    Grannie Chat - May 18

Good Sunday Morning to the Grannies. May it be a blessed one for each of you.

I got up at 6 a.m., made coffee and went out to the deck to drink it. Before I went out I had a hummingbird looking in my window at a red geranium blooming there. While I was sitting out there, in my red winter robe, I had him come within 3 inches of me, investigating my robe. Also have two Orioles out there, a swarm of Gold finch and four Mourning Doves sitting on the electric wire. Plus lots of robins and Blackbirds. Had a Grosbeck yesterday, so hoping he'll come back today.

BTW, it is cold out there at 43*!!!!!

Hello Lily and Grannies to come. Just a quick hello as I should be in the shower. Must not be in the sleepy bears way when he gets up.

Sitting on the deck with coffee sounds nice. Still a bit cool for me though.

Lots of birds visiting you now. We had an oriole one day this week. Also have little Mourning doves and robins learning to fly. Mourning Doves have been cooing all morning so far. Love to hear them.

    Got to go----Be Back Soon!

    Good morning.

It took forever (20 minutes) to get here this morning. The page didn't want to load.  But after many tries here I am.

Lily, I can't imagine you sitting outside when it's this chilly. hehehe Your robe must be nice and warm. What a nice bunch of birds to entertain you this morning. How nice.

Suzi, I have to get in the tub yet too. If I go to church this way, I'll surely be sitting in my own "pew". LOL

PUlled pork sandwiches, potato salad, chips and rhubarb dessert for lunch today. I do hope that Patrick will be here too. We haven't seen him in a month.

No more time left, gotta hit the tub.

    Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good morning, this is the day the Lord has made and we're truly a blessed people.

Well I posted her this a.m. at 7:15 and it's gone.  I had a devil of a time to get it to come up and all that stuff.  I had no problems with other sights so it wasn't my computer or our provider.  I even tried DH's computer, same thing.  Oh well, thanks for opening.

The rolls are here!!  Bismarks, persian, apple fritters, donuts, donut holes, filled and unfilled sticks and jelly filled donuts.  Coffee and various flavors too!

LILY  How fortunate to have all those birds.  Send some my way please.  I'm still waiting for the hummer I saw last week to return.  We do have lots of doves and finch though.

SUZI  Sleepy Bear should be waking up soon!!  hope you're out of the shower!  LOL  Have a great day!!

Well this site is still slow, now I can't send it!

Not going to church this morning, but I have been sitting in God's chapel for 41 minutes. Enjoy the "sanctuary" of the green grass, plants and trees, the "choir" of the birds, and listening to the "sermon" of the corn and bean seeds growing in the fields. No better time to talk to our Lord than in the peace and quiet of the countryside.

Suzi, it was kind of chilly, but my robe is warm and I also put a small quilt over my shoulders. But now the wind has gotten stronger and started to feel colder.

Mamma, hope you see Patrick today.

Stylist, you posted while I was typing. Sorry you are having so much trouble with this site. It is working just like always for me. A little slow, but no more than usual.

    Have a good day!

Well, I had something written, but it is now in cyberspace, I guess.

LILY, the birds sure kept you entertained this morning. My neighbor puts grape jelly in the orange she puts out for the orioles. And, she uses a wire hanger for putting the orange out. The hook makes a good orange holder. Enjoy your sactuary, today.

SUZI, have a good church morning.

MAMMA, I was saying biggity-bosh, too, with the slow action here, this morning. Plus, it ate my first message. Hope you get to see Patrick, today.

STYLIST, well, I see we are all bemoaning with the same problem. Slow action, message eating board. Surely, a gooey roll will ease the stress. Thanks.

The choir sings at 8, so Laura is gone, already. Bells play at 10:30, so she will be at church all day. VBS is having an ice cream social for the kickoff, so Laura is helping with that and teaching a couple of songs that will be sung at VBS.

    Good Morning Everyone ...

Lily ... I agree, there is no placer closer to God than in the beauty of His universe. He always knows whats held in our hearts.

Suzi ... I'll whisper along side of you as not to wake up sleepy bear. Enjoy this beautiful day!

Stylist ... Now whatever would we do without Frito Man? I'll take an apple fritter and promise to be good the rest of the day!

Mamma ... Hope you make it to church on time! Your dinner sounds so good .... I have never attempted pulled pork but b/c I thought it would never come out tender. Let me know your secret recipe ... I really would love to try it. And I sure hope you get to see Patrick today! I can't imagine waiting so long. Sad

Good Morning atv ... Hope you have a nice day! Weather here is gorgeous right now but clouds rolling in later this afternoon. Kids have gone to Plymouth (MA) for a First Communion celebration on Steph's DH's side of the family. Hope the rain holds off until they are back early evening.

Just took some warm cinnamon rolls (made w/Bisquick) out of the oven to go along with Stylist's "store bought" rolls.

They are saying UV of 7 today. Never heard that reported before. I don't know what 7 means, but she said to be sure to use sunscreen. DH uses it, but I never have. Never burn, just get browner on my face. Haven't uncovered any other skin this season!

    Good Morning...

DS left this morning around 6:45 for NY.  It will be about a 12 hr drive to Kingston.  And will be back here Thurs night or Friday.  I can't believe he was here all week and I never got one picture of him....that's not like me at all.  He's usually dodging the camera.  I'll have to make sure I have it sitting out when he comes back.

Didn't make it to church this morning.  DH & I walked down to the pancake breakfast at the fire station.  It was a nice morning to walk.

When I got up and looked out the window, I saw the bad cat walking through the yard.  So, needless to say, I didn't let Toby out.  He sure doesn't need a run in with that cat.

I guess DH and I are going plant shopping this afternoon.  We got our front yard all ready last spring, but never did any planting.....so this year we have to get busy.

    Have a great day everyone...........

I was having a hard time posting this.  Good thing I saved what I wrote so I could re-paste it here.

Just checking back to see if anyone else is here and no one! Are you all having so much trouble accessing this site? I'm not having any problems. Keep refreshing and it comes right back like normal. Strange!

Nancy, DH built me a place to put Oriole goodies. It has a roof over it, and a spot in the center to put a small container for jelly. Then two spikes on which I skewer orange halves. I often have one eating jelly while a second one is sucking juice from an orange.

Hi CJ, just missed you! Yes, be sure to have the camera out so we can see pictures of DS and his GF.

Mouse doesn't like me, but as soon as DH came downstairs he jumped off the couch and went right to him. He also follows him all around the yard! Smile DH says it is because I'm always wanting to touch him and cats don't like that. Maybe!!

     Gooooood Morning, Grannies!!

Another cold,40, but sunny start to the day.

Lily, That is kind of cold for me to sit on the deck. I wouldn't want to scare the traffic going by either.  But watching all those birds is so much fun. I hope your grosbeak hangs around. There are 4 here and they sing so pretty in the morning. We don't have a cardinal near here in the morning this year. I miss waking up to his song. I never heard of the UV numbers either.

Suzi, How is DS? Did he make it home alright? I hope his foot is getting better.

Mamma, I hope Patrick makes it today. I bet he and Buddy have a good time together.

Stylist, my reply box took forever to show up.  I'll have a jelly filled donut this morning, Thanks to you and FM.

Nancy, Laura sure is a busy gal. She takes after her DM.

MA, This is cyber food so no calories. So you can have someting good at home too.

Cjayh, The time the kids are home always goes so fast. You have another visit to look forward to. I hope you get a picture when they come back. I will copy my message as I tried to refresh and it is working really slow.

Not sure what we will do today. Duke is coming after SS and then staying for the afternoon.  I baked some poppy seed bread this morning, but had to do lot of substituting.

    Prayers and hugs for all.

Hi Lily....I'm not having any problems posting now.  It comes right up for me.  Toby is like that...he follows me everywhere in the yard and lays down when I stop to do something...then right back up and on to where ever else I'm going.  And he loves to be petted and brushed.  Frisco likes petting but doesn't care much for being held.  Usually the one that feeds and gives the treats is the one they will hang with...LOL
