    High heels for babies......

    http://www.heelarious.com/

    heežlaržižous [he-lair-ee-uhs] - noun:
extremely funny, completely soft, fully functional
high heel crib shoes for babies.

Not intended for walking (heel will collapse with weight).

Not intended to harm children in any way.

WARNING:  May cause extreme smiling and hysterical laughter when in use (this is completely normal).

The ladies who started this company were on a news program this morning and they were definitely put on the hot seat. The news people wanted to know why they invented something for a baby that would put them in a "sexualized" light.  They wanted them just to be a novelty and a keepsake "her first pair of high heels". At around $35.00 I'd rather get a functional shoe for my baby daughter then something that's just cutsey. They outgrow shoes so fast as it is.

They don't look any different (other then more expensive) then the dress up glass slipper in the dress up kits for little girls.  The news people need to go attack all the costum and dress up mfg and ask the same question.  JMHO

Aything to make a buck!   When the economy really bottoms out, these things will not be what the mommies will need to buy. LOL

Oh come on!  Sexualized?  Just because their crib shoes look like this

    rather than this?

So are babies being animalized when their parents dress them in bunny one-pieces?

My DD's MIL says girls shouldn't wear jeans, t-shirts or sneekers.  I guess she thinks it till turn them gay.  My DD and myself have always worn them and they haven't changed us.

Guess what I gave my DGD at the babyshower in front of the MIL.  A pink john deer t-shirt, john deer sweetpants and little Convers (sp) sneakers.  I didn't have the nerve to look at her face though.  I chickened out.Angel

Grelo, I went to their site.  The "heels" are soft like stuffed animals.  These are crib shoes for infants, not toddler shoes.  They only look like high heels.

So much research has been done on "my" generation and the knee and hip replacements and bad backs and they seem to all agree that the wearing of the high heels have contributed to much of the problems.  They generate tremendous pressure on the knees and the hips. Backs are displaced to keep the balance. Why would you want to subject a child to this?  I can't even imagine the deformities that could errupt from this!  Nothing to say about the sexuality that is implied with a high heeled shoe............

There are all kinds of 'cutsie' things out there for babies especially when it comes to booties. They are not going to be walking in these, lol.

The price is kind of out there, lol, but I am sure there will be a lot of people buying them for shower gifts.

While I think these are beyond ridiculous, I don't think any deformities will result from using them.  They are crib shoes, not walking shoes.  Decorative, not functional.  They won't cause any more damage to feet, legs and spines than a pair of socks.
