    question about jam recipe

I found a recipe on the site called Strawberry Rhubarb Jam.  It says to add the strawberries, rhubarb, lemon juice and pectin and bring to a full rolling boil.  THEN to add the sugar and boil for 1 minute.  My question is, is this right?  Don't you usually add the sugar first and the pectin last?  Thanks!

This is correct if the pectin used is dry.

Do you have a Ball canning book or Sure Jell instructions? If so use the Strawberry jam recipe and just put the rhubarb in. substituting some of the rhubarb for some of the strawberries. I made some and it is so good. If I can find my recipe I will post it for you.
