    Turkey prices in your areas

Have you seen any ads yet for good turkey prices? The only two I've seen here near Seattle are for those "come ons" as I call them for .69 lb for butterball if you spend $25. Also two different stores have the complete meal...turkey, ham, potatoes, veg., ect. for $25....you cook.   No thanks to both of those. Guess they are waiting until next Tues. when the next store ads come out to advertise. We are going out of town but want one for the feeezer.

Eli...spoke very slowly, "Because you're mine, That's why you matter to me."

Fresh turkeys from the local turkey farm are $2.25 a lb. Holidays only come once a year, I guess.

Elizabeth, I took my Wed sales paper with me to Wal Mart, Albertsons had a ad  for the Honeysuckle White young turkey, 67 cents a pound, had to be between 12 – 22 lbs, I found one that was just over 13 lbs. They were going to argue with me about comping the price, at Albertsons you had to buy an additional 20 dollars in items which I did, I needed them. The cashier called the manager but she told me because it was a Albertsons special they may not accept it? I said what??? It is not a Albertsons coupon there, a sale item is all, and it was exactly the same item. I told her if they did not honor it they could keep everything else I was buying. The manager had no problem with it, and he made sure the weight was what it was supposed to be. Come to find out too, I did not have to buy another 20 dollars additional purchase, they said Wal mart does not go by that!! So my turkey was less than 9 bucks. Connie

In my Publix paper that came today, I was surprised that all they advertised were complete  turkey dinners----guess the individual turkeys will be in next weeks paper.

BTW--$45.99 for the turkey dinner, and $53.99 for the turkey breast dinner, both with dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry relish.

I have fellow teachers that do this every year, but that's not for me--I love to make everything myself.

Last year, a nurse at the nursing home where my Dear Dad was got a complete turkey dinner from Whole Foods for $99.00---ouch.

I just looked at them yesterday.  The Butterballs were $.99 a lb and the store brand were $.79 a pound.  I didn't buy one yet though...

Connie.....I never shop for groceries at WalMart but will stop and see what their prices are on my way to WinCo. If I change my route I can go right by there so not out of my way. I wonder why some of you are getting good prices already and we're not. We haven't received a Safeway ad here in our town for about three weeks now so don't know if they have started advertising turkeys. I called the 800 number the Safeway store gave me and complained.

I got mine for $4.98 with a $25.00 purchase...but look at it this way....you have to get all the fixings anyway...so I think this is a great deal..

Oh its a 17lb turkey....and in a week or so I am picking up another one for later..

We're traveling 300 miles one way for our "free" Thanksgiving dinner so that is why I'm not interested in spending the $25. It's going into the freezer for sometime later.

Aldi has fresh for $1.39 lb. and other stores in our area (KC) have frozen for less. Bought or got my frozen turkey free today - had to purchase a Hormel boneless ham in order to receive a free Honeysuckle frozen turkey but what the hey can use the ham anyhow. Since I fix both fresh & frozen on T-day I figure I'm halfway there. Next week will be the grand daddy of all turkey sales, so.....

I've seen a store brand for $.88 lb but better than that as far as I'm concerned is our HyVee store.  By a whole boneless Hormel ham at $2.99 lb. and get a 10 - 12 lb. turkey free. I think that's a great deal.  I haven't paid too much attention to the other stores since I don't have to buy one this year.

In my area, a smokin hot deal is .99 for a utility turkey(might be missing parts) or better yet, spend $250 and get a "free" turkey under 20#.  You guys have cheap cheap stuff.  But when it comes down to actually buying one, I would rather spend $50 for a locally raised farm turkey anyday!
