    Batter for Cake pans

    How much batter should I put in a 6", 8", 9" pan?

Are you asking how many cups it will require to fill in 6", 8", 9" pans ?

Or are you asking how far up should you fill the pans ?  The safest amount would be 2/3 full of the pan, regardless of size of pan.

It really depends upon the batter, with some, you'd want to fill the pans no more than 1/2 full, with others, you can go as high as 2/3.

You can pour water into the pans, to the desired level (1/2-2/3 full) then pour out into a measuring cup to get an idea of how much batter you will need for each different size.
