Now they are saying letting baby sit for too long can cause SIDS.

Like in a car seat, etc, sitting for a long spell, can cause SIDS.

Maybe because the baby can slump forward? I don't know, they didnt' go into it and explain.

They can't slump forward in a car seat, though, can they? Its been too long since my babies were in car seats.

In the car seats my kids had they couldnt have slumped forward. There have been so many theories as to what causes SIDS, Im afraid they'll never figure it out for sure. When my older two kids were born they told me not to lay them down to sleep a certain way,then when the younger two were born they told me the exact opposite.

 I have to a agree with MOMTLJK. They don't know what causes SIDS. I doubt they will ever know what causes it. I lost a cousin to SIDS. She was an infant.  It leaves the family feeling  like they're at fault.  Incredibly sad.

The medical community loves to label things.  I honestly feel that many deaths get labeled SIDs that have a real reason, they just don't dig for the reason.

Arrrggghhh! Just one more thing to freak out new Mommies! Don't let them sleep on their stomach, don't let them sleep on their back...formula only for 6 months ( which changes according to DR.) How the hell did we (and our kids) ever survive? My kids were eating pablum at 2 weeks and on cows milk at 3 months! Go figure!
