OT- Fundraisers

The pregnency center in our area is in great need of T&T fundraiser ideas. I know you wonderful women have a wealth of ideas.I read them all the time. From how to work the computer to remedies for health & life. Could you please help us to save precious lives? Please ladies help me keep this bumped

I buy from all of the fundraisers that my grandkids have participated in.  Some of the ones I've bought from recently, was:

Little Caesars: Pizza kits, salad kits

 $ candy bars, (and other's).

I buy a lot of cookbooks from frundraisers (in fact I just submitted some of my own for a community fundraiser, for improvements to our Community Rec Center.)

Blue and Gold, (sausage, chicken, bacon)

Cookie Dough

Wrapping paper, etc.

These are just some of the things I can think of.  If you have people who make quilts, you could also have raffles, if they are allowed where you live.

I'm not sure if all of these things are available in your area, but cookbooks usually sell pretty good.  I hope you get some ideas from some of the other posters.

My personal favorites to buy from are either raffles or the candy bars.  That way, especially with the candy bars, you give your money-get your candy and its done.  The same with raffle tickets--if you win, they call you.

I rarely buy from any fundraisers (except grands, of course) where you place an order---forget you placed the order-and it shows up 6 weeks later.  I really don't like doing orders either way---paying upfront or being surprised when your order arrives and you have to pay for it.  Perhaps others are more organized and keep things straight but that is just my opinion.

Our pregnancy center has a baby shower twice a year. People bring blankets, gift certificates, cash, diapers, infant clothes, bottles, etc......anything for a newborn.  Bassinets are set up in the back of many churches to collect the stuff after services. This is in turn given to young mothers who chose to keep their babies, rather than abort them. I am not sure what is done with the cash, but I assume somthing is purchased with it, rather than handing out the cash.......maybe formula??

Our pregnancy center sends empty baby bottles to various church and community members.  Those who want to participate will fill the bottles with change and return by a certain time.

Thank you all who sent suggestions. We do the baby bottles, but I was surprized at the churches that did not want to participate. We are in a tourist area in N. Florida and I'm sure the cookbook idea would work well. I'm just not sure of the legal end of producing one. Again thank you for answering.

There's a place called Country Reflections that does candles in crocks or just the crocks by themselves (they have a gazillion pictures you can choose from to put on the front of the crocks). I know they do fund raisers because they did it for a friend of mine. Here's what she did...

She went to their website www.creflections.com and looked at the pictures to go on the decorated crocks. She chose a few different designs and then chose candle frangrances to go with them. She bought them tax exempt because it was for a company and they had the tax exempt forms. A little money saver. Anyway, they have several sizes of crocks from 1/2 pt. to gallon size. Then she sold them at a fund raiser bazarre for double the cost. I can't remember how much she charged but it was very reasonable. Also, you wouldn't have to get the candles, just the decorated crock. But candles are big sellers. This company, if I remember correctly, had a lot of seasonal scents. Try them out. I don't have the info in front of me but the website should have the phone number. My friend picked her stuff out online and then called to make the order so that she talked to a real person and there was no confusion about what she wanted.

I just went to the website and thought I would help you out a little more...

Once on the site, go to the left side and put your cursor on "Decorated Crocks" - a drop down menu will appear and you can view the different categories of pictures. The "Americana" are really cute and would be good sellers for the summer since July 4th is coming up. The "Baskets" are really cute too. Anyway, check out the pics and see what you think.

They have a section on candles too but it's mostly refills and they don't talk about fund raisers, it's just refills BUT there are some pics of candles inside the crocks so you can get an idea of what they would look like.

I don't know anything about this company, they may give you a deal or not. They're all different. But it's a great idea. Hope that helps!

Cookbooks are great fundraiser projects... I know I have bought many of them and I am always looking for another to add to my collection.. tried and true recipes and the money goes for a good cause.... JMHO   bdett

Our Animal Resuce center used to do an annual auction. This year however, they are doing a craft vendor show.  A 6 foot table and 2 chairs is $45.  Then they send you an email to send out to your clients to come to the vendor show.  They are also selling food and drinks there.  Our Childhod ed program does something simular but it is all crafts and vendors, I think they charge $50 for no table and $75 for a table.  Both of them have the vendors donate for raffles/door prizes.

Hope you come up with some great ideas.
