    Re: Canadian Corner 03/07/08

Wow, quiet bunch today.  Must all be busy!

I never made it out to weed this morning.  I was talking to my parents and they were heading into town.  My niece is with her dad and them this week, so I offered to have her stay here rather than squish into the cab of the truck with her grandparents.  She's 12, and I could have gone out, but didn't.  Decided to spend time with her instead.  They were jsut going to pick up some building supplies (Dad is re-doing the facia around the house) and a few groceries. Not all that exciting for a 12 yr old.

So, now the sun is full force and it is warming up.  Guess I'll have to wait now til this evening to weed.  Heehee - then dh will be home and able to help!

Off now to root through the freezer for something for supper.  Dad stopped by one of the veggie stands on the way home and dropped me off a cabbage.  Yummy!  Boiled with some butter and vinegar!  Too bad dh doesn't like it that way.

Hi! We got an unexpected holiday this afternoon. The transformer for the block our biulding is on blew and of course shut everything down. Saskpower was able to bring the power back for a bit wo we could leave the building. The thought of going down the stairs from the 17th floor was not looking too good.  I might go have a nap! Not even sure if we will be able to work tomorrow. Have to go down in the am to see!

Well, I typed up this huge post with a bunch of cute siggies yesterday and then I hit the wrong button, and it disappeared. I was not about to do it all again. So I am here today.

    Ann, thinking about you today!

I am home from seniors' shopping at Safeway. Went quite well today. That is great.

We had a huge thunderstorm on July 1st. Wasn't too bad right over us, but I guess it was pretty intense in places.  The winds were gusting to over 90k at times! Lots of trees down, and just a general mess.

We have more storms in the forecast for today. Hopefully we get good rain too. We need it. So dry out there!

Oh well, I need to carry on with my day here.

Hey everyone-back from work. Always a good day when it's the last day of the week.  Crea-the flowers we are selling now are more patio pots & baskets.  We do still have some flats but if you haven't planted your flats around here now you probably aren't going to.  Now they're just filling in spots with patio pots, baskets that dried up, forgot to get watered, just don't look good with the weather that are being replaced and pool parties that need patios to spruce the place up.  I'm hoping for only another 3 weeks or so and we'll be done.  The market we go to does fresh produce, fruit, baked goods, eggs, chickens and lots of flowers.  I suppose we could do the vegetable thing; but it's very time consuming and with the flowers there just isn't that much time.  Anyways, I better go think up something for supper with the chicken left over from last night.  DS has a friend over and DH is napping on the couch so I have a little time.  TTYL

Just a hello to say we are back to the almost real world!  My three days sure do fly when having fun!!  The calendar says we were gone for a total of seven days, but one day in Barkerville, one day at the beach, and one day in Quesnel, now explain to me what happened to the other four?!!!!

Oh we certainly found sunshine!  Hot hot, 33º, and the last night a thunderstorm to boot.  Apparently our town got hit with a three hour lightning storm that apparently started forest fires, I just keep forgetting to listen to the news, it certainly is either hazy or smokey out there!

Prayers for Ann as she goes thru surgery.

I will be on like regular tomorow!

    Charlene
