Good morning and happy Canada Day everyone. We have been very busy, had a wonderful weekend away at the birthday party. Then yesterday Deb,hubby and Jeremy arrived here, we had all met at Kindersley on Sat  and they stayed there to visit with his family.

Today is our annual sports day and a wonderful day it will be. Starts off with a pancake breakfast and then all the usual, ball games, kids games, bingo  and lots of good food to eat. Then tonight at dark everyone gets free hotdogs and then the fireworks.

Better get going to breakfast as I have to work in one of the booths from 9 to 11. Hope everyone has a super day and safe travels to anyone on the road.

Is your sister still having a book signing on Sat, Meesh. My computer is going in to the Dr. on Sat. hopefully it will work better when I get it back. We are leaving on holidays on the 7th till the 14th.

    Gotta run,       Dolores

Well now, after triple checking the forecast and double checking the incubators, we're going to put out the first of the bee trays.  We have 4 million bees in the incubators.  Most years we use 6 million for our own pollination.  Were they honey bees they were using in NB?   I do know they have been using leafcutters in some of the blueberry patches

Guess I'd better get moving while conditions are right.

It said in the news reports here that they were honey bees.  One poor reporter got stung about 15 times.

Happy Canada Day! It's a gorgeous summer day...25*C...MUCH nicer than yesterday's 31*. I slept with a ceiling fan on as well as a table fan till 5, and then it was over...couldn't get back to sleep. Am just home. *Later today I return to work another evening and overnight. Shouldn't be AS hot tonight. I left my table fan there just in case. *Raspberries...YUM! We still have some from last summer. The new ones in the garden should be ready in a couple of weeks. I need to make some more jam. *Our potatoes are blooming. We should soon have little ones to steal from under the plants. *(((HUGS))) and prayers for Ann...as you await your surgery. *DH went to the pancake breakfast. Hope you all have a great and wonderful day! ***JP***

Good morning Ladies!!  Happy Canada Day to all!

Just got back from Meadow Lake at Las Des Isles (Big Island Cove).  Dolores would know where that is.  We left on Thur and then on Sat went to our nephews  wedding.  Came back on Sunday night.  Dolores, where are you guys going to again?

Back to work yesterday for a couple.  We had a really bad thunderstorm here last night.

    Better get back to work.

    Happy Canada Day!

Wishing my fellow Canadians a very special day!

May we celebrate the fact that we are free to spend today as we wish (for the most part) doing the things we love in a country that allows us to live a life full of blessings and good things.

I am proud to be a Canadian and I am so grateful my parents chose this great country to make their home so I would be born into the land of the FREE!

One of the great benefits is that we have the liberty to explore other places and travel at will... so I'll admit, I'm loving this time at the ocean.  I've been sitting here watching the ocean waves hit the beach.  The tide is coming in.... there is something about those waves that is so mesmerizing.... their consistency, their power, their beauty.    And probably the fact  that there is no ocean in Alberta makes this even more special.

But I wanted to stop in and wish you all a special day!   Enjoy those barbeques, your family and friends, and the parades and fireworks.

Have a very special day everyone!

It's fall - I'm starting to dream of turkeys and pumpkin pie. For us Canadians it's happening this month! Lucky aren't we!

    Happy Happy Canada Day!

I watched a program on TV last night called "The Border" and it was about a terrorist attack and so forth - in Canada. Just a story, but this woman who was calling the shots was American with Homeland Security and she really teed me off. All I could think was "How dare she take over like that - in Canada!"

I always knew you couldn't totally leave your roots behind.

I am so proud to be a Canadian!

Hi everyone..and hope you are having a nice Canada Day.

I mowed the lawn this morning before it got hot out there. Our highs are expected to reach 34 today with a 60% chance of rain or thunderstorms. If we get the storm , then we can expect strong winds as well.

Went out to return some stuff and pick up a few things as well. Have a chum salmon to go on the barbie tonight. Have dad and stepmom coming over to enjoy it with us. Just going to have a fruit salad for dessert. Everything else will be salads or stuff cooked on the bbq. Keeps the heat down in the kitchen.

Other than that, we are relaxing this afternoon. No plans to head down to the Canada Day celebrations in the park. Too, too many people! Fireworks tonight too..but not for us.

    Enjoy your day all!
