It's never too early to start thinking. Someone here posted about Fairy Day (which is the day before my dd's burfday). I found this while looking in my hoard of recipes for a different recipe.
FAIRY CAKES
2 large eggs
1/2c butter, soft
1/2c 10X
1/2c self rising flour (put 1 1/2t b.powder+1/2t salt in measuring cup and add enough regular flour to make 1c, but you need 1/2c so 3/4t b.powder+1/4t salt in measuring cup and add flour to make 1/2c!)
ICING: 1/2c 10X, some cold water, sprinkles/colored sugar crystals
Oven to 375 and put the rack on the upper half of oven. Cream butter and 10X with a wooden spoon (are you kidding? I think I'll use a mixer). Beat well till pale and fluffy. Beat eggs and grad add, then beat well and evenly. Sift flour and add to egg stuff. Fold in lightly with metal spoon/sparula. Spoon into lined muffin cups (makes 12) and bake 10-12 minutes DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR OR THE CAKES WILL FALL!!!!!!! Cool and ice with the 10X and a little of the cold water to make it thick enough to coat back of spoon (I think a drop of food coloring to make a pastel color would look lovely). When cakes are iced, sprinkle the sprinkles.
(that's tsp baking powder, not tbs baking powder)
Reality is for people who lack imagination.
