday.

I love those lunch boxes! I have some from “back in the day” that I used to decorate my grandsons room but I really don't think I have one worth THAT!  LOL I have self storage buildings and have some rare coke items, a metal car things like that I keep ~ people didn’t pay their rent and can’t part with them….keeping other peoples junk. *grin*

If you decide to get rid of them - I bet there is a children's wing of a hospital nearby that has kiddies that could use a little cheering up. If they're in good condition, I would donate them to the hospital and let them hand them out to the little patients. Just an idea! Have a great day!

We went through that with Pokemon cards with our oldest DS!!!  We have binders full!  I imagine they're not worth a thing (and after all that money we spent on them).  He's saving them, for now.  Maybe they'll make a come back!
