Howdy Yarncrafters!
Man! This place takes longer to load these ays than some of the more graphically intense blogs I visit (or attempt to visit LOL) Took me several attempts to get here, and stay here long enough to post.
Marcia, your blog is great! I had a heck of a time deciding which posts to respond to today. LOL Finally just chose two and posted. That BLT dip looks really good. I need to get back to your site to copy both that and the cake recipe you posted. Thank you so much for adding me to your blog list! I've added you to mine as well.
I was so proud of myself for getting the placket knitted for Nathan's shirt. I was showing it to him, and explaining that I needed to make sure I sewed them up correctly then I could sew the buttons on the one. It was then it occured to me, after all that practicing, I forgot to knit the button holes in! Yikes! Good thing I hadn't seewn them up yet! I ripped the one back far enough to reknit it with the buttonholes. Now I'm just hoping I was generous enough with my tail to make up for the extra stitches! Geez! It was all going so good too! LOL
Re knitted scarf patterns, what I usually do these days is just pick a stitch I like, hopefully one that will be symmetric so I don't end up needing to graph it together. There are cables of course. Another I've used is the little hourglass pattern. You might try looking at dishcloth patterns for inspiration. Also, a site you might want to check out is knittingpatterncentral.
The weather finally decided to get summery for us. Of course now everyone's concerned about the grass and brush that had an extra growth spurt due to all the rain earlier on that is now doing a fine job of drying out. We've been busy cutting all we can back on our property. We've been lucky for so long, just hope our luck doesn't run out. Love living in the country, but there are special concerns that go along with it.
We're having a late dinner tonight and it's close to ready so I gotta run. Hope you all had a fun long weekend, and are having a good week!
