    Good Morning Junies!

Looks to be another decent day here,  there is a slight chance of sprinkles. Suppose to be in low 70's!!!  Need to get out and mow today.   Also will work on some laundry.

Yesterday I made the Fudgy Oatmeal Bars that Margie posted.  YUMMY!  Kids love them!

I have that annual bake sale for Relay fo Life coming up next Sat.  So, I need to figure out what I'm all gonna make.  I know I'm making puppy chow for sure, I have a box of choc. chex and a box of honey chex that I want to use for that.

After I drop boys off, there are a couple garage sales I want to stop at.  Yesterday I stopped at a couple and got 2 more vintage enamel pans, a blue oblong for $1 and a cream with green trim tub for $2.  Also got Ben a pair of shorts and a sweatshirt for .50 each.

Anyone have big plans for the weekend?  Here nothing except working around the house.  Hope to get alot of my garden in this weekend, so, hope the rain misses us tomorrow.  Also want to work on getting my flowers/planters done too.

Good rainy Friday morning.  Started raining last night, to continue until mid to late afternoon.  Ed is thrilled as it is good for the concrete curing.  It is good also for the plants I put in the other day. Supposed to be upper 60's and nice tomorrow and warmer.  Have to go back to the dentist to get my crown, it wasn't in last week.  Will run errands while I'm out.  Need to iron today or tomorrow and vacuum.  Got Holly's jade plant, Seymour, repotted last night and staked up.  It's more like small tree now.  It won't fit at Ginger's so we are "foster parents" to it.   LOL  We may go out for supper, will be going to the one flea market that has a place where you can sometimes find good bargains on windows etc.  See if there is anything for hte house.

Margie, glad it'll be nice for you.  Enjoy using your swing today.

Patti, Happy yard saling.  plus working outside.  When will you plant things?

Deb, hope the boys party is lots of fun.   Is it family only or others too?  Will DH get more 3 day weekends?   Love those

Margie, I heard from Jan the other day and John is coming along slowly but surely.

Hope you all have a great day.  Will be back later.

Re: June Cleaver Club Friday 5/16/08

Margie, you're welcome. That was fun. I can see that it gets very addicting very fast. Didint' get much done yesterday other than that and reading Prince Caspian. It turned into a rest and make sure I am over the stomach bug today. My swim was a very short one as about the time I went out there a huge black cloud came overhead which made me leery of being in the pool in case it was a thunderstorm. Shortly after that it rained but not for long. The rest of the afternoon was a seriies of storms and clear spots. Very strange weather. It was nice and cool though :-)

Patti, you sure do great at yard sales and rummage sales. I have not been able to find good buys at yard sales here like Gregg and I did when we first got married. Used to be we could take 20 dollars and end up with a whole truck load of stuff, sometimes Craftsman tools and all kinds of neat things. Once found a queen size brand new electric blanket still in the box for 5.00.

I think I am working a split shift today so I can go to that physical and fill out paperwork at Banner. I hope so anyway. Won't know for sure until I get there and they give the slip where they approved it. If so I am working 5-11, then coming home for a bit, then over to Banner. Might go to Taco Bell or something for dinner or might come back home or if I can find my gift card might go over to Penneys outlet for awhile and see if I can find scrub bottoms or another top that goes with the bottoms I have or something.

Took my water cooler and bottles back on Wednesday and would have gone to Penneys outlet then since I passed it, but couldn't remember where I put the card.

Tomorrow I have a funeral to go to and so I am working afternoon shift so will see all my friends from the afternoon shift unless they are on vacation or something. That will be fun.

Just got an e-mail from my cousin in WV. My other cousin's (her DS) DD is getting married tomorrow so I am supposed to get some pictures or some of my relatives on that side. I need to go to WV on vacation one of these years before the rest of my aunts and uncles die. I haven't been there in like 20 years. I just have one aunt and one uncle on my mom's side left and one aunt (these cousin's mom) on my dad's side, and neither aunt is doing very well.

Margie, great minds think alike. I was wondering yesterday how Annie is doing. And Jan.

Got to go get a cup of coffee and see what I can find for breakfast. Had to go find my diploma from ASU as the rehab place at Banner wants a copy of it to go with my nursing license and CPR card. I wonder if I have to get fingerprinted again. When I worked at rehab before they were requiring all the doctors and nurses and CNAs and therapists to be fingerprinted in case we ever got any peds patients. We usually didn't get them younger than 12, but sometimes got 14 year olds or something.

Have a nice evening everybody. Maybe I will get Pete's fish and chips for dinner tonight. There is one right by work that has yummy onion rings and I love their fish. Not sure if they called overtime yesterday or not, or if they will call it today or not. If I knew that they wouldn't, wouldn't have split my shift, but didn't want to take a chance under these circumstances.

Have a great day everybody. Here is one of the siggies I did yesterday (just changed the name)

Margie, what a lovely pic of Emily.   Yes, they do grow up.  Faster it seems as they hit teen years then when they were tiny.

Sherry, hope all works out for physical today.

I hear the gentle beat of the rain and it's not too cool so enjoying it.  REally should get up from the computer and do something.  LOL

    to all my June friends!

Another chilly, dreary morning; had some rain overnight. It's supposed to clear off for a while and get near 70, but then more rain tonight & tomorrow. Sad

Had a very bad day with my allergies yesterday and really didn't get anything accomplished, even took a nap. I feel better this AM, but took meds again, just in case. I need to get bathrooms cleaned, floors mopped & some laundry done today; will get groceries tonight or tomorrow.

Margie, sounds like a lovely day, hope you get to enjoy it!! Your breakfast sounds great, as always! Emily's picture is very nice; she does look very grown up!!

Patti, hope you get to enjoy the day outside too! You have been finding some great deals at garage/rummage sales - good luck again today!! If it doesn't rain, we will have opening day of summer ball tomorrow, otherwise we will just work around here; would like to get our garden in too, but doesn't sound like the weather will cooperate.

Deb, hope all the rain has moved on. Have fun getting the boys' birthday things together!!

Jill, hope your dentist appt. goes well. The flea market sounds like fun, hope you find some bargains & enjoy supper out!

Sherry, sound like a very busy day for you; glad you were able to rest yesterday & are feeling better! Fish & onion rings both sound good!!

Kathleen, hope you & the kids had fun with the cookies!!

Laura, hope you have nice weather for camping! If this weather keeps up, it will be a while before we can camp. Sad

Can't remember what else I read, so guess I will go get busy. Hope everyone has a great day & weekend!! hugs,

I had some rhubarb but not enough to make a complet rhubarb crunch so came up with this creation and like it better than rhubarb alone or even rhubarb apple. Measurements are approx as it depends on what you have of the 3. But I've done it 3x with varying amts of each all 3x and it's been a hit all 3x with everyone who had it. Jill

    Rhubarb, apple and Cranberry Crunch

    Grease 9x13
    2-4 cups rhubarb
    2-4 apples
    1 1/2 - 2 cups frozen cranberries
You want about 5-6 cups fruit
Add 1/2 c- 1 cup sugar (I don't like it very sweet so add 1/2 cup)
Sprinkle with 1 heaping tbsp flour
    Mix well

    In bowl:
    Melt 1 stick butter
    Add:
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    1 1/2 cup oats
    1/3 cup flour
1/3-1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts are great)
Mix well and sprinkle/spread over fruit

Bake at 375º for 45min or till golden.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or what I did this week was put a good serving of cut up fresh strawberries on it and oh my, didn't need the ice cream

Re: June Cleaver Club Friday 5/16/08

Good Morning Ladies. Hope everyone is doing well this Friday morning, and looking forward to the weekend. I got on here a little later than usual because I whipped up a coffee cake first. it's a new recipe and was very easy to make. i sure hope it tastes good. I just finished my oatmeal and fruit for breakfast, and I think I'll try a small piece of the cake after it cools a little. Other than that, my morning routine has been my usual one. The weather isn't going to be nice at all today. it's very cloudy again, and  by late morning it's going to start to rain. With weather like that, I doubt the workers will be paving the driveway.

Today I'm planning on cleaning the livingroom. Supper for tonight will be breaded fish filets fries, and a salad. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. My niece's son is receiving his First Holy Communion. We will be going to the party in the afternoon, and she asked me to bring cupcakes. I'll bakr those tomorrow morning.

Margie, LOVE Emily's picture. What a pretty girl she is. Hope you enjoy being outside today.

Patti, Don't you just love yard sales! Noew that DH has weekends off we'll be going to some yard sales this year too. WE went to some last year and got good bargains. Since I love to read, I bought so many books at cheap prices.

DEb, Once again, we're having similiar weather! Enjoy the party tomorrow. It's so much better having a party someplace other than home. My niece had a party for her son's first birthday in April, and it was much easier for her not having the party at home. There were so many kids there.

JIll, With the rain on the way, I won't have to water any plants today. it's probably a good thing though because right now with our yard all a mess, the only plants I would be able to water are the two planters in front of the house. The back of the house is a big mes weith the driveway ripped up. WE have a flower garden behind the house.

Sherry, Glad to hear your feeling better. Those stomach bugs are awful.

Lisa. I suffer from allergies too, and last weekend they were really bothering me, to the point that my eyes were itchy. I didn't want to rub them because they would swell up. This week, my symptoms are very mild, in fact I didn't even ned to take allergy meds. Hope you feel beter soon. Thats the one thing I hate about this time of year. The flowers and trees are so pretty, but boy does it do a number on my allergies.

Thats it for now. HELLO to anyone I may have missed. I'll be back later.

    Denise

Re: June Cleaver Club Friday 5/16/08

    GOOD MORNING JUNE FRIENDS!!!

Glad to hear everyone seems to be doing well.  I did get to go out to lunch yesterday...to Fatz.  Enjoyed the shrimp and chicken strips that were on the lunch menu--delicious!

Had sad news yesterday....we have a young woman in our church who has battled leukiemia....such a lovely young woman with two children 4 and 5.  She was scheduled for a bone marrow transplant this summer and had gone to Winston-Salem to undergo a round of chemo to get prepared for the transplant.  Unfortunately, she died yesterday unexpectedly.  I am still in shock....she looked very healthy and was quite optimistic.  Her mom said she and her husband had not even discussed the possibility of her death.  Please pray for this family today....her name was Jennifer Campbell, husband Kevin and children Dallon and Emma.

Today I am planning to volunteer for a couple hours.  I have been doing more of this lately as several have been sick in my husband's office.  I really wish I could just stay home today and catch up on chores but I promised to help out while one of the secretaries went in for an upper GI.  I need to catch up on laundry and go to the grocery store.

MARGIE.....Once again, just LOVE the gingerbread man.....so cute.  I need to learn how to do these great siggies.  I would always use the gingerbread man!  Also, what a cute daughter you have.  I know you're proud of her!

BECKY....Learning to use Ebay is very easy (If I can do it, anyone can! LOL)  You can actually surf around without signing in or registering.  Just go to ebay and type in guitar and it will bring up all the ones for sale.  You will be able to look through what is out there, new and used.  You will be able to see what people are bidding and if you register, you can bid too.  The end time will be listed and when its over, you can see who won.  Its fun to watch even if you don't bid and it will give you an idea about how it works.  Good Luck!

KATHLEEN....I love your table theme!  Its wonderful to know that God does provide EVERYTHING we need!  Hope that was fun.

BELLE.....Beautiful sunflower!  Tell me, how hard is it to grow roses?  I've heard its tough...maybe thats just here in the south.

SHEILA.....Wow, you handled the zoo crises well!  Good job on that!

SHERRYS...You are so smart.....I don't know if I can do those cute siggies but I love yours.  Its especially nice the see the siggies with my own name!  LOL

    HAVE A GREAT DAY,GUYS!

    There's always time for gingerbread!

Re: June Cleaver Club Friday 5/16/08

    Hi girls,

Well, after a whirlwind of a week, TGIF!!!!!  NO plans for me today except to get a few loads of laundry done, and straighten up around the house.  However, will probably go to the gym for 30 mins or so after I drop the kids at school.  Gotta get that cardio in!!  I have not been sticking to my diet very well this past week or so, so want to make sure I at least exercise some.

It is going to be hotter-than-you-know-what today.  Expected to hit 103 - yikes.  Going to run the ac for sure.  Ray fixed the automatic sprinklers in the yard, so I don't have to worry about watering everything today - just my pots on the patio and a few spots along the back fence that the sprinklers don't reach.  Our garden is doing very well.  We picked our first crooked-neck squash the other day and have lots of baby cukes coming in.  and LOTS of flowers on the pepper plants.  Won't be long now.

Not sure what is for dinner tonight - with baseball and all the other activities we have had this week we have not eaten as healthfully as we should have, so want to make sure tonights dinner is a good one.  The boys have swim-team practice this afternoon, and tommy has a swim lesson afterwards, so we won't be home until almost 7pm.

Patti, enjoy your garage-saling!!  I love to do that too.  Hope you find some more bargains.

Sherry, glad you are feeling some better

Margie, thanks for sharing Emily's picture with us - she is quite a lovely young lady.  Is she thinking of joining the military after high school?

Hi Lisa, sorry you are having such crummy weather!  Wish I could share some of this heat with you

Jill, thanks for the recipe, sounds really delish - love those crunch/crisps, especially with vanilla ice cream

Waving hi and sending hugs to any friends I might have missed this morning.

Well, I better go and get my day started, have to make lunches and get a few things done before I get the boys up for school

    Have a good one, girls

    Cool kathleen

    Hi Denise!!

Hi Sherryh - you guys snuck in on me.   My table for the retreat yesterday was a lot of fun the kids LOVED decorating their cookies.  By the time most of them were done you could hardly even tell it was a cookie!!    Sorry to hear about your friend.  So, so sad.  Will keep her family in prayer.

Okay, NOW I am going to start my day - LOL

Just took my ginger snaps out of the oven and HAD to eat at least one.  Was good and so far that is all.  Mmmm-mmm good.

Sherryh, so sorry about the young mother at church.  How sad and how sad she and her DH didn't have a chance to say good bye.  will be praying.  Hope you have a good day.

Kathleen, sounds like yesterday was fun.  Hope you can relax today.

Denise, have fun? cleaning the living room.

Lisa, sorry your allergies have been acting up.  Hope they cooperate today.  Hope you can get done what you planned.  Have you had many kiddies lately?

Well, dryer has buzzed, guess I need to get clothes folded.  Ironing still awaits, may wait till tomorrow.  One of my least favorite jobs, but lately I've been doing it in the living room and watch a show I've taped.  Helps some

    Jill
