    cassein free cheese?

I know from many posts I have read, that many of us have multiple allergies. My son shows gluten and cassein intolerance. Does anyone know of a cheese option. We purchased a soy cheee and later found it had lactic in it. So I am back to square one. Thanks!

Hi, Finding dairy free cheese is not easy! There are 2 components to dairy that can cause problems. Lactose - the sugar component. Casein - the protein component. There are a few that are completely dairy free [no lactose, no casein].

    I hope this helps!

Check out http://store.nexternal.com/shared/StoreFront/default.asp?CS=vegane&StoreType=BtoC&Count1=226574122&Count2=143714547&CategoryID=1&Target=products.asp. All of their cheese is caesin free. We've tried several of them and although they aren't like real cheese they weren't too bad. The price is outrageous but if you want cheese you don't have much of an option.

DH likes the Soymage Parmesan, the Follow Your Heart is Ok, The Vegan singles by Galaxy Foods are pretty good and do melt but have partially hydrogenated fat, The ChReese powder in Mozzarella was not bad, but doesn't make much. I had to use two packets to thinly cover a pizza. We also tried one of the other Cheddar or Blue cheese products and found it to be pretty good. I can't remember which one it was. I haven't tried the newest Mozzarella, Teese, but might order it in my next order. DH's DD is coming to visit and she is vegan so both of them could enjoy pizza.

I like that they have consumer reviews on their web site too.

I am not affiliated with vegan essentials or any of the cheese manufacturers.
