mornin ladies.  I'm off sick today.  DH is at church, the kids want to join him later (he is doing sound) but I will be a woman of leisure today, hey, that's not all bad!  Then after church the plan is to go to PG to celebrate DH's dad's birthday, with DQ ice cream cake.  I may skip that, and just enjoy a peaceful house!  Hmmmm, when was the last time I had the entire house to myself for a day?  Even if I feel somewhat better, I just may take advantage of this! LOL.  Don't tell DH!  SHHHHH!

Ann, good to see you post, enjoy your country drive, prayers for you (( ))

Katie, WHAT!!  Your selling your house????  What for?  Is it because the kids moved out and is now too big?  Oh wait, I had a nother thought, is this your mother's house that is for sale?  Whatever, I hope it sells quickly.  Is the market strong where you live?  In my town, your lucky if your house stays on the market more then two weeks, things are still booming.

Anica, continual prayers for Samantha, how much can a child bear?  I cannot imagine what that family is going thru.

Yooper, rearange the mess, LOL, good one!  Sounds like me!

I have a recipe for making blooming onion, but you can't usually get anything beside, white, red, and regular onion in my town.  Wonder if the regular onion would still be good?  I sure do love onion rings!

Oh oh, Cookie and her hand?  Now what did that chickie do?  Sheesh, she didn't tell me!  I'll go giver her heck about whatever it is, don'tcha ladies worry, I take care of my little sister.  I'm guessing she was being careless because her mind is wondering.  Losing an animal is not an easy thing.  ((Claire))  Must I come beat you up chickie?  You know I will if I have to, and have fun doing it too!!

Morning all.  It's 20° and heading for a hight of 28° today. A few clouds around.

If you want to know about blooming onions go to:  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blooming_onion

There was a gadget for sale to cut the onions in the flower shape and then you deep fried them.

We are going out for lunch today with a guy that my DH used to work with and his wife. About a month ago, we were at Zellers. I was looking at different things and when I went to find DH, he was talking to a man. The man was someone that DH used to work with (Manitoba Hydro back in Winnipeg). DH has been retired since 1994. Anyway this couple just moved to Kelowna from Manitoba (Gimli) a month before we met them. They are now settled in their new condo so we're going for lunch. So, I guess it is kind of a small world sometimes!

When we get home, I want to continue working on my photo album of our holidays. I'm going to get some pictures from the internet of some of the highlights of some of the places to fit in with all my photos.

Ann, good to hear from you. Please take it easy. Enjoy your drive.

Cookie, hope you'll fill us in with what happened.

All you other ladies are always so busy, it makes my head spin. Living in an apartment condo and no longer working, sure makes a difference in my life. DH and I lead a very quiet and leisurely life. There seems to be a lot of - "Let's do that tomorrow" LOL

Will check back later to see what everyone has been up to.

    Enjoy you day!

    Hello everyone,

We got back from my fil's about an hour ago and haven't been off the phone since.  There was a message to call a friend of mine....One of my best friend's brother was killed in Afganistan this morning (suicide bomber). Kathy was married 5 yrs ago Aug and lost her husband to epilepsy that Halloween, then lost her mother to an aneurism exactly 2 yrs later and now her brother......

I don't mean to bring you all down with the news. I'm just really shaken up by the news.  He was just home for a visit in May and got engaged. They were going to get married in Sept when he came home.

    Re: Canadian Corner 06/07/08

well, icould wiggle my fingers this morning, so apparently that was good enough to be put to work...  long story...  i tried to break my wrist yesterday :) yahhh i know. what??  alright, the kid invited over the neighbor kids to ride her pony and they actually showed up (surprising? absolutely!)  so the kid was pissing around trying to get the bridle on, so i climbed in the pen, hopped down on the goat watering ramp (something we all do all the time) and the whole stinking thing rolled out from under my feet  and i hit the ground literally like a tonne of bricks... wrist, elbow, butt.  so as i'm sitting there trying not to cuss in front of the neighbor kids, i decided that yup i needed help to get up, this really really hurt... so 'kid go get dad'  she turns around, trips, spooks the paint and just about gets trampled herself... i managed to pull myself across the ground to check for damage (thankfully none) told the neighbor kid 'please go get  my husband, he needs to check both of us now'  so she leaves, coralee is trying her best to convince me that she really is okay (she really wants to ride, and doesnt want me to send her to the house for doctoring)  so she gets up, i rolled on the ground in agony, and then the next thing i can hear is a screech, a squeal, and a cry (yes all from the same kid)... coralee decided to mess with the pony again, and the pony took offence to it, and retaliated (not the pony's fault in this one, kid should have left well enough alone)  so limped up finally found my husband, he figures it's not broken, but 'keep moving the fingers'  i told him some not so nice things and that if i could move the stupid fingers i would be  (this particular conversation actually spent most of the day repeating itself...)

so anyhow, between drugs and heat on it, i was able to move it this morning... but oh it is such pretty colours!!

all this on top of friday, well, i'm an emotionally wreck to say the least..  think lance knows that too, since he did his best to keep me extremely busy today.. the man cares he just has a funny way of showing it sometimes! :)  but that's okay, because i actually feel much better tonight, tired, and cranky, but i feel more 'whole' tonight

well, i should go off and feed everyone, another late supper... poor kids... but we had a late lunch too, so they arent all that hungry just yet anyhow..
