    Hi Everyone

Hope everyone is doing great tonight.

I am like Kathie what do you use to make the holes in the blanket so you can crochet the edging around it. Some kind of punch? Marcia any advice? You are so good at everything.

Kathie your DD's afghan was gorgeious. Love the color combos.

Betty I am sure your mittens will turn out fine. My pattern should have arrived by now.

I need to get some stitching done on my baby sweater before bed so better get to it. Have a good night all. Jeanette

I have never done the edging... but one of my books that I have says to use a metal crochet hook (I would assume the smaller ones for crochet thread) and poke holes evenly around..!!  That to me has not sounded fun.. so that is why I haven't done it.  I al would think you could use a hole punch and create holes.  LOL.. and thanks for the compliment!  :)

the dog fabric that I got?  It says Spotty Dog! That is why I HAD to get it.  I ahve finished up a dozen burb towels and am gong to do the blanket on Saturday. My DH thinks the fabric is fun too.. and men aren't too interested in fabric, you know... when we were at the store getting it, he was in the car waiting with the dog.  When I showed him the fabric, I told him that he must have fallen asleep because Spot found me in the store and grabbed this fabric and brought it to me... lol

Well, I am suppose to be working.. shhh.... but needed a break!  But back to the grindstone.

    Hi Y'all!

Jeanette - thank you for the pattern.  It looks like one I can handle.

Did I tell you all about THE MITTEN?  Well, I'm pretty sure I told you I finished one.  I left my yarn bag by the chair I usually sit it.  While I was at work, DS was working outside, and our puppy, Piper, was inside feeling lonely.  Piper decided to crochet the second mitten for me.  2 days later, I'm still untangling the yarn.  I swear, it seems like there is about 2000 yds of yarn in that little skein!

I got a gift card for Hobby Lobby for my birthday - woo hoo - more yarn!!!!

    Be a blessing!

When I do towel tops I use a needlepoimt large eye needle with yarn and do a row of blanket stitch across top.  I think you could do this around the blanket.  The needle goes through material pretty easy.   After you get around fasten off yarn and work end  in when you crochet.  Start your crochet edging in  blanket stitch.  You can make each blanket stitch  as close together or far apart as you want but you probably should be sure each side across from each other has same amount of stitches and be sure you have a corner to do three stitches or whatever number your pattern would call for in the corner.  Hope this works for you.

    Hi Everyone

Evelyn thanks for the advise. I never thought of doing a blanket stitch. I have tons of flannel and I thought blankets with edgings would be a good way to use it up.

Betty I can't tell you how many times my two dogs have gotten into my yarn and sometimes ruined the yarn. I have learned after many hard lessons to keep it way up out of their reach. Glad you got the pattern.

Kathie we have Hobby Lobby's here in Iowa and I hope to get to one this weekend. I will look for the yarn you are wondering. It is I love that yarn brand right and candy corn is the color? I would be glad to get some for you and send it if I find it if you would like.

Not much else going on. I started the sleeve to my sweater last night. So I did get to crochet some. Went to our bible school program. the kids are so cute.

Sure glad it is Friday and I won't tell Marcia you sent a message on work time. I do it sometimes to. Sometimes you just need a break.

Everyone have a good weekend. Jeanette

CUtsie:  Thank you for your idea of doing a blanket stitch around a blanket & then crocheting an edges from there!!    I am writing that down with my patterns under blankets............... :O)

Janette:   OH!! How nice of you..............yes !!  the yarn is I Love That Yarn & "Candy Corn ombre" is the color............as long as a skein will  do a baby  sweater [see what you think; if they are 4 0z. skeins]  & "Boo Ombre  if they have it!!!!!!    I will pay for the yarn & the shipping.........Thank you sooooooooooooo much!!

I am going to look in my plastic canvas patterns for the Santa Squeese Me Kissie pattern requested....I may have it.     It is SO NICE that everyone is willing to help each other out here on Crafters & Yarn Chat!!  :O)

The lawn is still waiting....it's been raining or too hot!!!    Maybe I'll have to check out that goat again...........lol

    Have a good night everyone!Sleep

    Re: ::: YARN CRAFTERS CHAT ::: 22nd - 28th of JUNE

    hi everyone

Kathie I did make the trip to Hobby Lobby today. The store only had two skeins of candy corn and two skeins of Boohoo. The Boohoo was not bundled the best but they are ok I think so I got both of each. If you only want one of each that is fine. They were on sale for 2.22 a skein. Just let me know and I will get it shipped. That is the first time I had ever heard of or seen the I love this yarn. It is soft and reasonably prices.

I got some other yarn on the bargain rack also. So now I have to figure out what to make with it.

Well better get to doing something. Have a good night all. Jeanette
