    Posted by: Ann_Marie_PA

    Cream:

    2 c. sugar

    1 c. shortening

    Add rest of ingredients:

    2 eggs

1/2 c. sour milk (or 1/2 c. sweet milk, add 1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice or vinegar)

    1/2 c. molasses

    1 tbsp. vanilla

    3 tsp. baking soda

    1 tsp. baking powder

    1 tsp. salt

    2 tsp. cinnamon

    1/2 tsp. cloves

    1 tsp. ginger

    5 to 6 c. flour

Drop teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. Makes 3 to 4 dozen.

These were a good soft cookie, tasted like old-fashioned Molasses Cookies.

I got a 145 cookies out of that! Surprise  And I used only 5 cups flour!   I'm not very good at measuring out cookie dough so I use either a teaspoon or tablespoon...I used the teaspoon for most of them. That's why so many cookies. Big Smile
