Morning everybody.
Margie, hope you get all you need. Have fun at the farmers market.
Patti, hope you get to feeling better. You sure get some great buys at yard sales. Wish I could go with you.
Deb, have fun at the boys party.
SherryH, sorry about the lady at church. Will be praying for them and your DH. Is Cherryville close to Winston-Salem? I gathered from one of your remarks that it might be. I went to school in Winston-Salem for awhile. Tiny little Baptist school that nobody ever heard of, but it is a really neat school. If you haven't heard of it, there is a wonderful program called Griefshare which was originated by a company called Church Initiative in WInston or Wake Forest or somewhere around there. I found out about it from the parish nurse coordinator. They have a website at
www.griefshare.org. It is part support group, part teaching about dealing with grief by some leading pastors, counselors, Christian authors, etc. They also have a place you can sign up to get a daily devotion by e-mail for a year. It has really helped me. I am getting ready to try to start a group for my church. On the website you can see what churches in your area if any have it. There are a lot here. I have been attending one group just to see how the group part works. It is nondenominational. It is just very Scriptural, very encouraging, very Christ-centered. I highly recommend it. It validates the things people are going through and lets them know the feelings are normal and they are not weird for feeling them, but it also challenges them to move on and not get stuck in grief. The same company also puts out a program called Divorce Care for people who were recently divorced. I haven't checked it out, but I bet it is good also.
Dowie, happy camping.
Cherie, happy vacation.
Jill, I never iron unless I am sewing. I hate it. Used to have to iron all my dads work shirts in the days before pemanent press...and Gregg used to be a security guard and his shirts required ironing. Probably won't get to swim today. Have to go get some RX filled, some pool chemicals and a couple groceries, go to the funeral, try to work in a visit at the hospital to a lady from church who had a hysterectomy, get gas for the truck, then go to the afternoon shift at work.
Might not get to swim tomorrow either because am supposed to be meeting old friends tomorrow. If I don't meet them, then I will get to swim. If I don't meet them, will try to do it Tuesday afternoon. The one who babysat me when I was little is only here for a few days. Her sister from AK will be here a couple weeks. 2 of the 3 also work for the post office. Her brother works in a suburb of Phoenix at a station. The one in AK also work at post office. THe one who lives in TN near my brother has her own company. This lady has had the best jobs and never went to college. She worked for FBI for a long time. Then she landed a job where she got paid to travel all over Europe and evaluate motels and restaurants. She did that for years. Then she got married and worked in a hospital in Morgantown WV as something in safety education for a long time. Then her DH got moved to CHattanooga, so she started her own company. She has written a book that is called the bible of safety programs. Her name is LInda Chaff. She does safety seminars all over the country for hospitals and places.
The physical was interesting. They forgot to tell me when I filled out the HR paperwork I have to take my original birth certificate so I have to go back Monday with that. The physical was way tougher than I thought it would be. They drew titers for MMR and chickenpox and if they come back ok, I'm fine. If not, need another booster, would have to wait three weeks to get chicken pox one. Gave me a tetanus shot, a color blindness test, a bunch of other tests. A bunch of exercises down on the floor (I didn't do that well on one type of the situps so then sent me to the doctor after the end to make sure my knee was ok--it is, I just needed something to hold my feet down to do that kind very well). Had to pick up 50 lb and hold it a chest height for 10 seconds three times. A lot of the exercise type things were like double leg lift and hold 10 seconds and one that was worse--lay on stomach and do double leg lift and hold for 10 seconds. Won't know until the lab come back if I passed or not. Because the drug screen is a sendout. HR gave me an MP3 player with a bunch of stuff loaded into it that I have to listen to.
Went to Prince Caspian last night. It was good. It wasn't very crowded at all. Love the cute little mouse :-)...and of course Aslan. I was glad someone had told me to read the book first. THat helped me understand the plot and part of the characters a little better. I bet you could find a summary of the plot on line somewhere. If you wanted, I could probably give you a short summary of what happened between The Lion, The Witch, and THe Wardrobe and Prince Caspian.
Sheila, didn't get a chance to check out house yet. Sorry.
