    Wouldn't you know it.  I FINALLY got a chance to pop on and actually chat and there were not many sisters posting today...sigh...anyhow...

    Linda, sorry you misplaced your earring.  I hope there is not a pretty little dog running about wearing it!!!!!!!!  I hope you find it soon. But if not, STOP looking and make sure you keep the one you do have because when you least expect it, it will show up and if you get rid of the other one you will be very sad.  Happens to me all the time.

    Mary, enjoy the reunion this weekend.  And when you get time, I posted a response to your "what you can't find in this area" post, maybe it wil help you locate it.

    Miss Lindachicken, I also posted a response ot your "what you cant' find in this area" post that might help.  My trip is not here yet, I just have been excited about it for too long, it's actually THIS Sunday and Monday.  So, I'll let you know when I get back.

    Hi Jenn, it's nice to meet you, stop and chat any time.

    Miss Susie Pumpkin, I know what you mean about having to read and catch up, I'm behind the entire week.  I think Miss Redawana might have those recipes you need, I think I remember her posting them, hopefully she will see your request soon.

    Maryann and Evie, I hope your day is a good one.

    Prayers and well wishes for all in need!

    Have a wonderful day!

    Take care!

    For Sue, these are from the search.

    How about these? Pudding Shots

    1 small pkg. INSTANT choc. pudding
    3/4 C. milk
    1/4 C. Vodka
    1/2 C. Irish Cream
    8 oz. Extra Creamy Coolwhip

    Mix pudding and milk for a couple of minutes with an electric mixer, then add alcohol, mix well. Mix in Coolwhip.

    Put into individual serving cups with lids and I furnish plastic spoons. Keep in the freezer.

    Daquiri Jell-O

    * Large Box (or two smalls) Lime Jell-O
    * 2 cups boiling water
    * 1+1/4 cup cold water
    * 1/4 cup Triple Sec
    * 1/4 cup Dark Rum
    * 1/4 cup Light Rum

    Mix the usual way. These are tasty... the 3/4 cup of liquor gives it a little more kick.

    3 packages of Jello (containing sugar)
    1 1/2 Cups Vodka
    3 1/2 Cups Water

    Bring the water to a boil and remove from heat. Slowly stir in the Jello until dissolved. Wait a couple minutes and stir in the vodka.

    Pour into a tray and chill. Cut Jello into indivdual shot size pieces.

    LIME IN THE COCONUT JELLO SHOTS

    1 package lemon Jello
    2 packages lime Jello
    2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
    1 can coconut milk or juice
    2 cups coconut rum
    2 1/4 cups water

    Bring water to the boil and remove from heat. Slowly stir in the 3 Jello packages, then add the water, the coconut milk or juice, and the lime juice. You put the lime in the coconut and mix it all together.

    Wait 3-4 minutes and stir in the rum. Pour into individual serving sized or plastic shot glasses and chill.

    GREAT JELLO SHOTS

    1 package jello (any flavor works)
    1 cup vodka
    1 cup boiling water
    1 pack gummy bears

    Dissolve 1 package Jello into the boiling water. Once dissolved and the cup of vodka. Pour into individual shot glasses, I prefer to use disposable Dixie bathroom cups they are perfect for large quantities of shots.
    After pouring drop a gummy bear into each shot(mixing colors gives nice effect).

    Its muggy here, but still just in the 80's  Clouds are building high.

    I have beef in the crockpot for bbq beef (with bbq sauce in it)

    DH has been asked to work 12 hour days and 8 on saturday, giving him just one day to relax, I wish there was a way I could figure out to do the grocery shopping instead of him.

      WHEW!!!!  I'm worn out!!  I love Amber with all my heart, but...that child takes it out of me!   Tongue Tied    She went home a while ago and now it's soooooo quiet I turned the tv on for noise!  Stick out tongue

      I got up at 5am this morning to get DH off to work.  I turned on the kitchen light and....."poof", the light bulb blew.   Angry  Fixed his lunch in the dark...OK...there was a nightlight on.  Went in to the computer room to check weather and mail.  I was reading the weather report and my screen started jiggling.  Then it started shrinking, got down to one thin line and "Poof!"  Nothing!   Super Angry  That was that. I had a heck of a time getting my puter shut down.

     I called DD and told her to come pick up Amber. She asked why I wasn't bringing her home.  I told her about the early morning gremlins and then said, "I'm afraid to drive my car. After the light and puter, I'm afraid to touch the car. I can't afford to get it fixed!"  Stick out tongue   I'm not superstitious, mind you,(knock on wood), but...why push it?   Big Smile   Any who, she came over and brought DGS's old monitor for me.  I took DH's monitor and gave DGS's monitor to him.  We got everything straightened out and here I am.   Big Smile   OK....DD got things straightened out.

    Purplechef ~ Thank you sooooooo much for the Chocolate Cobbler recipe!!!!!!!  Everyone's coming over Sunday, so I'll probably be making it on Saturday.  I'm hoping there will be some left.    Big Smile

      I'm gonna head out and enjoy some peace and quiet for awhile.  Talk to y'all later!

        Keep Smiling!  It makes people wonder what you're up to!!      Big Smile

       Hugs,

    Hello Everyone,

    Redawna did you everdecide what to do with the Molasses you bought. When you mentioned it the first thought that came to my head was Gingerbread - here's a recipe I found on Canadian Living http://www.canadianliving.com/food/new_fashioned_gingerbread.php - thought I'd make DD some bran muffins and use up some bananas in the recipe - someone must have a recipe for bananna bran muffins.

    Hello RV Girl, thanks for bumping the master list - I posted my short list - hope my SS will post - but I do have an idea of some of the things she likes an dislikes from a previous round.

    Lynn - I'm looking forward to SATURDAY.  I'm staying at Heidi's house Friday night so that we can get an early start to get on the road to see you.

     Linda Chicken - has it stopped raining yet - we've had sheets of it here in Toronto and its finally stopped - thankfully our basement is dry.  I appreciate all the prayers for my MIL - In my visit with her yesterday she looked so frail and very sweet.  Mixed degrees of sadness when I talk to her because she was glad to see me - but like Nancy's MIL - has some very odd opinions about things.

    Thinking of you Nancy.

    China - you hit the nail on the head - we do need to get excited about something on the Down with Pounds - I think we need a new challenge - doesn't have to be a weight loss number - could be anything. I suspect many people have been going to Spark People - I find it a wonderful inspiration. Originally we branched off from the DWP thread for a one month challenge.

    Paula - that cat in your pic is so very pretty and proper and smart looking.  Hope he doesn't have a taste for birds.  I love birds myself. My father raised, and raced homing pigeons - some happy memories of that time.

    Connie - that inmate with his very thin argument sounds like a real stinker.  I bet he "files" everytime he thinks he can make an argument for something.

    Evelyn - You must live in a very pretty town.  I can just image that quaint wool shop - and a motion picture being made there  - that's exciting.  My DH was cast in a movie with Valery Bertonelli - he's no movie star - no it was back in our salad days and our neighbour owned a company called REEL PEOPLE and he was cast as an EXTRA.  That was a long time ago.  he worked all week, and then to earn some extra money he went out on the weekend - up at 5 am.  We live in HOLLYWOOD NORTH LOL.  We'd be rich if DH had pursued a career as a comedian - because he can be gut bustingly funny - but I'm getting off topic again.

    Prayers for you Sandy and Susie Pumpkin and everyone who needs them.   hello Purple Chef, Rebecca Lee, Linda and Marcia and a special hello to Canteatmuch - I haven't seen a post by you so I think you are probably travelling on business, but I think of you often.  Once again, I want to mention that the book you sent me was so encouraging.

    DD went to see another GI specialist today.  The new Doctor is going to do another Endoscopy next week.  As always I'm hopeful.  DH has gone off to visit his mother - a lesion was found on her CAT Scan - we don't know what it is - but she is comfortable but missing her beloved dog Rex.  I'll visit my own mother today who is in a Seniors Home - she's doing remarkably well at 93 and she was concerned to hear about DH's mother.   Hugs to everyone, jeanie

    I am also still doing the secret shopper things also and will do some of them this weekend.

    How well does that pay.  I've thought about doing but I'm not sure if I can or not because I worked at a place that had secret shoppers.

    I'm Ba-ack!  Don't worry (Karen) . . . I'll try not to be too chatty this evening . . .

    Karen . . . do you think sneaking away for your birthday is going to allow you to SKIP your birthday (and not get older)??  Not a chance!  Just keep that in mind!!

     Redawna - I'm not sure if those were the pudding / jello shots that were posted earlier or not . . . but I'm going to have to work on turning those into sugar-free recipes.  Just thought something a little different would be fun.  Hmmm - my favorite is chocolate-mint . . . wonder if I could do anything with chocolate pudding and peppermint schnaps.  If anybody else has other varieties of these pudding / jello shots . . . please post them too.   When we all make them, we'll all be feeling happy!!

    BTW - excuse my ignorance . . . but I never noticed that search line up above.  Guess it's a little more than just a DUH moment, eh?

    Redawna & Linda . . . we're already thinking Gingerbread houses?  The box kits aren't even out on the shelves yet!!!  LOL ... JUST KIDDING!!

    Linda . . . isn't it funny how the pee-ons do all the work . . . and the big-wigs win the big trips?  I think they should take all the store employees with them!!  lol

    Susie (Ventura) and China . . . I sure hope you're both feeling better soon.

    Oh Lau-u-urie . . . where are you?  Beep Beep!!

    Man - I lost one day of reading posts because of my internet being down . . . and I feel like I'm so far behind!  Somewhere I recalled reading a post from somebody about bluebirds.  I too, am watching a nest of bluebird eggs . . . as of yesterday, they were still eggs.  One almost looked like it was getting a little 'pimple' in it, so I wonder if it's getting ready to hatch out.  I haven't been out to check them today . . . maybe I should.  The bluebirds are so pretty when they're flying around.  I also love watching the hummingbirds.  Heck - I just love watching the birds!!

    I should probably try to think of something clever for my SS . . . so she doesn't think I've forgotten about her.  Whew - we have a clever bunch of SSs here . . . secret code names, secret e-mails, packages, birthday presents, anniversary stuff . . . you guys are on top of things!!!

    For now though, I'm going to go clean / organize in my storage room.  Tomorrow we go to pick up DD from camp.  She'll be home for a few days, then both DD and DS leave for Group WorkCamp.  There, they can get snail mail and e-mails . . . so I'll be busy trying to brighten their days and bring them smiles . . . and let them know how proud I am of them . . . and how much God loves them for serving him through the Group WorkCamps . . .through various mailings.  Anybody want to help?  I can give you their address if you wish!!

    Oh wait . . . you newbies . . . pat yourselves on the back . . . I see you posting and keeping with the flow of things . . . you're off to an awesome start and we're thrilled to have you as part of our 'family'!!!

    Okay, now . . . hugs to all my sister friends . . . and an extra special hug for my two special secret sisters.

    Susie-Pumpkin

    Two months ago when I went to Medford, Oregon, I did seven shops that paid $85 for about 15 minutes work each.  This month there are some major incentives because of the gas prices so it will be quite a bit more for 6 jobs.   I did 2 last month for $25 each.  I have also done some for $15 each.  It depends.  I am willing to go 50 miles north if I can do several in the same area.  I can handle a few each month and it gives me extra money for a few fun things.

    It was very hot early in the week.  ON Saturday, I am going to leave early in the am like 6:30 to be cool when I go up and come home in the evening when it is cooler.  By September, it should be cooler when I do that again.

    I pity the people in the Chico/Oroville/Paradise area.  They are saying 54,000 acres had burned already and is getting worse.  The town of Paradise was evacuated.

    Connie, how bad is the smoke over by you?  Cookiema, how is the smoke where you are?
